Abstract

The porang plant is a plant that has many functions and has a lot of high starch content, especially glucomannan which is widely used by industry. This plant is very easy to grow in Indonesia, one of which is in Bergam Village, Binjai Kota District, Binjai City. This area is very strategic with existing industries in the city of Medan and has the potential for development, especially porang plants. The research objective was to analyze the income, break-even point and R/C ratio of Mr. Abdul Muis' porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) farming in Bergam Village, Binjai Kota District, Binjai City. The research used a survey method with a case study approach. The results showed that porang tubers in porang farming were inefficient and not recommended to be continued, while the use of frog/bulbil seeds showed that porang farming was highly recommended to be continued. The R/C ratio value of 2.32 (2.32 > 1) means that Porang Abdul Muis farming in Berngam Village is feasible. To get maximum results farmers are advised to see the right planting season.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and speaking ability of grade 9 of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Jambi. This research was quantitative research which used correlational technique design. The research sample was 40 students in grade nine, and total sampling was used. The instruments used in the study were a vocabulary test and a speaking test. The vocabulary test consisted of 20 questions in the form of 10 multiple choices, 5 matches up, and 5 fill blank and a speaking test in the form of describing something for 3-5 minutes. The correlation was measured through Pearson Product Moment. The results showed a strong relationship between vocabulary mastery and students' speaking ability, meaning that students' vocabulary mastery increased in line with students' speaking ability. It can be concluded that students' vocabulary mastery and speaking ability are good, and the correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and speaking ability is at a very strong level.

Abstract

Sektor peternakan di Indonesia berkontribusi besar terhadap ketahanan pangan, khususnya dari komoditas sapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran teknologi digital dalam membantu manajemen peternakan sapi melalui studi komparatif dua aplikasi Android yakni My Cattle Manager dan CowMaster. Keduanya memiliki fitur pencatatan data ternak, kesehatan, keuangan, serta pengingat otomatis. Hasil studi menunjukkan lima kebutuhan spesifik peternak, yaitu akses offline gratis, estimasi bobot tanpa alat digital, pelaporan terstruktur, manajemen pakan terjadwal, dan kompatibilitas dengan perangkat berspesifikasi rendah. My Cattle Manager unggul dalam fitur offline, silsilah ternak, dan langganan sederhana. CowMaster menonjol dalam estimasi bobot berbasis morfometri dan manajemen pakan berbasis usia dan berat, meski fitur premiumnya terbatas. Keduanya belum mendukung integrasi IoT maupun kecerdasan buatan. Pemilihan aplikasi sebaiknya disesuaikan dengan skala usaha, preferensi visual, kemampuan berlangganan, dan fitur yang dibutuhkan. Fitur silsilah dan pengelompokan ternak hanya tersedia di My Cattle Manager, sedangkan estimasi bobot dan manajemen pakan hanya ada di CowMaster.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan Fintech terhadap literasi dan inklusi keuangan pada Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kota Makassar. Data yang dipakai dalam studi ini adalah data primer, yang dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada responden (pelaku UMKM di Kota Makassar), observasi, dan dokumentasi. Untuk menganalisis data, digunakan metode kuantitatif dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS 21.00. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Fintech memiliki pengaruh terhadap literasi dan inklusi keuangan pada UMKM di Kota Makassar. Salah satu keterbatasan dalam penelitian ini adalah minimnya jumlah responden yang mengembalikan kuesioner. Meskipun demikian, Fintech berperan besar dalam inklusi keuangan UMKM, berkontribusi signifikan pada pemberdayaan UMKM dan ekonomi lokal. Selain itu, pemanfaatan Fintech oleh pelaku UMKM di Kota Makassar juga dapat meningkatkan literasi keuangan mereka di bidang ekonomi.

