Abstract

Psychoanalysis is one of subject in literature about psychology because it plays the imagination and situation around the author such as reality, fantasies and dreams. There are many aspects that can be investigated in psychoanalysis, such as narcissism, idealism, heroism and sadism. In this study the writer find out about types of sadist and the dominant types that are in Eragon novel by using Theodore Millon theory. The result of this study are eleven types of sadists on Galbatorix’s character in Eragon Novel. It divided into two explosive sadists, four tyrannical sadists, two enforcing sadists, and three spineless sadists. From that data brutalize, relish menacing, and cruel in verbal act of Galbatorix did to people and Rider clan is indicate tyrannical sadist which be the dominant types that are in Eragon novel. He enjoys fearless of people by killed and relish menacing them. Keywords : Sadist, Eragon novel.

Abstract

This research is entitled The Struggle of Scarlet O’hara to Find Pure Love in Margaret Mitchel Gone With The Wind (1936). The aim of the study is exploring  the most dominat needs of Scarlet O’hara needs appering in Gone With The Wind (1936) and to know the struggles of Scarlet O’hara in finding her needs in Gone With The Wind (1936). This research used a qualitative method to explore the protagonist character in the novel and used the concept of Abraham Maslow’s using five basic hierarchy of needs especially focused on the struggle for love, affection and belongingness also self actualization needs. Based on the analysis, the researcher found that Scarlet O’hara struggles to love, affection, belongingness and self actualization because she needs a man to love, family’s affection and get many friends. The finding of this research revealed that the most dominant needs of Scarlet O’hara  appering   in Gone With The Wind (1936) is the needs of love, affection, and belongingness to make her life full of joys and happiness.Keywords : Struggle, Love, Affection, Belongingness

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate: (1) Indonesian vowel pronunciation difficulties faced by Thai speakers, (2) Indonesian consonant pronunciation difficulties faced by Thai speakers, and (3) Causes of Indonesian pronunciation difficulties faced by Thai speakers. This study used a descriptive method. The data were taken  from recorded Indonesian pronunciation by four Thai exchange students at the University of Bengkulu. The data were analyzed through the transcription of the recorded pronunciation in the form of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), the data were reduced to pronunciation difficulties by Thai speakers by drawing a conclusion and verification of data. The results of this study revealed that: (1) Thai speakers found it difficult in pronouncing some Indonesian vowel sounds (such as /a/, /u/, /e/, and /ǝ/) and diphthongs (/au/ and /oi/), (2) Thai speakers found it difficult in pronouncing some consonant sounds (such as /g/, /v/, /ŋ/, /r/, and /ñj/) and clusters (double and triple consonants), (3) The difficulties in pronouncing Indonesian vowel and consonant are likely to occur due to the language transfer (interference), simplification, reduction, over generalization, and addition. These are developmental errors which may reduce as they study Indonesian further by practicing intensively and interacting with the native speakers of Indonesia. Keywords: Pronunciation,  foreign speakers, language transfer, interference, simplification, reduction, overgeneralization, addition, developmental errors.

Abstract

Examining the students’ errors on writing is part of the evaluation in English language learning and teaching. To produce a good writing, the English language learners have to be able to know the rules of the language use. This research aims to diagnose the errors with subject verb agreement made by the students as well as to explore the factors contribute the errors. To obtain the data, the researcher employed a document analysis and a semi-structure interview. The findings showed most of the errors belonged to misinformation category (33%) and were subsequently followed by omission category (29%) and addition category (29%) and misformation (9%). In addition, from the interview the researcher also found three major factors contribute the students’ errors, namely ignorance the editing process, the unawareness of the grammar rules, and intralingual errors. Abstract

Socialization in building enthusiasm and motivating students in participating in Indonesian language learning at SMP Negeri 2 Bengkulu City. This activity was carried out on January 14 2020 at SMP Negeri 2 Bengkulu City. The number of participants who took part in the counseling was around 30 people. This activity aims to increase the enthusiasm of students in participating in learning Indonesian which they have considered boring so far. So that with the existence of motivation and sharing experiences in learning problems faced by students, a pleasant learning of Indonesian will be established for students in the future. From the results of community service activities it was found that the inhibiting factors for students' motivation in learning Indonesian at school varied from laziness that arose from the students themselves, Indonesian language lessons which were placed during the day so as to make students easily sleepy, ways of learning or delivering material from monotonous teacher so it is not interesting. From the results of that discussion, it can be concluded that the ability of each child is different in capturing Indonesian language material. The enthusiasm that exists in students can increase if other factors support it. So as a party you should pay attention to other supporting factors that are going well when learning Indonesian at SMP N 2 Bengkulu City and can increase student creativity in writing.

