Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi dan pendampingan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah melalui maggot Hermetia illucens dan menerapkan PHBS dalam pelaksanaannya. Mitra yang terlibat meliputi sebanyak 25 warga RW 06/RT 04 kelurahan Limusnunggal Nanggeleng kecamatan Cibeureum Kota Sukabumi yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengabdian yang diterapkan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui enam tahap, antara lain: 1) tahap pemilihan mitra, 2) tahap sosialisasi kegiatan, 3) tahap pelatihan, 4) tahap aplikasi, dan 5) tahap monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil yang  didapat dari kegiatan pengabdian ini antara lain: 1) Terbentuknya kelompok mitra yang akan memberikan informasi terkait pengetahuan tentang zero waste, maggot dan perilaku hidup bersih sehat (PHBS), 2) Meningkatnya pemahaman peserta kegiatan dengan N-Gain kategori sedang, 4) peserta kegiatan dapat membuat media pengembangbiakan maggot Hermetia illucens dengan standar yang baik dan mengaplikasikan PHBS dalam pembuatannya, sehingga dapat dijadikan media alternatif pengelolaan sampah organik di lingkungannya, 5) adanya respon positif dari peserta kegiatan dalam mengikuti pengabdian ini.

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to determine the reasoning of the formal-post formal operations of biology teacher candidates in three aspects of lectures. The research sample consisted of 76 students who took part in the 2019/2020 academic year lectures which were taken using the purposive technique. The sample consisted of 29 students in the General Biology practicum subject, 24 students in the invertebrates practicum subject, and 23 students in the vertebrate zoology practicum subject. The data was collected through a test technique using formal-post-formal operational reasoning questions that were developed by themselves and had met the constructive and empirical valid criteria. Data analysis regarding the level of formal-post formal operational reasoning was carried out using the percentage correct score technique obtained for each item so that the correct score was obtained from all students. The results showed that there was a difference in the percentage level of formal-post formal operational reasoning for each level of student lectures. The highest to the lowest level of reasoning was obtained by students who took the vertebrates zoology practicum course by 67%, invertebrates zoology practicum by 67%, and general biology practicum by 17%. Also, students' formal operational reasoning in each subject tends to be lower when compared to their post-formal operational reasoning. The most common indicators of formal reasoning among the three aspects of the lecture are proportional reasoning, and indicators that are lacking are probabilistic and correlational.

Abstract

This study aims to ascertain whether there is an impact on students' problem-solving skills and digital literacy. The research method uses Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Fifteen students each from the experimental class and the control class made samples. The experimental class received an Interactive Demonstration model with the help of games. Tests of problem-solving skills and digital literacy and surveys asking respondents about their responses were used to obtain data. The analysis findings suggest that game-assisted Interactive Demonstration models can support and significantly influence high school students' capacity for problem-solving and digital literacy regarding immune system materials. The results showed that students in experimental classes on immune system content had high problem-solving skills, as seen by an average post-test score of 82, with an average N-Gain score of 0.74. According to the results of the hypothesis test, H1 is accepted because the significance value of Sig (2-tailed) is 0.000. The average score for digital literacy at level 4 is 56.77, with criteria usually meeting expectations. The average score on the response questionnaire was 69.33, which is excellent. Abstract

Students' critical thinking abilities are still low for both female and male students. Initial data results obtained from the pretest, female students with a percentage of 35% and male students with a percentage of 27%. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the project-based learning model assisted by the flipped classroom on gender-based junior high school students' critical thinking abilities on the concept of water pollution. This research uses a quantitative type of research with a sample of class VII students at SMPN 6 Sukabumi City, even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The instrument used is a critical thinking skills test. The results obtained show that the average posttest score for female students is 74.2 ± 12.6 and male students is 69.0 ± 11.0. Both of them have increased from the pretest and posttest, but the female scores are superior. The percentage per ability indicator based on gender in indicators 1,2,3 shows that women are superior to men. However, in indicators 4 and 5, women and men are the same. Overall, the data shows that there is no significant difference in learning using the Project Based Learning model assisted by Flipped Classroom between female and male students. However, based on indicators, female students are superior to male students.

