Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of the DEM NGULON-Based Symbolic Modeling technique in fostering entrepreneurial behavior among high school students. Although Symbolic Modeling has been shown to strengthen motivation and self-efficacy, limited research has examined how integrating local cultural values can enhance its impact in entrepreneurship education. Using a Collaborative Action Research approach, the intervention was implemented over four cycles, with guidance counselors and students as partners. The technique was structured into six reflective stages to support the internalization of values. Five aspects of entrepreneurial behavior were measured: innovativeness, risk-taking, hard work, managerial ability, and decision-making. The results indicate significant improvements in innovativeness, risk-taking, and managerial ability during Cycle I (p < 0.05), while other aspects showed no significant change. In Cycles II to IV, changes continued in a consolidation pattern. Students with lower initial scores recorded the greatest improvements. These findings highlight the contribution of positioning DEM NGULON as a culturally grounded reinforcement mechanism within modeling-based guidance. The study suggests that this approach can serve as an early catalyst for behavioral change and offers a relevant framework for entrepreneurship education that aligns psychological learning processes with local values. Abstract

This study aims to examine various literature that discusses the implementation of guidance and counseling (BK) management systems in regular schools in the context of inclusive education. The research was conducted using the narrative literature review method on national sources indexed by SINTA and several relevant international articles. The results of the study show that the BK management system plays an important role in supporting the success of inclusive education, especially at the stage of planning, implementing, and evaluating services that are oriented to the individual needs of students. However, implementation in the field still faces obstacles, such as the limited competence of BK teachers in handling students with special needs (including slow learners), lack of coordination across professions, and lack of policy support from schools. This study recommends the need to strengthen the capacity of BK teachers, the development of school policies that favor diversity, and the use of technology in the BK management system.

Abstract

The transition from university to post-academic life represents a critical developmental stage that presents significant challenges to the social well-being of final-year students. From a guidance and counselling perspective, anticipated peer separation may lead to emotional distress, a phenomenon that remains underexplored in higher education research. Peer separation anxiety is defined as excessive emotional distress experienced upon actual or anticipated separation from significant peer attachment figures. This construct is distinct from parental separation anxiety and is increasingly recognised during emerging adulthood. Drawing on Attachment Theory, the present study aims to map and synthesise current evidence regarding peer separation anxiety and its psychological implications among university students. A scoping review was conducted following the Arksey and O’Malley framework and PRISMA-ScR guidelines, utilising the Population–Concept–Context (PCC) framework, and included literature published between 2016 and 2026. The search identified 1,640 records across Scopus, PsycINFO, and Web of Science, of which 8 met the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that separation anxiety is consistently associated with internalising symptoms such as anxiety and depression. Insecure attachment styles and intolerance of uncertainty are identified as key risk factors, whereas peer attachment functions as a protective factor in psychological adjustment. In collectivist cultural contexts, such as Indonesia, where group identity and interdependence are central, peer bonds formed during university acquire heightened psychological significance. The dissolution of these bonds at graduation constitutes both an interpersonal loss and a disruption of collective identity. Notably, although the review focuses on final-year students, most included studies examined the general university student population rather than those specifically at the point of graduation, highlighting a significant conceptual and population gap.Furthermore, no studies from Indonesia were identified, and research employing qualitative or helping relationship-based approaches is lacking. These findings highlight the urgent need for culturally relevant research and the development of localised evaluation tools. Specifically, adapting the ASA-19 for use in Indonesian higher education should be prioritised to enable guidance and counselling professionals to identify and address peer separation anxiety among graduating students effectively.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine empathy profiles and empathy dysfunction among Muslim adolescents involved in brawl and klithih behavior in Yogyakarta City high schools and to identify factors underlying their involvement. The research used a descriptive design combining quantitative and qualitative data. Participants were seven Muslim students from private high schools selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an empathy scale and in-depth interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively using measures of central tendency and dispersion, whereas qualitative data were examined using Miles and Huberman’s model of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that involvement in brawls and klithih is closely associated with empathy dysfunction, which is exacerbated by low emotional regulation and unsupportive family backgrounds. These results inform guidance and counseling services and can guide strategies to develop adaptive empathy among students at risk of violent behavior. The study enriches empirical understanding of adolescent empathy and school violence. This study has limitations in geographical scope, being restricted to Yogyakarta City schools, so the findings may not generalize to adolescents in regions with different sociocultural contexts. The study also focused mainly on individual factors, while external influences such as social environments, educational systems, and institutional roles were not systematically explored. Future research should broaden the participant context across diverse regions and deepen the analysis of structural dimensions that contribute to empathy dysfunction and youth violence. Future studies should also use participatory approaches involving students, teachers, and school communities to build a more holistic and applicable understanding.