Abstract

Professional lecturers are lecturers who have special competence in their fields to carry out teaching, research, and community service. There are four stages in lecturer certification before getting an account to register serdos, namely through D1, D2, D3 and D4. Phase D4 lecturers will get a serdos account. Later this serdos account is used to fill in the portfolio. At the stage of filling out the portfolio is entering the last stage or D5 or what is known as Self Description. The self-description assessment (DD) will determine the passing results of the Certified Lecturer (DYS). Fill in the DD by describing every activity that has been and is being carried out by DYS in a structured, good and correct language. So, whatever DYS will convey will be easily understood by the assessment team. Not only that, the contents of the DD must be in accordance with the points that have been given. Therefore, DYS requires the ability to write DD properly so that what you want to convey can be written effectively. However, not all DYS have the same ability when it comes to writing DD. Self-description value which contains 5 (five) elements, namely: development of learning quality (weight 28/100), development of knowledge/skills (weight 34/100), community service (weight 16/100), institutional management (12/100 ), and improving the quality of student activities (weight 10/100). Presenting self-descriptions must emphasize real examples that have background experience accompanied by examples, not in the form of discourse or wishes that will occur. Abstract

Abstrak. Cerdas berbahasa atau yang lebih umum disebut dengan keterampilan berbicara di depan umum merupakan salah satu keterampilan untuk berbicara di hadapan banyak orang, yang harus dimiliki di era global sekarang ini karena dengan perkembangan zaman dan teknologi yang begitu pesat sekarang ini, kita harus bersaing meningkatkan kualitas diri. Tidak hanya itu, dengan adanya MEA (Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN), yang membuat persaingan di dunia kerja semakin ketat. Pengabdian masyarakat “Program Pelatihan Dan Pengabdian "Ciptakan Akademisi Cerdas Berbahasa Melalui Media Pembelajaran Dan Strategi Belajar Cepat Dan Tepat Bagi Dosen Pemula Dan Mahasiswa” bertujuan agar para anggota Mahasiswa dan dosen dapat memiliki wawasan yang lebih terbuka dan luas serta dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam hal berbicara dan berkomunikasi dengan baik di depan umum dan dapat lebih siap dalam persaingan di dunia kerja. Adapun metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode tatap muka dan metode evaluasi. Metode tatap muka dilaksanakan dengan memberikan materi secara langsung. Metode evaluasi dilakukan di awal dan akhir pertemuan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan memberi kontribusi pada pengembangan media pembelajaran dan strategi belajar cepat dan tepat dan memberi kontribusi bagi sehingga terjadinya peningkatan dalam pemahaman dan pengetahuan dalam berbicara di depan umum. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan, peserta pelatihan terbukti lebih percaya diri untuk berbicara di depan public karena mereka lebih memahami tata cara berbicara di depan umum.. Abstract

Abstrak. Memiliki masalah fisik dan mental terkadang dapat merusak motivasi anak dalam belajar apapun, oleh karena itu ada sekolah khusus untuk anak-anak yang membutuhkan perhatian atau kebutuhan khusus. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki program untuk menginspirasi bahwa belajar bahasa Inggris itu menyenangkan, ajak mereka untuk mengikuti berbagai kegiatan yang menyenangkan sambil belajar. Program ini bertujuan untuk mengajak siswa berpartisipasi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah wawancara, pembelajaran langsung dan permainan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah siswa senang dan sangat antusias dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dengan tim dari Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu. Abstract

Kemampuan mengajar Bapak / Ibu guru di Corien Centre di Bengkulu dalam bahasa Inggris untuk anak –anak belum memiliki dasar pelatihan sama sekali dan dalam melakukan komunikasi dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris dipandang sangat kurang. Hal ini disebabkan karena Bapak/ Ibu guru di Corien Centre tidak memiliki latar belakang pendidikan bahasa Inggris. Bahasa Inggris dewasa kini sangat penting sekali, dikarenakan menjadi bahasa global yang wajib dikuasai dalam masyarakat global. Oleh karena itu sangat penting mengajarkan dan mengenalkan bahasa inggris kepada anak- anak sedini mungkin. Agar mereka dapat mengenal dan menyenangi bahasa Inggris. Bapak / Ibu Corien Centre di Bengkulu perlu adanya pelatihan mengajar bahasa Inggris untuk anak –anak supaya mereka senang dan bahagia belajar bahasa Inggris. Oleh karena itu untuk meningkaan kualitas sumber daya manusia mitra maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan dalam bentuk: Program Short Course Bahasa Inggris, Program Pengadaan media pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang berupa buku ajar English for young learner, Program Penguatan Kompetensi Kebahasaan dan program mengajar bahasa Inggris untuk anak. Abstract

Tulisan cerita rakyat merupakan sarana komunikasi yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan informasi dari satu pihak ke pihak lain. Dalam penulisan cerita rakyat yang ditulis oleh salah satu sanggar tari tradisional di Bengkulu. Kesalahan bahasa dapat diklasifikasikan dalam hal kesalahan ejaan dan kesalahan tata bahasa dari sudut. Dari sudut kesalahan ejaan, seperti kesalahan penulisan tanda baca, angka, penggunaan kata sambung, respek, dan isi cerita rakyat. Kesalahan grammar corner ada dua yaitu penggunaan pronoun pada paragraf cover letter dan masih terdapat fragmentasi kalimat. Kata Kunci: kesalahan Penulisan, tulisan undangan, organisasi mahasiswa
