Abstract

THE EFFECT OF THE CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING PROCESS (CUP) LEARNING MODEL ON STUDENTS' CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING AND METACOGNITIVE SKILLS The current curriculum changes anticipate that students will possess problem-solving skills, metacognitive skills, and critical and creative thinking. One of the principal challenges currently facing educators is the lack of comprehension of the concepts being taught and the methods for solving problems. It is, therefore, necessary to adopt a learning approach that emphasises deeper conceptual understanding. The research was conducted at MAN Kota Mojokerto to determine the impact of the CUPs learning model on students' creative problem-solving abilities and metacognitive skills. This research employs a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling, whereby class XI F7 was selected as the experimental class and class XI F8 was designated as the control class for comparison purposes. The research instruments comprised a description question for creative problem-solving ability, an inventory questionnaire for the measurement of metacognitive ability, and an observation sheet. The results of the MANOVA test indicate a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. The results demonstrate that the implementation of the CUPs learning model has a notable impact on enhancing creative problem-solving abilities and metacognitive skills in students from class XI F7 of MAN Kota Mojokerto. The considerable effect can be substantiated by the improvement in test outcomes, indicating that the CUPs model effectively activates indicators on both dependent variables. Perubahan kurikulum saat ini mengharapkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah, keterampilan metakognitif, dan berpikir secara kritis serta kreatif dapat dimiliki oleh peserta didik. Salah satu hambatan utama sekarang ini adalah kurangnya pemahaman terhadap konsep yang diajarkan dan cara mengatasi permasalahan. Oleh karena itu, model CUPs dipilih sebab menekankan pemahaman konseptual yang lebih mendalam. Penelitian dilakukan di MAN Kota Mojokerto dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CUPs terhadap kemampuan creative problem solving dan metacognitive skill peserta didik. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan quasi eksperimen pretest posttest control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling, di mana kelas XI F7 dipilih sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan kelas XI F8 menjadi kelas kontrol untuk perbandingan. Instrumen penelitian melibatkan soal uraian untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah secara kreatif, angket inventori untuk mengukur kemampuan metakognitif, dan lembar observasi. Hasil uji MANOVA menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05, sehingga hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran CUPs secara bersamaan memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan creative problem solving dan keterampilan metakognitif pada peserta didik dari kelas XI F7 MAN Kota Mojokerto. Pengaruh signifikan tersebut dapat dibuktikan melalui peningkatan hasil pengujian, menunjukkan bahwa model CUPs berhasil mengaktifkan indikator-indikator pada kedua variabel dependen.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has required students to learn from home, leading teachers to adapt and develop online learning that integrates technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge (TPACK). This study aimed to investigate the knowledge and skills of social studies teachers at the middle and high school levels in transmitting TPACK. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, with a sample of 117 respondents from middle and high schools. The results showed no differences in skills between genders in using TPACK. Secondly, TPACK is the ability to integrate technology, pedagogy and content processing components, but the results show that teachers do not fully own these components.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna bencana dari perspektif filsafat geografi. Geografi yang dikenal sebagai mother of science karena banyak ilmu pengetahuan yang dikaji selalu dimulai dari keadaan bumi. Geografi suatu bagian dari ilmu yang membahas tentang kebumian serta berbagai fenomena di bumi yang berkaitan secara langsung maupun tidak langsung dengan kehidupan manusia, juga mempelajari pola spasial. Bencana adalah bagian dari kajian geografi, yang merupakan ilmu penting untuk dipelajari. Indonesia merupakan Negara yang rentan terhadap bencana alam yang mungkin terjadi kapan saja. Dari perspektif ontologi, bencana adalah peristiwa alam, non-alam, atau sosial yang mengancam dan mengganggu kehidupan serta mata pencaharian masyarakat yang terkena dampaknya. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan korban jiwa, kerusakan lingkungan, kerugian materi, dan dampak psikologis. Sedangkan aspek epistimologi, membahas fenomena geosfer secara deduktif dan juga induktif dilengkapi pula dengan Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan meta-sintetis dengan literature review yang menidentifikasi, menilai, dan menginterpretasi seluruh temuan dalam topik penelitian dengan tujuan menjawab permasalahan dalam penelitian guna mendukung penelitian bencana dalam ilmu geografi. Dalam bidang aksiologi, studi atau penelitian tentang bencana dapat memberikan berbagai manfaat bagi kehidupan, baik dari segi fisik maupun sosial.

