Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep, terutama pada konsep pemanasan global karena merupakan salah satu materi yang sulit dan ada beberapa konsep yang dianggap abstrak oleh siswa, sehingga dapat menimbulkan persepsi yang berbeda oleh siswa serta dapat menimbulkan miskonsepsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi siswa menggunakan tes diagnostik (two-tier test) setelah pembelajaran model predict-observe-explain (POE), kemudian menganalisis penurunan miskonsepsi siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 5 Kota Sukabumi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan desain penelitian one-group-pretest-posttest Design. Sampel yang digunakan diambil dari populasi dengan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu kelas VII A dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 41 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes diagnostik (two-tier test) yaitu soal pilihan ganda dengan dua tahap pemilihan jawaban, dan lembar observasi. Instrumen soal terdiri dari 10 soal masing-masing dengan 3 pilihan jawaban dan 4 pilihan alasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat miskonsepsi pada saat pretest. Penurunan miskonsepsi siswa setelah pembelajaran model POE adalah rata-rata 66% dan tiap konsep adalah 64,98%. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada pembelajaran POE ini dapat dijadikan atlternatif pembelajaran untuk mengurangi miskonsepsi dapat dilihat dari nilai siswa antara sebelum pembelajaran (pretest) dan setelah pembelajaran posttestyangmenunjukkan penurunan miskonsepsi.Kata Kunci: Tes Diagnostik (Two-Tier Test), ModelPredict-Observe-Explain(POE), Miskonsepsi, Pemanasan Global

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan kolaborasi siswa pada konsep sistem pernapasan manusia berdasarkan  peer assessment antar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deksriptif kualitatif. Populasi subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 1 Sukaraja tahun ajaran 2019/2020, dengan sample acak sebanyak  11  siswa karena adanya pembatasan kegiatan pembelajaran akibat adanya pandemic covid-19. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini terdiri dari observasi lapangan, pengisian angket dan penilaian  sesuai rubric oleh siswa serta dokumentasi selama penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan penilaian menggunakan peer assessment kemampuan kolaborasi siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 1 Sukaraja sudah cukup, hal tersebut diketahui berdasarkan hasil presentase rata-rata ke lima indikator keterampilan kolaborasi sebesar 39,97% hasil rata-rata ini termasuk kedalam kategori cukup. Kategori yang cukup ini, menjelaskan bahwa siswa dalam berkolaborasi dengan teman sekelompoknya sudah cukup. Siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran pada konsep sistem pernapasan, siswa juga memberikan repon positif terhadap penilaian keterampilan kolaborasi menggunakan peer assessment, karena dapat mengetahui dan menilai keterampilan kolaborasi yang dimiliki

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemunculan jenis pertanyaan yang diajukan mahasiswa magang di SMA Kota Sukabumi berdasarkan taksonomi bloom revisi pada konsep pencemaran lingungan. Objek penelitian adalah tigaorang calon guru biologi yang mengajar di sejumlah SMA Kota Sukabumi Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persentase jenis pertanyaan yang diajukan mahasiswa magang atau dari tiga calon guru rata-rata menggunakan pertanyaan tingkat rendah (Lower-Order Thinking Skills) yaitu pada mahasiswa magang ke satu pada aspek kognitif C1 faktual 16,66% dan C1 konseptual 16,66%, sedangkan aspek kognitif C2 konseptual 50%, dan aspek kognitif C3 prosedural 16,66%. Pada hasil persentase jenis pertanyaan mahasisswa magang ke dua pada aspek kognitif C1 dan aspek pengetahuan faktual 28,57%, C1 konseptual 14,28%, dan C2 faktual 14,28%, C2 konseptual 42,85%, kemudian persentase pertanyaan tingkat tinggi pada aspek kognitif C6 dan aspek pengetahuan konseptual 14,28%. Lalu pada hasil persentase mahasiswa ke tiga menunjukan aspek kognitif C1 faktual 42,85%,C1 konseptual 14,28%. Aspek kognitif C2 konseptual 14,28%, sedangkan aspek kognitif C5 prosedural 14,28%. Rata-rata persentase kemunculan jenis pertanyaan yang diajukan mahasiswa magang masih tergolong menggunakan pertanyaan tingkat rendah yaitu dari C1sampai C3 meskipun dari hasil penelitian menunjukan ada kemunculan meggunakan pertanyaan tingkat tinggi. Kata Kunci: Jenis Pertanyaan, Mahasiswa Magang, Taksonomi Bloom Revisi

