Abstract

Introduction: Severe mental disorders in adulthood have various risk factors and causes. Childhood sexual abuse (CSA) is a risk factor that triggers developmental disorders and causes mental disorders in adulthood. This case report aims to present a patient with schizophrenia with a history of childhood sexual abuse and same-sex relationship. Case presentation: A young woman, a college student, came to the psychiatric unit of Cattleya Mental Health Center with her partner. Patients present with complaints of frequent self-harm and attempted suicide. The patient often feels voices telling her to scratch her hands and bang her head, saying that everyone in the world is trying to threaten her life. A mental state examination revealed that the patient's self-care was very poor and tended to be apathetic. Patients tend to be indifferent to the examiner, occasionally laughing and talking without direction (tangential). Her mood was elevated, affect was inappropriate. The patient experienced an auditory hallucination. Her risk factors include being born into a broken family, being an unwanted child, and was taken care of by a distant family (grandmother). As a child, the patient was raped by her uncle (a law enforcer) and was threatened if she told other family members. The patient was then treated with the oral antipsychotic olanzapine 5 mg daily and asked for a weekly follow-up. Patients are allowed to outpatient with supervision from her boarding friends and her girlfriend. Conclusion: Handling schizophrenia patients involves a multidisciplinary team starting from the introduction of risk factors to the selection of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the da'wah strategy of the Pendakwah Keren Community (KPK) through the slogan "Ikhlas Ruhnya Dakwah" (Sincerity is the Spirit of Da'wah) in South Sulawesi. The focus of this study is on how this community interprets and implements the value of sincerity as the spirit of da'wah in its activities, and how this strategy shapes a positive image in the eyes of the community. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of KPK activities in various regions in South Sulawesi. The results show that the KPK implements six main strategic steps in carrying out the slogan "Ikhlas Ruhnya Dakwah": internalization of the value of sincerity through spiritual regeneration, implementation of social da'wah without expecting anything in return, program selection based on the value of sincerity, leadership that exemplifies sincerity, evaluation based on intention rather than outward achievements, and maintenance of sincerity through dhikr and muhasabah. The urgency of developing the KPK's da'wah strategy is driven by socio-cultural changes in society, internal community challenges, the need to strengthen the implementation of the slogan's values, expansion into marginalized areas, and the professionalization of da'wah without losing its spiritual essence. The strengths of the KPK's strategy include an emphasis on spiritual values that distinguish it from commercial da'wah, a non-competitive and inclusive approach, spirituality-based cadre development, and flexibility in da'wah methods. Its weaknesses include the absence of objective measures to assess sincerity, high dependence on individual motivation, and a weak organizational management system, all of which lead to program inconsistency. The slogan "Ikhlas Ruhnya Dakwah" (Sincerity in Preaching) serves as the philosophical foundation guiding all of the KPK's preaching activities, ensuring they remain focused on the ultimate goal of pleasing Allah, without getting caught up in materialism or popularity. This study is expected to contribute to contemporary preaching strategies and serve as a reference for other preaching communities in developing strategies that are relevant, creative, and rooted in the value of sincerity.

Abstract

The management of alumni data and low alumni participation constitute significant obstacles to curriculum evaluation and the fulfillment of IAPS 4.0 accreditation criteria. The proposed solution is the implementation of a Web-Based E-Tracer Study Application designed using the Model–View–Controller (MVC) architecture and supported by a database to integrate and manage data in a centralized manner. The database plays a crucial role as it enables data processing using Data Mining techniques (such as the Apriori algorithm or hash-based methods) to discover strategic association patterns between graduate competencies and job performance. The implementation of this system is able to significantly increase alumni participation rates (reaching over 90% compared to 20% using manual methods). However, sustainable success requires addressing non-technical challenges, such as low emotional attachment among alumni, through integrated solutions including automated reminder features and enhanced data security (multi-level authentication and encryption). Overall, database integration has proven effective in transforming graduate data into objective and strategic feedback to improve educational quality and alumni competitiveness.