Abstract

Abstract Self-disclosure is the process of revealing personal information to others and plays a vital role in identity development, emotional regulation, and the formation of healthy interpersonal relationships, especially among adolescents. However, within the Indonesian educational context, students' openness remains hindered by factors such as shame, fear of stigma, and a lack of supportive environments. This study highlights findings from the 2023 Counseling Corner program in Karawang Regency, which revealed a high level of student resistance to disclosing personal issues, even through anonymous mechanisms. It is necessary to implement guidance and counseling approaches based on safe spaces, trust-building, and the use of expressive methods such as art therapy and narrative techniques to promote self-disclosure. This approach not only supports students' emotional well-being but also serves as a preventive strategy in creating an inclusive and psychologically healthy school environment. Keywords: self-disclosure, guidance and counseling, students, psychological well-being, safe space.

Abstract

The digital era has transformed the communication landscape of Indonesian adolescents. The phenomena of phubbing and technoference have become serious barriers to the development of active listening skills (ALS). Data from APJII (2024) shows thatinternet penetration among adolescents reaches 87.02% with usage duration of 6-10 hours per day. This article develops a "Digital-Real Bridge" Theoretical Framework through an integrative review of 50 reputable sources. The framework conceptualizes ALS through three dimensions (cognitive, affective, and behavioral) while accounting for digital era barriers. The framework identifiesspecific mechanisms by which digital technology disrupts each dimension of ALS and proposes targeted intervention strategies rootedin Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Social Skills Training (SST) principles. Key contributions include: (1) theoretical integration of previously separate constructs, (2) operationalization of a 10-session modular program, and (3) culturally-responsive adaptation principles for implementation within the guidance and counseling context in Indonesia. This study employs an integrative literature review design using the Torraco (2005) and Whittemore and Knafl (2005) frameworks, synthesizing 50 reputable sources across developmental psychology, communication, educational technology, and guidance and counseling disciplines.

Abstract

The evaluation of guidance and counseling services is a critical component in the management of school-based counseling programs to ensure alignment between planning, implementation, and outcomes relative to students' developmental needs. This study aims to examine the concept of guidance and counseling program evaluation as an integral part of a quality education system. Guidance and counseling services play a strategic role in facilitating students' personal, social, academic, and career development, thus requiring structured management, particularly through systematic evaluation. This study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing relevant books, regulations, and scientific articles related to guidance and counseling program evaluation. The findings indicate that guidance and counseling program evaluation is a systematic process for obtaining objective information regarding the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of guidance and counseling services on students' development. The purposes of evaluation include assessing program implementation, measuring goal attainment, and providing feedback for program improvement. Evaluation serves a strategic function in decision-making, service quality enhancement, and the professional development of school counselors. This study further elaborates on the principles of evaluation, implementation procedures, evaluation approaches, methods, and data collection instruments including testing and non-testing techniques. Additionally, data sources and evaluation criteria are identified covering program formulation, service implementation, and outcomes achieved by students, teachers, schools, and the wider community. Overall, this study affirms that evaluation is an essential component in ensuring the quality of guidance and counseling services and supporting the optimal achievement of educational goals.