Abstract

Digital textbooks have become indispensable tools in contemporary pedagogical paradigms, offering nuanced instructional material to learners. As we navigate the 21st century, students are mandated to demonstrate advanced competencies; however, a concerning 65% of students from National High Schools grapple with High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions. In response to this discernible gap, this study introduces a digital textbook dedicated to inland water content, constructed around HOTS and synergistically integrated with Google services. The research and development process adopted the rigorous ADDIE model framework. Expert evaluations yielded encouraging results: material validation stood at 90%, linguistic validation at 90%, and media expert validation at 99%. Pilot trials at Malang National High School and MAN 7 Jombang recorded student approval ratings of 91%, while educator feedback was 85%. HOTS testing results ranged from medium to exceptionally high, with average scores of 84.5 at Malang National High School and 85.2 at MAN 7 Jombang. Cumulatively, the data underscores the suitability and potential efficacy of the proposed digital textbook in enhancing geographical education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran dari perspektif aksiologi geografi. Geografi adalah bidang ilmu yang membahas tentang berbagai fenomena di bumi yang secara langsung maupun tidak langsung berkaitan erat dengan bumi dan kehidupan manusia, serta mempelajari pola ruang. Geografi berkaitan dengan alam dan orang-orang yang mengeksplorasi elemen fisik, manusia dan sosial dalam studi geografi untuk memahami bagaimana geografi adalah campuran dari ilmu sosial dan ilmu alam. Geografi tidak terlepas dari ilmu-ilmu lain dalam kajian fenomena geosfer. Geografi merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang ada dalam core subject and 21st century themes, dimana pada pembelajaran abad 21 membutuhkan pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi untuk melaksanakan proses kegiatan belajar. Ilmu pengetahuan akan mengalami perkembangan yang pesat, apabila kita memanfaatkan teknologi dan menerapkannya di dalam proses pembelajaran. Teknologi pembelajaran dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar, sehingga pembelajaran akan berjalan lebh efektif dengan memecahkan suatu permasalahan atau studi kasus yang telah diterapkan ke dalam teknologi pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the project based learning model assisted by geospatial technology on the creative thinking skills of class XI Phase F students at SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas. This study is a quasi-experimental design study with a pretest posttest control group design. The population of the subjects of this study were 64 students of class XI Phase F who were divided into two classes. Class XI F/8 as the experimental group and class XI F/10 as the control group with the number of students in each class. The data collection technique in this study used a test in the form of 20 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing in this study used the Independent T-Test analysis to test the difference in scores obtained by students in the control class and the experimental class after learning (post-test). The results showed that there was an effect of the project based learning model assisted by geospatial technology on the creative thinking skills of class XI Phase F students at SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kapas

Abstract

Environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change are increasingly worsening. However, students' awareness and concern for the environment remain relatively low. Many students lack an understanding of the impact of human activities on nature, as learning is often theoretical and fails to connect environmental concepts with real-life experiences. Greeneration, as an innovative learning approach, utilizes the environment as a learning resource that provides students with direct experiences. This study aims to explore the impact of using Greeneration as a learning resource on students' environmental awareness, with the hope of offering relevant solutions in the current educational context. The research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental design, involving students from Kuntum Cemerlang High School in Bandung City. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire designed to measure changes in students' attitudes before and after the intervention. The findings indicate that the implementation of Greeneration significantly enhances students' environmental awareness and concern, with an average increase of 30% in environmental attitude scores after the intervention. These results are expected to contribute to the development of a more environmentally responsive curriculum and encourage the implementation of innovative learning methods that inspire students to take an active role in environmental preservation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Maptiler digital learning media on learning outcomes and creativity in terms of geography learning motivation on map material in class X.E1 of SMAN 2 Batang Anai. The background of this study is based on the low learning outcomes and creativity as well as student motivation in geography learning due to the dominance of monotonous conventional methods and the minimal use of technology-based media. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class (using Maptiler media) and the control class (using conventional media), each consisting of 30 students. The instruments used included pretest and posttest tests to measure learning outcomes, learning motivation questionnaires, and assignments to measure student creativity. The results showed that the use of Maptiler media had a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that Maptiler media influenced student learning outcomes with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05, as indicated by a higher average posttest score in the experimental class and an N-Gain value of 60.82, which is categorized as quite effective. Thus, Maptiler media has been proven to significantly improve geography learning outcomes. Furthermore, there was a significant influence of the media, as evidenced by a sig. 0.000 <0.05, indicating a significant difference in media use. Meanwhile, there was no interaction between motivation, as evidenced by a sig. 192 >0.05. Similarly, there was no significant difference between the interaction between media and motivation on learning outcomes, as the sig. 893 exceeded 0.05. This indicates that the media's influence on learning outcomes is consistent and unaffected by student motivation.

Abstract

Pembelajaran akibat keterbatasan teknologi, infrastruktur, dan literasi digital guru serta siswa. Kondisi ini berdampak pada rendahnya pemanfaatan pembelajaran inovatif, termasuk deep learning yang menekankan literasi, pemecahan masalah, dan berpikir kritis. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas guru dalam merancang pembelajaran inovatif yang selaras dengan Kurikulum Merdeka melalui pelatihan, pendampingan, dan penyediaan materi pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara sistematis, mulai dari sosialisasi hingga pendampingan implementasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru dalam mengintegrasikan pendekatan deep learning, serta tumbuhnya motivasi siswa melalui pembelajaran aktif dan kontekstual. Program ini juga mendorong sekolah mitra mengadopsi Kurikulum Merdeka secara lebih efektif. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan keberdayaan mitra dalam mengembangkan inovasi pembelajaran sesuai kebutuhan lokal dan arah kebijakan pendidikan nasional, sehingga berdampak positif pada kualitas proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Maptiler digital learning media on student learning creativity in terms of geography learning motivation on map material in class X.E1 SMAN 2 Batang Anai. The background of this research is based on the low creativity and motivation of students in learning geography due to the dominance of monotonous conventional methods and the lack of utilisation of technology-based media. The research method used was quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class (using Maptiler media) and the control class (using conventional media), each totalling 30 students. The instruments used included pretest and posttest tests, learning motivation questionnaires, and assignments to measure student creativity. n conclusion, Maptiler media is effective in increasing geography learning creativity, especially for students who have high learning motivation. This research recommends the utilisation of interactive digital media as an innovative strategy in geography learning to create interesting, meaningful and creative learning