Abstract

Keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah merupakan keterampilan yang perlu dibekalkan kepada peserta didik. Melatihkan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dapat dibantu dengan memanfaatkan media animasi berbasis audio visual. Namun demikan analisis media penting dilakukan sebelum media animasi digunakan untuk mengetahui apakah media yang tayangkan mengandung kompone-komponen argumentasi ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemunculan komponen argumentasi ilmiah dalam media audio visual anime Moyashimon sesi 1 episode 2, 3, dan 5 pada materi bioteknologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar analisis dokumen yang memuat informasi seperti cuplikan cuplikan, deskripsi, analisis kurikulum, analisis konsep, analisis model Toulmin dalam bentuk persentase. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakkan data primer berupa anime Moyashimon sesi 1 dan data sekunder yaitu literatur yang mendukung data primer tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam anime Moyashimon sesi 1 episode 2, 3, dan 5 terdapat cuplikan yang menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan kurikulum berdasarkan Permendikbud No. 37 Tahun 2018. Analisis konsep bersumber pada studi literatur yang mendukung. Kemudian pada analisis komponen argumentasi ilmiah dalam media audio visual anime Moyashimon sesi 1 pada materi bioteknologi menunjukkan persentase frekuensi kemunculan cuplikan komponen Claim sejumlah 25%, Warrant sebesar 30%, Data 25% dan Backing 20%.

Abstract

Salah satu kemampuan literasi abad 21 adalah literasi sains. Literasi sains siswa Indonesia dari tahun 2000 hingga 2018 masih di bawah rata-rata, menurut PISA 2018. Ini karena literasi, yang sangat penting untuk kehidupan sehari-hari, tetapi kurang mendapat prioritas di ruang kelas Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan antara hasil ujian literasi sains siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pre-experimental dengan desain tipe one-group pre-test post-test design. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kinerja anak laki-laki dan perempuan berbeda dalam tes literasi sains. Pada kategori sangat baik, nilai literasi sains siswa laki-laki sebesar 69, sedangkan pertumbuhan literasi sains siswa putri sebesar 83 juga sangat baik. Berdasarkan perbedaan tersebut, dapat dikatakan bahwa siswa perempuan mendapatkan lebih banyak meningkat daripada siswa laki-laki dalam hal literasi sainsnya.

Abstract

Kebijakan belajar secara online telah merubah pola serta kebiasan pembelajaran yang selama ini dilakukan. Kebiasaan baru dalam pembelajaran ini memberikan peluang bagi guru untuk melakukan penelitian untuk mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran online. Hal ini mendorong program studi pendidikan biologi FKIP universitas muhammadiyah sukabumi untuk melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PPM) untuk menjembatani guru melakukan penelitian. Kegiatan PPM ini merupakan bentuk aktifitas tridarma yang bisa dilakukan oleh dosen di perguruan tinggi. Bentuk PPM yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah terhadap Guru IPA SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) se-Kabupaten Sukabumi (n=30). Pelatihan ini dibutuhkan oleh para guru untuk mendorong produktifitas penelitian guru khususnya pada masa pandemi serta mendorong guru melakukan publikasi pada jurnal imiah bereputasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, pelatihan dan coaching clinic penulisan artikel untuk terbit di jurnal bereputasi. Materi yang diberikan dalam pelatihan ini adalah: Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Trend Penelitian Pendidikan IPA, Penulisan Artikel Ilmiah dan Mendeley Hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah meningkatnya kemampuan guru dalam melakukan penelitian dan dapat menulis karya ilmiah dan mengirimkannya ke jurnal nasional bereputasi. The online learning policy has changed the learning patterns and habits that have previously been carried out. This new habit in learning provides opportunities for teachers to research to develop learning strategies in online learning. This encourages the biology education study program at FKIP Muhammadiyah University Sukabumi to carry out community service (PPM) to provide a bridge for teachers to conduct research. This PPM activity is a form of tridharma activity that can be carried out by lecturers at universities. The form of PPM carried out was in the form of scientific writing training for junior high school (Junior High School) science teachers throughout Sukabumi Regency (n=30). This training is needed by teachers to encourage teacher research productivity, especially during the pandemic and to encourage teachers to publish in reputable scientific journals. The methods used are lectures, training, and coaching clinics for writing articles to be published in reputable journals. The material provided in this training is Classroom Action Research, Science Education Research Trends, Scientific Article Writing, and Mendeley. The result of this training is an increase in teachers' ability to conduct research and be able to write scientific papers and send them to reputable national journals.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah lingkungan yang harus segera diatasi adalah sampah rumah tangga sebagai penyumbang sumber sampah terbesar yaitu 39,37% (SIPSN KLHK, 2022). Tujuan dari Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik lingkungan hidup yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi adalah melaksanakan pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk mengatasi masalah sampah rumah tangga. Pelaksanaan Kegiatan di bulan Juli-Agustus 2023, berlokasi di satu Desa di Kabupaten Sukabumi dan 3 Kelurahan di Kota Sukabumi. Metode yang Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan pelatihan dan praktek bersama yang difasilitasi oleh mahasiswa KKN dan dosen. Hasil kegiatan adalah adanya edukasi dan penyadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga dengan memilah sampah organik dan an organik, pembentukan pos lingkungan hidup, sosialisasi program sodakoh sampah atau bank sampah, penyuluhan dampak sampah terhadap Kesehatan, pelatihan pemanfaatan sampah an organik menjadi ecobrick dan penggunaannya serta pelatihan pemanfaatan sampah organik menjadi ecoenzym dan pupuk organik cair (POC).

