This study aims to find out the influence of crossword puzzles on vocabulary mastery among the second semester students of the English Education Department of Muhammadiyah University Metro. The design of this research is experimental, which means that the research method requires two variables to compare the influencing factors. The data were quantitative in nature. Data collection was performed through the implementation of pre-test and post-test. The research chose the second semester students of the English Education Department of Muhammadiyah University Metro as the population. The students were divided into two groups, namely experimental and control groups. The experimental group consisted of 16 students. The data were collected with the implementation of pre-test and post-test as the instruments. The data analysis showed that the mean score of the post-test was higher than that of the pre-test (85.12 > 50.50). It showed that the t ratio was higher than t table (16.651 > 2.131) and the sig. 2 tailed was lower than sig. level (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This means that the use of crossword puzzles influences students' vocabulary mastery.

In learning English, vocabulary is one of the language aspects and is the most important component as a communication tool that students must master as a basis for mastering English. Vocabulary means basic knowledge and useful material in the form of words that are always used by students in learning a particular language. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of using the fly swatter game on the learning and vocabulary mastery of class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Metro. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The researcher used the fly swatter game as a teaching technique in the experimental class, while the conventional teaching technique will used in the controlled class. The results of the study using hypothesis testing show that the first test uses a significance level of 5% or a significance level of 0.05. sig. (2-tailed). The t-count (1.420) is lower than the t-table (2,000) with a significance of (0.165) > 0.05. Therefore, it can be said that teaching English vocabulary mastery using the Fly Swatter Game is effective but not significant.

Learning vocabulary is the important aspect for the students when they are studying English. The students need fresh method to make them enjoy in learning process. The teacher should be able to deliver the material well. Using media appropriately is also needed for teachers. The objectives of this research are to know whether English song can improve the students’ vocabulary at the second semester of English education study program in University of Muhammadiyah Metro, to reveal whether English song English song influence the students’ motivation at the second semester of English education study program in learning process, to portray how much English song influence the students’ vocabulary mastery and students’ motivation at the second semester of English education study program in academic year 2015/2016. The population in this research is 40 students. It is consist 2 classes and each class consists of 20 students..The result of the data analysis proved that the value of t-test (tobs is 8,742 and ttable is 2,021). It means that tobs is higher than ttable(8,742>2,021). Based on the criteria for testing hypothesis was if the value of t obtained is higher than t table at significant level 0,05 the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and hypothesis alternative (HI) is accepted. After viewing the result of One Sample t-test, the writer came to conclusion that “there was significant Influence of English Song Toward Students’ Vocabulary Mastery and students’ motivation at the second semester of English education Study Program in the Muhammadiyah University of Metro Academic Year 2015/2016”.

This study aims to determine whether the Taboo game has an effect and significant difference on students’ English speaking ability in the beginner class at Yos Sudarso High School. The research employed a quasi-experimental design, involving a population of 73 students from the beginner class of Yos Sudarso High School academic year 2023/2024. The study conducted in experimental class which consisted of 24 students. The research instrument was an oral test, administered both before and after the treatmenn, to assess students’ speaking ability. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 20. The results revealed that the significance level (2-tailed) <0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This confirms that the use of Taboo games in teaching speaking is effective. Additionally, the independent t-test showed a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, demonstrating that teaching speaking using the Taboo game has a positive effect on improving students' speaking ability. Therefore, the research concludes that the Taboo game has a significant and positive effect on the speaking abilities of students in the beginner class of Yos Sudarso High School. The findings of this study imply that incorporating interactive activities like the Taboo game can enhance language learning outcomes, suggesting that educators should integrate similar games to improve students' speaking ability.

