Abstract

Education which constitutes a conscious effort and is mandated by a constitution not only aims at developing intellectual but also spiritual aspects of individual students. Educational processes thus need to be built upon the work ethic so as to maximize teacher’s performance and to foster students’ learning outcomes. With this mind, the current study was conducted to examine whether the work ethic affected teacher’s performance and students’ achievement. This study employed a quantitative methodology and was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jember. The data were collected using a questionnaire, and were analyzed through a path analysis using Lisrel. The results revealed that the work ethic affected performance with a T value of 2.26 ≥ 1.196, the performance affected students’ achievement with a T value of 2.16 ≥ 1.196, but the work ethic did not affect students’ achievement as indicated by the T value. smaller than 1.96 of 0.56.

Abstract

This literature review aims at exploring both manhaj tarjih and tajdid in Muhammadiyah tradition as a basis for developing reasonings. Islamic study within Muhammadiyah tradition is not only intended for use in studying religious beliefs, but also as a process for understanding Islam more comprehensively, so that it can optimize the value of Islam as ‘rahmatan lil alamin’ not only at the conceptual level but also, more importantly, at the practical level in line with the philosophy of baldatun toyyibatun wa rabbun ghofur. The basis for developing thoughts in Muhammadiyah is predicated upon 16 main points, the rules of  tarjih based on ijma', qiyas, maslahah mursalah and al-urf, while the tarjih method covers bayani, burhani and istislahi such as pertaining to reasoning for using bayani, burhani and irfani.

Abstract

This paper aims to put forward the implementation of sufism (tasawuf) in the learning of Islamic education which is analyzed by the approach of independence, dialogue, and integration. This discussion finds that Islamic education in the era of globalization is momentum in developing and building competitive Islamic education. Islamic education must be able to face all forms of globalization challenges with their various impacts. The presence of Sufism is the antidote to the problem of the Islamic education being faced. The formation of our human beings from the process of Islamic education made Sufism a method and learning strategy.

Abstract

Islamic schools have participated in Indonesian educational market and they have shown significant developments both in their achievement and their images. Their competitiveness is reflected in the level of their electability which can be investigated from the survey. This study was aimed at investigating the principal component that influenced the electability of Islamic schools with the formulation of any variable problems that contributed significantly to the electability of Islamic schools. This research applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA) with a questionnaire instrument using nine variables with 72 measuring statements. There were 204 respondents took a part from MTsN (Madrasah Tsanawiyyah Negeri/State Islamic Junior High School) 5 Jember and SMPIT (Sekolah Menengah Pertama Islam Terpadu/Integrated Islamic Junior High School) Al-Ghazali Jember. The results of this study showed the principal component in each Islamic school amounted to one with an eigen value of 6.3081 and 6.1140. Based on the result of this study, some variables contributed significantly to the school electability and this was done by continuing the analysis until the proportion value was greater than 80 percent. The variables of principal, teachers and learning atmosphere influenced school electability at MTs Negeri 5 Jember and variables of school principals, teachers and infrastructure influenced significantly school electability at SMPIT Al-Ghazali.

Abstract

The Pesantren are Islamic educational institutions that were born before Indonesian independence. Despite having a long history, skepticism always accompanies the output of pesantren in connection with its recognition. The independence and existence of Islamic boarding schools throughout their history has not yet become a consideration in terms of legality. The issuance of PMA policy number 18 of 2014 concerning the Mu'addalah education unit at Islamic Boarding School gives new hope to the recognition of graduates of pesantren. Changes that are a requirement for the legality of Pesantren Muddalah, provide its own problems and do not rule out reducing the indigenousity of the pesantren itself. This paper aims to analyze the Pesantren Mu'addalah policy based on literature review. The results of the study of this policy, first, the Muaddalah pesantren is a form of recognition (equalization / equality) for pesantren institutions, second, the policy requires curriculum changes to include general subjects, and third, the implementation of the policy must be understood in full so that recognition does not threaten indigenousity pesantren itself.Keyword : Policy, Muaddalah, pesantren.

