Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the mediating role of destination image and destination trust in the relationship between Electronic Word-of-Mouth (e-WOM) and the intention to visit halal tourism destinations, specifically focusing on Bangka Belitung. Methodology – This study employed a quantitative approach, collecting data from 292 respondents via an online survey. SEM was used to test the relationships among e-WOM, destination image, destination trust, and intention to visit. Validity and reliability tests, as well as goodness-of-fit measures, were applied to assess the model's robustness.Findings – The results indicate that e-WOM significantly influences both destination trust and destination image. However, neither destination image nor destination trust directly affect the intention to visit, and e-WOM itself does not have a direct significant impact on the intention. These findings suggest that, while e-WOM fosters positive perceptions and trust, other factors are more critical in driving the halal tourism intention.Implications – This study provides valuable insights for tourism stakeholders, particularly in halal tourism, by highlighting the importance of managing e-WOM to enhance trust and image. However, halal tourism providers must prioritize authenticity, cultural sensitivity, and visitor engagement to attract and retain tourists.Originality – This study contributes to the literature by exploring the mediating effects of destination image and trust in halal tourism, challenging the assumption that positive perceptions are always translated into behavioral intentions. It expands the understanding of how e-WOM impacts tourist decision making within a specific cultural and religious context.

Abstract

The island region, especially in urban areas, has geographical characteristics with limited land that is an obstacle to increasing food security and the community's economy. This condition requires a creative solution, namely the application of urban farming through hydroponic techniques to maximize the use of available resources. This service aims to develop urban agriculture through hydroponics to increase food security and the household economy in Jerambah Gantung Village, Pangkalpinang City. The methods used in this service are socialization, training, and mentoring for the Kenanga Women's Farmers Group (KWT), which consists of 12 women who are expected to be pioneers in the application of urban farming in Pangkapinang City. They are given knowledge and trained in urban farming practices, especially hydroponic techniques. The results of this service are an increase in the knowledge of KWT Kenanga members, as shown by an increase in the average pre-test and post-test results with an initial score of 70 to 95. Then, a skill increase was reflected in the harvest quantity, which increased by 37 percent, or originally 35 kg in the first harvest, to 48 kg in the second harvest. There is also an increase in community involvement and agricultural culture, which is marked by an increase in the implementation of independent hydroponics. Thus, this service not only provides direct benefits for KWT Kenanga members but is also expected to contribute to the development of broader urban farming in Pangkalpinang City.

Abstract

The growing competition in the e-commerce industry demands digital platforms to offer not only transactional convenience but also meaningful and enjoyable shopping experiences. As one of Indonesia’s largest e-commerce platforms, Tokopedia needs to implement marketing strategies that foster customer loyalty, particularly through Experiential Marketing. This study aims to analyze the influence of five dimensions of Experiential Marketing (Sense, Feel, Think, Act, and Relate) on the Repurchase Intention of Tokopedia users in Pangkalpinang City. A quantitative approach was adopted using descriptive and verificative methods. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 active Tokopedia users and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that all five dimensions of Experiential Marketing have a positive and significant influence on Repurchase Intention. Feel and Relate dimensions contributed most dominantly, followed by Think and Sense. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.772 indicates that 77.2% of the variation in Repurchase Intention is explained by these variables, supported by a strong correlation (R = 0.885). These findings affirm that positive customer experience through Experiential Marketing plays a vital role in strengthening loyalty and encouraging repeat purchases on digital commerce platforms.

Abstract

The reality shows that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a very important role in economic growth. Even MSMEs are the only micro institutions that have not been shaken by the monetary crisis that began in 1988. However, as one of the mainstay sectors of society, especially the lower-middle-class economic community, the role of MSMEs has not been maximized, so they have not been able to compete fully and, even worse, many MSMEs have gone out of business or are inactive. Many factors cause the inability of SMEs to compete, among others, due to low innovation and competitiveness, so they have not been able to win competition both in the national and international spheres. The decrease in the number of MSMEs from active to inactive is because these MSMEs are less able to survive in an increasingly fierce competition arena. Only MSMEs that survive are MSMEs that have creations and innovations according to the community’s needs. The inability to create creations and innovations is suspected that most MSME actors have a personality that lacks confidence due to their low managerial ability. If MSME actors have an Internal Locus of Control and high managerial abilities, MSME actors will be more creative and innovative. This research uses a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach descriptively and inferentially to analyze the LoC on the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pangkalpinang City with a total sample of 50 MSMEs. The analytical tool used in this research is to use a Likert scale scoring. Multiple linear regression is performed with the competitiveness of MSMEs as the dependent variable and LoC as the independent variable. The research results stated that the Internal Locus of Control (ILoC) of MSME actors in Pangkalpinang City was higher than External Locus of Control (ELoC) and Locus of Control had a significant and positive influence on the competitiveness of MSMEs in Pangkalpinang City.