Writing can be said that it is very important for the students, because the students can express their ideas and cxperience in writing form. The teachers should always look for which one suitable technique to be applied to the students, in order to make the students interested in learning writing, they are Draw Label Caption (DLC) and Drill Technique. In this research, the researcher compared DLC and Drill techniques that can be used to improve students’ writing ability. In this experimental research, there were 3 variables. That are 1). Draw Label Caption (DLC) technique as the first independent variable. 2). Drill technique as the second independent variable. 3) Writing skill as the dependent variable. The method that used in this research was test. Students were asked to write the text in English based on predetermined theme. In this study, researcher used pretest and Posttest. Based on the data analysis the researcher got the result of based on the calculation, it was found that: 1) F-ratio = 7.5 and F-table at significance level 1% was 7.08 and at significance 5% was 4.00. At this point the researcher found that F-ratio was bigger than F-table. The researcher concluded that there was difference of students’ English writing ability through DLC and Drill technique. 2) Fratio = 37.7 at the same signifficance level. In other words, there was difference of students’ English writing ability through DLC and Drill technique

Artikel ini menyajikan sebuah program pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi guru Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Kota Metro. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran yang berkualitas dan berdiferensiasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kombinasi antara gamification (unsur permainan) dan edutainment (pendidikan yang menghibur) untuk menciptakan proses pelatihan yang menarik, interaktif, dan efektif. Melalui serangkaian lokakarya, mentoring, dan praktik pembelajaran, guru-guru dibekali dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital, mengembangkan bahan ajar yang kontekstual, serta menerapkan strategi pembelajaran yang akomodatif terhadap keberagaman gaya belajar siswa. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam penguasaan materi, keterampilan pedagogis, serta kepercayaan diri guru dalam merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi penguatan kompetensi guru di wilayah lain untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan secara berkelanjutan.

This research was conducted in response to the ongoing challenges faced by students in learning English writing skills in non-English-speaking countries, particularly in making writing engaging and effective. The study focuses on the use of Padlet as a digital tool to improve students' personal letter-writing skills. The purpose of this research is to determine whether Padlet significantly improves students' writing scores and affects their overall writing abilities. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group was employed. The participants were grade XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekalongan, divided into an experimental class using Padlet and a control class using the conventional method. The research used writing tests as the main instrument, assessed through five aspects: content, organization, vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, then analyzed using t-tests to determine statistical significance. The findings show that students taught using Padlet scored higher in all aspects of writing, indicating a significant improvement and positive effect on their writing skills. It can be concluded that Padlet is an effective medium for enhancing writing quality and student engagement. This research suggests that teachers should consider integrating interactive digital tools, such as Padlet, into writing instruction to overcome challenges and boost students' motivation and performance.

The aim of this research is to find out the effect of using short stories through wattpad on reading comprehension achievement at the tenth grade science of Man 1 Metro. Wattpad is an application-type social media platform for people who want to read or write stories. This research used quasi experimental design. The subject of this research is the tenth grade science students at Man 1 Metro year 2023. The result data analysis indicates that value t obtained is higher than the value of t table (2.990>2.042). And the significant 0.004 is lower than 0.05. The conclusion is teaching English using short stories through wattpad is effective to increase students’ reading comprehension.

Speaking is a form of communication that involves various factors that can influence a person's motivation to learn it. These factors include family dynamics such as parental attention, family relationships, home environment, economic status, and cultural background. Additionally, the educational background of the parents can also shape a student's motivation to learn speaking. This research aims to find out the correlation between parents’ educational background and students motivations in Learning Speaking of the students of English education at Muhammadiyah University of Metro. This research utilized a correlation research design by 40 students to become sample of this research. This research used a questionnaire to determine student motivation and parents educational background. The results of this research indicate that there is no correlation between parents' educational background and students' motivations in Learning Speaking with the Correlation Coefficient value is smaller than 0 (-0.93 <0), while the sig value is greater than 0.05 (0.451>0.05) which means that there is no significant positive correlation between the educational background of parents and students' motivations. In conclusion, this research underlines the complexity of factors influencing students' motivation and highlights the need for further approaches to improve learning outcomes in speaking skills. Future researchers should examine additional variables that may influence students’ motivation to learn speaking skills, such as socioeconomic status, teacher-student relationships, and extracurricular activities.
