Abstract

In recent years, export of ornamental fish from Indonesia increased for every year in quantity and value. There are thirty eight companies with the ornamental fish export business. In this global competition era, the product quality stimulates company's competitiveness. This research has aim to see how far the TOM concept has been applied to improve the business performance of CV Banyu Biru. CV Banyu Biru hold a customer's satisfaction strategy for competing with competitors. The strategy is to fill up the customer's demand and satisfaction by serving and keeping product quality. We can see the problems of TOM and how far the TOM have been applied in this company by observing the company's quality management in relation with the indicators, principles, and the basic elements of TOM. In identifying the existing problem, the research use the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method by making hierarchy. The results of this research shows that there are five main problems. That the company always put in priority. These problems are product quality, product delivery timing, production continuity, product amount and production costs. The alternative for improvement are teamwork, training, benchmarking, information system, technology, product variation, and also the improvement in management info administration system. The priority of joined management perception to elements of TOM are company vision and mission, standardization, internal auditing, organization, facilities, human resources and training.

Abstract

Analisis Strategi Bisnis Ekspor Ikan Hias Air Tawar (Kasus di PT NAE, Jakarta) Aim of Business strategy analysis toward PT NAE on this research is to identify strengthens and weaknesses of internal and extemal factors of the company and recommend alternative strategies to the company as consideration for releasing essential policy related on fresh water ornamental fish business. Based on analysis through input matrix obtained scores above the average of 2,5, those are 2,545 for IFE and 2,651 for EFE. The scores show that PT NAE was enabling in using its internal strength and overcome its internal weakness to gain business opportunities and avoid treats. Based on analysis through matching matrix with SWOT, SPACE, IE and Grand Strategy analysis, result as altematives strategy was produced. The altemative strategies are product development and market penetration. Final step is making priority on recent altemative strategy. Based on as PM analysis. product development is being the 1st strategy to be implemented, and market penetration is being the 2nd. General description on implementing product development is to maintain consumer image toward fresh water omamental fish product and hold product quality and service. General description on market penetration is by doing prornotion strategy optimally to preserve rnarket share of company on targeted country.

Abstract

Oriental Fish is one of the pottential fisheries commodity, which is contribute devisas for the country. Palmas Omatipinis is one of the new introduction arlifidal fish in Indonesia. Thats why we should know the feasibility analysis as a plan to develop in Oannaga Fish Culture. The study shows that fanning of Palmas Omatipinis in the beginning level process at Darmaga Fish Culture, feasible to be develop in tenn of maril.et aspect, technique aspect, managerial aspect and finansial aspect. The result given by discount rates 4 % I periode for scenario 1, shows the NPV is Rp 39.448.333.58, Net BlC is 1,23, and IRR is 5,45 %. For scenario 2, NPV is Rp 40.783.n5,19 , Net B/C is 1,24 and IRR is 5,54 %. The sensitivity analysis for scenario 1 shows that the business is not feasible if the price decrease to 20,7 % and hatcing rate decrease to 6,3 %. For scenario 2 business is not feasible if the price decrease to 21,3 % and hatcing rate decrease to 6,4 %

Abstract

The Govemment of OKI Jakarta had built the new TPI (Tempat Pelelangan likan) in Muara Angke to replace the function of the old TPI. This new TPI have equipped an improving facility and service of quality cause of service and managerial problems of the old TPI. These problems are hygiene and sanitary, capacity of auction sale area and security. Success of TPI management service influenced of user subjective perception on it perceived quality. Therefore, measurement of satisfaction of the auction sale participants toward the care service attributes of TPI Muara Angke is required. This research is aimed to identify level of satisfaction of auction sale participants toward the service attributes of TPI, how is the management orientation of accurate service attributes in TPI Muara Angke, how is the quality of care service perceived by auction sale participants in TPI Muara Angke, and how is suitability of perception of auction sale participants toward the perceived quality in TPI Muara Angke. Result of the research showed that generally, auction sale participant feel satisfied with the performance care of TPI Muara Angke. Its shown in value of customer satisfaction index 0,73763 that caused of service quality improvement the new TPI Muara Angke which has more completely facility service. According auction sale participants, care service of new TPI Muara Angke is better than the old TPI Muara Angke. The auction sale participants between the new TPI Muara Angke and the old TPI Muara Angke gave different assessment about quality of each service' attributes. It means there's no suitability perceived quality between the new TPI Muara Angke and the old TPI Muara Angke. The auction sale participants have different perception about quality of service attributes both TPI.