Abstract

The ability of understanding important concepts held by educators and learners. This ability is fundamental in achieving one of the outcomes of learning. Their understanding of the concept of ownership is the ability of a person can use in solving a problem that is related to the concept in everyday life. This descriptive study aims to obtain a description of the conceptual understanding of prospective biology educator students through the use of peer and self-assessment in class discussions. The research subjects were 26 prospective Biology educator students of the 2019/2020 academic year who contracted the human body anatomy physiology course. The instruments used consisted of peer and self assessment sheets, lecturer observation sheets and conceptual understanding questions. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the average peer assessment score was greater than the self assessment, where the peer assessment was in the moderate category (49%) and the self assessmet was in the poor category (34%). There were only 10 students (38.46%) who were in conformity between peer and self assessment with adequate and insufficient categories. The discrepancy was found in 16 students (61.54%) with the category enough, less and very less. The ability to understand the concept of students on each indicator shows different percentage mean. The highest percentage of concept understanding ability indicators is found in the indicators of explaining the concept with its own sentence structure about something that is read or heard clearly / concretely by 64% (Good), while the lowest percentage of indicators of concept comprehension ability is found in the indicators able to connect symbolic forms (pictures, tables, concept maps, diagrams, graphs, mathematical equations, and other formulas) in concepts with other concepts of 51% (Enough).

Abstract

This survey research is to determine the profile of the implementation of the practicum assessment carried out and the ability of inquiry of prospective Biology teacher students. The subjects of this study were 19 biology education students class 2017/2018 in semester 3 at UMMI who contracted the Invertebrate Zoology practicum course. The instruments used include observation sheets, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis was performed through descriptive analysis using percentage techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the practicum assessment included: 1) the assessment carried out in the form of performance appraisals and pre-lab quizzes, summative tests 2) practicum learning that was carried out tended to be subjective in nature, which was a cook book; 3) assignments given in the practicum in the form of making journals and practicum reports. In addition, almost all of the students' inquiry abilities could be accessed in the practical assessment but it was not optimal.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the metacognitive abilities of junior high school students in Kota Sukabumi. Metacognitive abilities are the students' ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate the students' learning process. In learning science, metacognitive skills are needed such as planning, information organizing, and monitoring the understanding of learning. The research type was descriptive with a purposive sampling technique. This research was done at Junior High School of 13 Sukabumi of 2019-2020 academic year. The instruments were measured by using the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). The data categorized into four criteria; very good, good, enough, poor, and very poor. The study shows that the criteria for the abilities of the students are 55% for poor criteria, 39% for enough criteria, and 6% (as many as 2 people) for good criteria. The conclusion of the data is metacognitive abilities of the students are still lacking, suggesting the need for improvement in the learning process both in the assessment and learning model.

Abstract

Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) is knowledge of the material and how to teach it. The teacher uses the textbook as a reference when implementing the learning process. Therefore, the teacher's book must conform to the PCK component. The purpose of this study was to study the percentage of PCK components in the teacher's book. The research method used in this research is descriptive method with the subject of research by selecting chapters that enter the organ system, namely the human digestive system, human blood circulation system, human respiratory system and human excretion system. Based on the results of research that has been analyzed shows the emergence of PCK components in the teacher's book related to the 24.8% Natural Science meeting, the knowledge of the Natural Sciences curriculum 46.3%, the knowledge of 53.6% student understanding and the knowledge of the 54% Natural Science learning strategies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of online assessment in assessing the concept and self-efficacy of high school biology material. The research method used was descriptive qualitative research. The study population was high school students in Sukabumi Regency. The samples used were 76 students of class X and XI in Sukabumi Regency and 2 Biology teachers. Data collection instruments in the form of interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the student's questionnaire had a percentage of 68.11 (fair enough category), meaning that the implementation of the assessment for mastering the concepts and self-efficacy of students was quite good. The results of teacher interviews stated that the Assessments carried out were not varied due to challenges in daring learning. The bloom taxonomy used by Biology teachers at SMAN 1 Jampang Tengah in measuring concept mastery was C1, C2, C3, and C4 and not used C5, and C6.  In addition, the teacher assessed peer-to-peer that made students understand the material being taught and affect student self-efficacy.  It appears that the implementation of online assessment at the Sukabumi Regency Senior High School is already in the good category. It might need innovation and improvement in the future to control students' concepts and self-efficacy.

Abstract

This descriptive study was conducted with the aim to determine the emergence of biological problems in class XE in terms of the scientific knowledge domain of scientific literacy covering aspects of content/content, procedural and epistemic. The sample of this study consisted of 295 questions contained in the 2009 edition of BSE Biology Class X book, determined by purposive sampling technique which included examples of questions and exercises. The instrument used in this study is a document analysis document about the domain of scientific knowledge of scientific literacy. The results of the problem analysis showed that the aspect of content had the highest percentage appearance of 85.42% (excellent category) compared to the procedural aspects of 9.83% (very poor) and epistemic aspects of 1.36% (less). Based on these results it can be concluded that the domains of scientific literacy scientific knowledge contained in the class X BSE book are not balanced evenly so that the distribution of the question needs to be rearranged.