Abstract

English language learning in higher elementary school grades still faces challenges in effectively integrating 21st-century skills, thus requiring an instructional model that can simultaneously foster character, citizenship, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication, such as the RADEC model with a 6Cs orientation. This study examines the influence of the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create) learning model on enhancing 21st-century skills—Character, Citizenship, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication (6Cs)—among sixth-grade elementary students in English language learning. Utilising a one-group pretest-posttest design, the research involved 20 students aged around 12 years over eight meetings. Data were gathered using instruments constructed to evaluate cognitive and behavioural competencies aligned with the 6Cs framework. The results, analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, indicated statistically significant improvements across all six skills (p < 0.05), with large effect sizes (r > 0.8), highlighting the substantial influence of the RADEC learning model. These findings suggest that the RADEC learning model encourages active participation, independent learning, and collaboration, making it a promising instructional model for cultivating essential 21st-century competencies in primary education. Further research is recommended to explore its application across diverse student populations and educational contexts.

Abstract

The problem of this research is whether there is influence of compensation with indicator of giving service mark, health insurance, overtime allowance, giving of facility right, giving of charter of awards and giving praise to employee performance at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) Makassar Container Terminal Branch? Data collection techniques in this study using observations and questionnaires. While the data analysis technique used is simple regression analysis. And the results showed that compensation on employees of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) Makassar Container Terminal Branch has an influence on employee performance. And from the data processing SPSS 21, obtained a simple regression equation Y = 0.198 0.995 X. Keywords: Compensation, Employee Performance

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate and analyze the students’ perception on the implementation of Discovery Learning Method in reading comprehension and the challenges that the students face on the implementation of Discovery Learning Method in reading comprehension. In addition, this research was conducted through qualitative approach. The data of this research were taken from 30 students at SMK Negeri 1 Terpadu Sindue. In collecting the data of this research, the researcher used questionnaire and interview to the students. Questionnaire was used as the main instrument of this research and interview was used to support the results of the questionnaire. Questionnaire was in the form of statement and it included four degrees of answer option. Then, after analyzing the data obtained, it was concluded that Discovery Learning Method is effective to be implemented. It was perceived by the students that the method gives them insights of learning materials, allows them to explore the reading material, makes them more active in class, improves their analytical thinking, and gives them an opportunity to discover information collected earlier with friends. However, the students faced some challenges during the implementation of this method. The challenges that the students face on the implementation of Discovery Learning Method in reading comprehension are: the difficulty in understanding reading text which is too long, unclear instruction from the teacher, lack of vocabulary, and the learning situation (current teaching and learning process during the pandemic).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) Untuk Mengetahui Pengaruh Motivasi Dan Insentif Terhadap Produktivitas Kerja PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV Persero 2) Untuk Mengetahui Pengaruh Motivasi Terhadap Produktivitas Kerja PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV Persero. 3) Untuk Mengetahui Pengaruh Insentif Terhadap Produktivitas Kerja PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV Persero. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu Pegawai pada PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV Persero yang berjumlah 93 orang.Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner.Analisis data dengan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) Motivasi dan Insentif berpengaruh positif dan k signifikan terhadap Produktivitas Kerja. 2) Motivasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Produktivitas kerja. 3) Insentif berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Produktivitas Kerja PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV Persero.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengatasi kesenjangan pengetahuan dengan menguji peran mediasi komitmen organisasi dalam hubungan antara empowerment dan kinerja. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada Rumah Sakit Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid. Metode pengambilan sampel sebanyak 98 karyawan digunakan pemilihan sampel acak sederhana. Teknik Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan model persamaan analisis regresi sederhana dan analisis jalur untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa empowerment berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan melalui komitmen organisasi pada RSUP Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid.

Abstract

This research investigates how parents support their children's English language development. Interviews with the parents of a nine-year-old Indonesian girl named Acha (pseudonym) were conducted to learn more about how they perceived their involvement in their daughter's development of English-speaking abilities. When the research was conducted, Acha was a third grader at an elementary school with 364 subscribers on her YouTube channel. Her competence in speaking English is exhibited in her YouTube videos. This research indicates that Acha’s English language acquisition process has involved her parents’ interventions directly and indirectly. This research reveals several helpful practices performed by Acha's parents, including early exposure to simple vocabulary, a positive home literacy environment (HLE) situation, encouragement of Acha to use English, and facilitation of Acha's access to English-language YouTube content. According to the results of this research, Acha's parents' practices are mediated by their educational experiences, socioeconomic status, and digital literacy skills. This research demonstrates the beneficial effects of parental participation on children's language development.