Abstract

Nursery needs to be developed to strengthen the grouper as a superior commodity for the Seribu Islands Administrative District, Jakarta. This effort is carried out through the development of human resources (HR) and appropriate technology (AT), and hoped that the grouper nursery will become a new business unit in this district, where most of the area is sea. This activity aims to develop HR and AT for grouper nursery through training, piloting, and mentoring. This activity was carried out to 23 community members who are members of the three fish farmer groups. The training materials including the technical and management aspects of the grouper nursery. The piloting and mentoring of grouper nursery were carried out in parallel with the development of AT in the form of the application of garlic-meniran flour, and were carried out at the Sea Farming Center of PKSPL-IPB, Seribu Islands. The piloting includes preparing of cages, stocking of seeds, feeding, water quality and fish health management, sampling, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. The mentoring is carried out by serving participant visits to the center, interviews and meetings. After the training there was an increase in knowledge and skills of the participants, as well as the emergence of motivation to start a grouper nursery business. During the piloting and mentoring, the involvement and enthusiasm of the participants was relatively high and various aspects were discussed. The application of meniran-garlic flour in feeding on grouper nurseries can improve the feed conversion ratio, so that feed costs are more efficient. One of the participants has tried to run humpback grouper fish farming independently, and made a profit after two months of rearing.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem is a region that acts as a transition between land and sea. This ecosystem has ecological, socio-economic and physical functions. The decline in the quality and quantity of mangrove forests has resulted in very alarming impacts, such as increased abrasion, reduced fishing catches, seawater intrusion, and others. This study aims to analyze the biodiversity of mangrove ecosystem in the Randutatah coal. The results showed that mangrove ecosystems were dominated by Rhizophora stylosa species with the highest INP values in tillers and tree categories. Observations of fauna in the area found 2 types of mammals, 34 species of birds, 7 species of herpetofauna, and 9 species of insects. the wealth of bird species in this region is high. Phytoplankton composition is dominated by Bacillariophyceae class, zooplankton is dominated by crustacean class, and nekton is dominated by Mugilidae class. Mangrove conditions in Randutatah can increase biodiversity in these locations, as well as the condition of the waters around the mangrove ecosystem that become fertile so that it can be used by the community to catch fish or crabs that have an impact on the growth of the economic value of the community.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembenihan ikan patin, terutama dalam usaha skala kecil pada umumnya menggunakan kompor minyak tanah sebagai pemanas ruangan, agar tingkat kematian benih dapat ditekan. Kenaikan harga minyak tanah akhir-akhir ini, bahkan hilangnya minyak tanah di beberapa tempat, menjadi kendala dalam kegiatan pembenihan ikan patin ini. Oleh karena itu perlu dicari alternatif teknologi pengganti yang lebih efisien dalam penggunaan minyak tanah; dalam hal ini, menggunakan lampu petromak. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara finansial penggunaan lampu petromak sebagai pemanas ruangan pembenihan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa selama setahun dengan menggunakan kompor minyak tanah mampu memperoleh keuntungan sebesar Rp 52.996.455,56, nilai R/C sebesar 1,97 dan payback period selama 1,73 tahun. Sedangkan analisis usaha dengan menggunakan lampu petromak, diperoleh keuntungan sebesar Rp. 60.556.455,56, nilai R/C sebesar 2,28 dan payback period selama 1,52 tahun. Analisis finansial menghasilkan nilai NPV sebesar Rp 695.550.355,5, Net B/C sebesar 27,69% dan nilai IRR 457,26%. Usaha pembenihan ikan patin dengan menggunakan pemanas lampu petromak ini menjadi tidak layak untuk diusahakan jika terjadi kenaikan harga minyak tanah sebesar 1.161,87%, kenaikan harga pakan sebesar 1.228,65% dan penurunan harga benih sebesar 98,57%. Tittle: Financial Analysis of the used ‘Petromak’ as a Heater in Catfish HatcheryCatfish hatchery, especially in small-scale business is generally using primus stove as column heater in order to reduce mortality of seed produced. An increase in the price of kerosene recently, even the dissapearing kerosene in some place, has been becoming a constraint in this catfish hatchery. Therefore, an alternative technology by using ‘petromak’ in order to reduce the use of kerosene was taken into place. So that, this research was aimed to analyse financially the use of petromak lamp as room heater in hatchery. Results showed that the use of primus stove in hatchery enables to generate profit of Rp 52,996,455.56, a RC-ratio of 1.97 and payback period of 1.73 years. Meanwhile, the use of ‘petromak’ lamp enables to generate profit of Rp 60,556,455.56, a RC-ratio of 2.28 and payback period of 1.52 years. Financially, the latter produces NPV of Rp 695,550,355.5, net BC-ratio of 27.69% and IRR of 457.26%. The business will be loss whenever price of kerosene increases 1,161.87% or price of feed increases 1,228.65% or price of seed decreases 98.57%.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to analyse the effect of high density of ornamental fish bronze corydoras (Corydoras aeneus) culture on the growth and survival rate. Corydoras aeneus which weight 0.21 -0.23 gram and 1.84-1.90 cm standard lengths was cultured in the 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm aquarium sized and six litters’ volume in each. Random design was set with stocking density 20 fish L-1 (A) and stocking density 25 fish L-1 (B) with three replications. Fish was cultured for thirty five days and fed a commercial pellet every day at 08:00 am and 04:00 pm with the feeding rate 5%. The results showed that the weight gain and specific growth rate was not significant in both treatments, but the length gain and the specific length rate of B was nearly two times higher than A. The utilization of feed was more efficient for B. Survival rate of A (92.8%) was higher than of B (86.9%). Water quality such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, total ammonia nitrogen (TAN), nitrite, and nitrate were still in the tolerance limits for fish culture. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepadatan tinggi pada budi daya ikan hias koridoras (Corydoras aeneus) terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup. Ikan yang digunakan adalah ikan hias koridoras berbobot 0,210,23 gram dan panjang baku 1,84-1,90 cm yang dipelihara pada akuarium berdimensi 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm, volume air enam liter per akuarium. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan perlakuan padat tebar 20 ekor liter-1 (A) dan padat tebar 25 ekor liter-1 (B), tiga kali ulangan. Ikan dipelihara selama 35 hari dan diberi pakan pelet ko-mersial setiap hari pukul 08.00 dan pukul 16.00, pakan diberikan sebanyak 5% dari bobot ikan. Hasil penelitian menun-jukkan bahwa pertumbuhan bobot mutlak dan laju pertumbuhan bobot harian pada kedua perlakuan tidak berbeda nya-ta, namun pertumbuhan panjang mutlak dan laju pertumbuhan panjang harian perlakuan B lebih tinggi hampir dua kali lipat dibanding perlakuan A. Pemanfataan pakan pada perlakuan B lebih efisien. Nilai kelangsungan hidup perlakuan A (92,78%) lebih tinggi daripada perlakuan B (86,89%). Kualitas air selama pemeliharaan yaitu suhu, pH, oksigen terla-rut, amonia nitrogen total, nitrit, dan nitrat pada kedua perlakuan masih dalam batas toleransi untuk budi daya ikan.