Abstract

Tawhid value is the most essential thing in internalizing the values of Islamic education in aspects of life. Tawhid is a fundamental thing to determine determination and confidence in the implementation of the values of Islamic teachings. The value of monotheism is not only used as "subject matter" but rather as a system pengutan and concepts that underlie the entire Islamic education system. In other words tauhid will be the basis for the overall activity of the Islamic education process.

Abstract

Belajar untuk mempercayai dan meyakini Tuhan yang Maha Esa (learning to believe and convince almighty of god), menjadi paradigma baru terkait dengan pilar pendidikan dalam konteks ke-Indonesiaan. Corak pilar ini selaras dengan dasar filosofi yaitu ketuhanan yang maha Esa, sila pertama Pancasila sebagai ideologi bangsa Indonesia. Perwujudan pilar tersebut dapat didorong dari bidang pendidikan, khususnya pendidikan anak usia dini pada jenjang umur 5-6 tahun. Salah satu kesadaran beragama yang dapat disenergikan dengan konsep pilar yaitu kesadaran beragama secara verbal dan ritual. Kesadaran beragama secara verbal dapat hubungkan dengan hafalan do’a-doa, surat-surat pendek dan kemampuan dalam membaca al-qur’an. Adapun untuk kesadaran ritual disandarkan pada praktek ibadah sholat dan puasa. Penelitian dengan tujuan mengetahui tingkat kesadaran beragama baik secara verbal dan ritual, menggunakan 11 sekolah jenajang TK/PAUD sebagai tempat penelitian. Kuantiatif dengan corak analisis data kuantitatif deskriptif menjadi basis metode penelitian yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian menguraikan bahwa perkembangan kesadaran beragama baik secara verbal dan ritual pada tingkatan baik, dengan pembiasaan sebagai metode pembelajaran pilihan yang digunakan guru maupun orang tua

Abstract

This study examines the learning outcomes of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyah in students, which can be related to the image of prophetic intelligence as an indicator. The paradigm of prophetic intelligence is closely related to the dimensions of intelligence. It can be understood as a continuation of the meaning of intelligence initially based on intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and collaboration into ESQ to prophetic intelligence. This perspective is closely related to the ideal desire that the purpose of education is not only intellectually intelligent but also emotional and spiritual and is currently popular with the term prophetic intelligence as an identity attached to the output produced. The balance of human/social dimensions with divine/religious dimensions is an inherent characteristic of the terminology of prophetic intelligence. This study aims to link the learning outcomes of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah as an image of prophetic intelligence to students as ordinary people. The basis of the research method used refers to a qualitative approach with research instruments in the form of a questionnaire with structured answer options. The study found that Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan learning can develop and improve on the human/social dimension, which includes tolerance, critical and creative attitudes, maturity in attitude, and communicativeness as an indicator of the image of prophetic intelligence that can be relied on several events in the life of the Prophet Muhammad such as Hudaibiyah agreement, laying of the Black Stone, and leadership in the state of Medina. As for the divine/religious dimension, the learning outcomes of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah, such as faith, understanding of the Qur'an, and the totality of implementation of the halal-haram aspects, although they have improvements and results, cannot be pinned on the dimensions of prophetic intelligence, due to differences in the position of students as ordinary people.

Abstract

Reformulation of Al-Qur'an Interpretation Method Through Tajdidi MethodTafsir at-Tanwir is the official institutional interpretation of Muhammadiyah Organization on the Qur’an. This research aims at exploring the reformation brought by at-Tanwir which include the new methods in interpreting of The Quran. What is the latest method offered by at-Tanwir. This research is categorized as a library research, focusing on written sources, such as books, journals and magazines published by the Council. Qualitative analysis and deductive method have been emlpoyed to analyze the data.This research discusses the latest method of interpretation presented by Tafsir at-Tanwir. At-Tanwir presents a new method in the interpretation of the Qoran called tajdidi method. The tajdidi method is a method of interpreting the Qoran which is written in tahlili or sequentially from al-Fatihah to an-Nas, but the discussion is grouped into separate themes (maudhui') in several equivalent verses (munasabah). At-Tanwir succeeded in combining the tahlili and thematic (maudhu'i) methods in an interpretation called the tajdidi method, or the renewal method, which is a combined method of tahlil and thematic (maudhu'i), namely the interpretation of the Qur'an by tahlili but divided into several related themes