Abstract

Gender Mainstreaming is a development strategy aimed at realizing gender equality and justice through the integration of gender perspectives in policies, programs, and activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of Gender Mainstreaming in Kotabaru Regency, identify obstacles, and provide strategic recommendations. Previous research indicates that Gender Mainstreaming at the regional level is generally hampered by minimal institutional capacity, weak cross-sectoral coordination, and budget constraints. However, previous research tends to only highlight macro indicators without examining the sustainability of implementation. These weaknesses are the reason for this study, using gender mainstreaming and good governance theories as an analytical framework. Data collection methods include reference studies of policy documents and interviews with relevant stakeholders. The results show that despite the existence of a Regional Regulation on Gender Mainstreaming in Kotabaru Regency, the implementation of Gender Mainstreaming activities has not been consistent and significant, even halting in the 2023–2024 period. This condition indicates a gap between normative commitment and actual implementation, so that institutional strengthening, coordination across SKPD with vertical agencies and the community, and budget support are needed to ensure program sustainability.

Abstract

This study develops an aquaponics system using tarpaulin ponds and recycled plastic waste as planting media. Conducted in Gampong Ruyung, Mesjid Raya Subdistrict, Aceh Besar, the project involved community participation through socialisation and demonstration. The pond was constructed with durable tarpaulin and bamboo frames, while plastic bottles served as planting containers. A water circulation system with PVC pipes and aerators maintained water quality, enabling optimal growth of fish and vegetables. Results show that this aquaponics model is land- and water-efficient, environmentally friendly, and supports local knowledge and economic opportunities.

Abstract

The historical bifurcation of dental and medical care pathways imposes a severe epidemiological burden, particularly within transitional health systems confronting a high prevalence of both non-communicable diseases and chronic periodontitis. Bridging this gap requires robust policy frameworks that extend beyond clinical interventions to involve cross-sectoral collaboration. To evaluate the structural efficacy, clinical outcomes, and policy implications of integrating oral-systemic healthcare using a Pentahelix collaborative model between primary healthcare centers and academic dentistry institutions in South Sumatra, Indonesia. A mixed-methods implementation study was conducted over eighteen months across twelve primary care centers in South Sumatra. The intervention utilized the Pentahelix model, integrating government authorities, academic dentistry faculties, health technology industries, community leaders, and local media. Quantitative data included inter-departmental referral completion rates, changes in patient glycemic control (HbA1c), and systemic inflammatory markers (C-Reactive Protein). Qualitative data assessed stakeholder engagement and interprofessional competencies. Implementation of the Pentahelix framework significantly improved medical-dental cross-referral completion rates from a baseline of twelve percent to seventy-six percent. Clinically, patients with comorbid type 2 diabetes and severe periodontitis receiving integrated care demonstrated a mean HbA1c reduction of 0.9% and a significant decrease in serum C-Reactive Protein levels following combined medical and non-surgical periodontal therapy. Furthermore, interprofessional competency scores among participating academic students and primary care staff increased significantly. In conclusion, the Pentahelix model provides a viable, highly effective policy framework for dismantling clinical silos in transitional health systems. By anchoring interprofessional clinical practice within a multi-stakeholder governance structure, health systems can achieve measurable improvements in both population health metrics and health workforce readiness.

Abstract

Background: The complete structural restoration of alveolar bone defects remains a critical challenge in reconstructive periodontology. Conventional grafting methods often fail to replicate the complex microarchitecture of periodontal tissues. This study integrated three-dimensional bioprinting technology with Autologous Activated Growth Factor to construct personalized scaffolds for treating severe infrabony periodontal defects. Methods: A randomized controlled clinical study was conducted at a private hospital in Palembang, South Sumatera, involving patients with Stage III periodontitis exhibiting vertical alveolar bone defects. Cone-beam computed tomography data guided the precise three-dimensional bioprinting of polycaprolactone and beta-tricalcium phosphate scaffolds. These constructs were functionalized operatively with Autologous Activated Growth Factor prepared from peripheral blood. The control group received conventional deproteinized bovine bone mineral with a collagen membrane. Clinical attachment level, probing depth, and radiographic bone fill were evaluated over six months. Results: The three-dimensional bioprinted scaffolds functionalized with Autologous Activated Growth Factor demonstrated superior clinical outcomes. At six months, the experimental group showed a mean probing depth reduction of 4.82 mm and a clinical attachment level gain of 4.15 mm. Radiographic analysis revealed a mean bone fill of 82.4% in the experimental group compared to 64.1% in the control. Inflammatory biomarkers were significantly modulated, indicating a highly favorable regenerative microenvironment. Conclusion: The synergistic integration of personalized three-dimensional bioprinted scaffolds with the potent osteoinductive and angiogenic properties of Autologous Activated Growth Factor significantly enhanced alveolar bone defect healing, providing a highly predictable alternative for complex periodontal regeneration.
