Abstract

Moringa oleifera decoction is a non-pharmacological therapy that plays an important role in controlling LDL in the blood which is the forerunner of hypertension.  This study aims to determine the effect of giving moringa leaf decoction to reducing blood pressure in the working area of   the Bontomarannu Public Health Center 2023. In this study the method used was quantitative research with a quasy experimental design pre and posttest non-equivalent control group.  55 people participated in this research.  A sample of 48 people was determined by purposive random sampling which was divided into 24 people from the control and intervention groups.  The statistic test used an independent t-test to determine the effect of moringa oleifera decoction on lowering blood pressure.  The results showed that there were significant changes in systolic blood pressure p=0.01 and diastolic blood pressure p=0.01.  The conclusion of this research is that giving Moringa oleifera lowers blood pressure.  Therefore, through this research, people can apply this non-pharmacological therapy as a traditional treatment in reducing blood pressure.

Abstract

Workload is an important factor that can be seen from the provision of health services in hospitals, one of which is intravenous administration, be it intravenous insertion or injection drug administration through an IV tube. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between workload and the quality of nurse services in the infusion installation action at Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital Makassar. The design in this study used a cross-sectional design, a sampling technique using purposive sampling with a total of 51 respondents in the ER and Treatment Room. The data analysis used in this study is statistical analysis of Chi-Square Test. The results of the study from univariate data analysis and bivariate analysis showed that there was a workload relationship to the quality of nurse services in the infusion installation procedure with a p value of 0.042 < 0.05. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between workload and the quality of nurse services in the infusion procedure. Therefore, it is expected that the heavy workload does not affect the quality of nurse services on the follow-up of infusion installation. Advice in this study is expected for nurses to maintain the quality of service, one of which is the infusion insertion.

Abstract

Cancer patients often experience a variety of signs and symptoms that can significantly impact their quality of life. This research aims to apply the Theory of Planned Behavior to nursing care for cancer patients. This approach emphasizes the importance of attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in forming nursing diagnoses. n the context of cancer patients, understanding the factors of the Theory of Planned Behavior, namely attitudes toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, can help identify effective interventions to improve medication adherence, the adoption of a healthy lifestyle, and participation in follow-up care. This framework can increase understanding and improve patient care. The research method used is a case study approach. The research results show that the application of the Theory of Planned Behavior allows nurses to provide holistic care involving various aspects of cancer patients' lives including physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural. By understanding the concept of the Theory of Planned Behavior, nurses can recognize that changing a patient's behavioral habits requires planning, where from an accepting attitude to becoming a habit of carrying out therapy requires a process and needs support from both family and health workers so that goals and outcomes can be achieved.

Abstract

Coughing is caused by smoking, exposure to cigarette smoke, and polluted environments. One cough treatment is non-pharmacological therapy using traditional medicine. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), herbal medicine is used by up to 65% of the population in developed countries and 80% in developing countries. One area in Indonesia that still uses traditional medicine is Central Buton, Southeast Sulawesi. Knowledge is the result of knowing what has happened after someone feels an object. Without knowledge, a person has no basis for making decisions and determining actions to deal with problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between community knowledge and the use of traditional cough medicine in Mawasangka Village, Central Buton Regency. This study was a quantitative analytical study with a Cross Sectional design. The population of this study was all residents of Mawasangka Village who met the inclusion criteria, namely people who are currently or have consumed traditional cough medicine and are aged ≥17 years - 65 years. The sample determination used the Slovin formula with a Purposive Sampling technique and obtained 98 respondents. Data collection used a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability.  The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate, bivariate using logistic regression test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that from 98 respondents, 24.5% of the community had good knowledge, 67.3% had sufficient knowledge, and 8.2% had insufficient knowledge. The results of the logistic regression test obtained a knowledge value of p = 0.322 meaning the p value> 0.05. In conclusion, there is no relationship between community knowledge and the use of traditional cough medicine in Mawasangka Village, Central Buton Regency. The use of traditional cough medicine is not always related to a person's level of knowledge because many other factors are more dominant.

Abstract

Background: The transition from new graduate nurse to professional nurse represents a critical developmental phase marked by psychological adjustment, clinical skill acquisition, and identity formation. In fragile and resource-constrained health systems such as Yemen. This study aimed to explore the lived experiences of nurses transitioning from novice to professional roles in public hospitals in Yemen. Methods: A qualitative descriptive design was employed to obtain an in- depth understanding of participants’ experiences. Ten newly graduated nurses working in government hospitals in Yemen were recruited using purposive sampling. Data collected between January and December 2025 through semi- structured, in-depth interviews. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and meanings across narratives. Result: Three major themes emerged. included Emotional Turbulence in Early Practice, included subthemes of transition shock, fear of clinical errors, and role uncertainty. The second theme, Developing Clinical Competence and Professional Confidence, encompassed experiential learning, mentorship support, and adaptive coping strategies. The third theme, Negotiating Professional Identity within System Constraints, comprised subthemes of interprofessional dynamics, workload pressure, and commitment to patient- centered care despite limited resources. Conclusion: Structured mentorship, supportive leadership, and competency- based transition programs are essential to facilitate smoother professional integration and enhance retention of newly graduated nurses in fragile health systems.