Abstract

Background: This study aims to determine the influence of applying the Inquiry Lesson learning model on the scientific reasoning abilities of Grade X students. Method: This type of research uses a quasi-experiment. The sample for this research was A total of 55 students in the science program grade 10 at one of the Madrasah Aliyah Public Schools (MAN) were involved. The instrument used is in the form of scientific reasoning ability test questions in the form of reasoned multiple-choice questions of 15 questions. The research design used is the Non-equivalent Control Group. The second instrument uses a student response questionnaire to learning using the inquiry lesson learning model, which consists of 12 questions. Results: The average N-Gain score was 0.48 in the moderate category, and the scientific reasoning abilities of students in the control class produced an average pretest score of 56.12 and a post-test average score of 70.13 with an average score of 70.13. N-Gain score of 0.32. The hypothesis test obtained a significance value of sig (2-tailed) 0.004, then H0 was rejected, and H1 was accepted. The emergence of scientific reasoning abilities of experimental class students on each indicator varies but generally has an N-Gain score in the moderate category. Student response questionnaires regarding the inquiry lesson learning model showed an average score in the excellent class (61-80). Conclusion: the conclusion in this study is that there is an increase in inquiry lesson learning on students' scientific reasoning abilities in Grade X ecosystem material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui signifikansi dari pengaruh model Argument Driven Inquiry berbantuan Argument Mapping terhadap komunikasi sains peserta didik dalam konsep materi pencemaran lingkungan, dengan urgensinya karena besarnya tuntutan di abad 21 untuk memiliki keterampilan yang mumpuni yaitu kemampuan berkomunikasi (Communication), berkolaborasi (Collaboration), berpikir kritis (Critical Thingking) dan kreatif (Creativity) yang perlu dibekalkan kepada peserta didik untuk menghadapi era global. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII MTs Nurul Huda (YASPIN) Tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan sampel penelitian di VII B. sejumlah 21 orang dengan metode penelitian pra-eksperimental. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu soal uraian sebanyak 7 soal dan lembar skala sikap. Data penelitian diuji secara parametric menggunakan uji normalitas dan homogenitas dan terakhir hipotesis penelitian menggunakan normalitas dan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model Argument Driven Inquiry terhadap kemampuan komunikasi sains nilai rata-rata tertinggi yaitu kadar pengetahuan (content knowledge) dan nilai terkecil yaitu kategori kognitif (cognitive categories).
