Abstract

Keberhasilan proses pembelajaran salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan guru dalam merancang perangkat pembelajaran termasuk di dalamnya adalah kemampuan penyusunan instrumen tes evaluasi. Guru yang profesional memiliki tugas utama mendidik, mengajar, membimbing, mengarahkan, menilai, dan mengevaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan keprofesionalan guru dalam menyusun intrumen tes evaluasi yang berbasis High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) dan berpikir reflektif siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh guru-guru matematika SMP/SMA/sederajat di Jawa Tengah dengan jumlah peserta 14 orang. Pelatihan ini menggunakan metode ceramah yang dilakukan secara daring mengingat kondisi saat ini masih dalam masa Pandemi Covid-19. Hasil evaluasi dilakukan di akhir pelatihan, diperoleh hasil bahwa sebagian besar peserta belum mengenal tentang berpikir reflektif siswa dan tertarik dengan pentingnya kemampuan berpikir reflektif. Di sisi lain, sebagian besar peserta sudah mengenal tentang HOTS tetapi masih banyak peserta belum memberikan soal matematika berbasis HOTS kepada siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini mendapat apresiasi dari peserta dan peserta tertarik untuk diadakan pelatihan lebih lanjut tentang penyusunan berpikir reflektif siswa dalam waktu yang lebih lama.

Abstract

Background: The active learning of students at SMAN 6 Balikpapan is still relatively low and needs to be improved. The purpose of this activity is to introduce the snowball throwing learning model to SMAN 6 Balikpapan teachers and its implementation in learning. Method: This socialization activity was carried out through four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This socialization activity was attended by 20 teachers at SMAN 6 Balikpapan. After the presentation of the socialization material, a trial was carried out on 33 students in class XII IPA 5 in the Indonesian language subject. The instrument used in this trial was the student learning activity observation sheet. Results: The implementation results show that the application of the snowball throwing learning model is effective in increasing the learning activity of class XII IPA 5 SMA Negeri 6 Balikpapan in the subject of Indonesian novel material by 17.67%. So it can be said that the Snowball Throwing learning model can increase student learning activity in Indonesian subjects.

Abstract

Background: Writing lectures is a creative-productive activity in which students must have experience and reliable references because lecture texts are informative, educative, and persuasive. Students are carried out through a literacy process. The purpose of this activity is to provide in-depth material to teachers about the CIRC learning model in order to improve students' lecture writing skills at SMAN 4 Balikpapan. Method: The activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 4 Balikpapan, the training was attended by Indonesian language teachers. After the training ended, the model was implemented in one of the classes. Selection is done by simple random sampling. Learning activities with the model are carried out in several meetings with the method used, namely cycles I and II consisting of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques by means of tests, distributing questionnaires, and documentation. Results: Bahasa Indonesia teachers all understand the steps of the CIRC learning model and are willing to apply them to learning in class. As for the results of the implementation of the model, the pre-cycle consists of seven assessment indicators. From the results of the recap, the lowest is the assessment of attitudes in learning, namely 81%. Results of cycle I Of the 35 students, only 16 reached the KKM and 19 were still below the KKM. And cycle II of the 35 students 33 achieved the KKM score and only 2 had not reached the KKM score. The CIRC model can improve students' lecture writing skills at SMAN 4 Balikpapan.