Abstract

Efforts to improve the production performance of clown loach in recirculate aquaculture system can be done by increasing stocking density and water discharge. This study aimed to analyze the effect of increasing stocking density and water discharge on production performance, stress response and water quality in order to obtain the best stocking density and water discharge to obtain maximum profit in a short time. A factorial completely randomized design with two factors, i.e. the stocking density of 1, 2, and 3 fish L-1 and the water discharge of 0,05; 0,10; 0,15 L s-1 was performed. The volume of water used in each aquarium was 48 L and using a ½ inch faucet stop to regulate the water discharge from the inlet pipe. Clown fish fed Tubifex sp. with a feeding frequency of two times a day according to the treatment for 60 days. The result indicates that there was no interaction between the two factors on production performance, payback period, and R/C ratio. Stocking density has a significant effect on specific growth rate, absolute growth rate of individual weight, feeding consumption rate and R/C ratio of clown loach. Stocking density and water discharge had an interaction on the visual color of pectoral and caudal fins of clown loach. Different stocking densities with the combination of water discharge in this study resulted that the water quality were within tolerable range for clown loach so that they did not experience stress, as well as high production and business performance. It is recommended to intensify clown loach with a stocking density of 3 fish L-1 and 0,15 L s-1‑ of water discharge. Abstrak Upaya intensifikasi ikan botia melalui peningkatan padat tebar dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kinerja produksinya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh peningkatan padat tebar dan debit air terhadap kinerja produksi, respons stres dan kualitas air, guna mendapatkan padat tebar dan debit air terbaik sehingga diperoleh keuntungan maksimal dalam waktu yang singkat. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial dengan dua faktor, yaitu padat tebar 1, 2, dan 3 ekor L-1 serta debit air 005; 0,10; dan 0,15 L s-1. Volume air yang digunakan pada masing-masing akuarium sebanyak 48 L dan menggunakan stop keran ½ inci untuk mengatur debit air pada pipa inlet. Pakan Tubifex sp. diberikan sebanyak dua kali sehari sesuai dengan perlakuan selama pemeliharaan 60 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara faktor perlakuan padat tebar dan debit air terhadap seluruh parameter kinerja produksi, payback period, dan R/C ratio. Faktor perlakuan padat tebar berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan bobot spesifik, laju pertumbuhan mutlak bobot individu, nisbah konversi pakan dan R/C ratio. Padat tebar dan debit memiliki interaksi terhadap warna visual sirip dada dan sirip ekor ikan botia. Kombinasi padat tebar dan debit air berbeda dalam penelitian ini menghasilkan kualitas air yang dapat ditoleransi ikan botia sehingga tidak mengalami stres dan meningkatkan kinerja produksi serta analisis usaha. Berdasarkan penelitian, direkomendasikan untuk melakukan upaya intensifikasi ikan botia dengan padat tebar 3 ekor L-1 dan debit air 0,15 L s-1.

Abstract

Indonesian leaffish, Pristolepis grootii (Bleeker, 1852), is an undomesticated freshwater fish species native to the rivers, flooded swamps, and tributaries of Indonesia. The fish is mainly captured for consumption. In order to prevent its extinction and supply its growing demands, the artificial breeding of the fish should be developed. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum dose of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analog (LHRHa) for stimulating the female P. grootii gonadal development at a dosage of 0, 1, 10, and 50 µg kg-1 of fish. Female fish (20.0 ± 0.6 g) were adapted for 30 days in the rearing environment and then separated into 12 aquariums with six fish per aquarium. Fish were then reared for another 21 days and fed with Tubifex sp. The LHRHa injection was conducted twice on day-7 and 14. Fish bodyweight, gonadosomatic index, gonad histology, blood estradiol-17â, and FSH-â and LH-â gene expression were evaluated at day 0, 7, 14, and 21. The results showed that the injection of the LHRHa hormone stimulated the development of fish gonads and was better achieved with a higher concentration of LHRHa. The best treatment was observed by the administration of 50 µg kg-1 of LHRHa that produced the fastest development among all treatments. This study demonstrated that the LHRHa induction could potentially stimulate the gonadal development of the newly domesticated fish. To our knowledge, this is the first study that reported the success of the induction of female gonad development in the Indonesian leaffish P. grooti.KEYWORDS:
