Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and find out the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students by using a scientific approach to the material of straight-line equations. This research consists of two cycles based on the Kemmis & Taggart model. which consists of: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject of this study was 30 students of VIII grade from SMP IT Budi Luhur Cimahi of 2021/2022 academic year. The test instrument used in accordance with the indicators of mathematical communication ability is in the form of a description of as many as 5 numbers. Normalized gain data was generated in this study, resulting in a score of 0.36. Data processing in the study was obtained from normalized gain data, with a score of 0.36. This shows that students' mathematical communication skills have improved, with a moderate category. The non-test instruments used included a questionnaire on the scale of learning interest attitudes as many as 16 balanced statements with positive and negative responses. The results of the response to students' interest in learning mathematics have a positive effect on students' mathematical communication, namely 76.6 with a positive category.

Abstract

With the help of teaching aids, this study intends to show how mathematics learning outcomes among students have improved. The sub-material used in this study is about slices and combinations. The venn diagram board is the teaching aid used in this research. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Purwakarta Regency by involving 20 students of class VII as research subjects. The data collection technique used in this research is using a written test (daily test) in the form of a description of 8 items. Processing of data from the results of the written test in this study is using the percentage formula. Based on the data analysis of students' mathematics learning outcomes, namely a) In the first cycle there were 6 students (30%) who completed and 14 students (70%) did not complete, b) In the second cycle there were 12 students (60%) who completed and 8 students (40%) which are not completed. So based on the results of the analysis obtained from this study, it can be seen that learning by using teaching aids media can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Siswa harus memiliki kemampuan memahami matematika karena belajar matematika tidak hanya tentang menghafal rumus dan berhitung, tetapi juga tentang memahami konsep. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemahaman matematis siswa pasca pandemi Covid-19 dengan persamaan kuadrat. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan populasi 30 siswa dan sampel 10 siswa kelas IX yang dilakukan di SMPN 8 Cimahi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pemahaman matematika. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil tes diolah dalam tiga tahap, yaitu reduksi data pertama (analisis jawaban siswa), presentasi kedua, dan ketiga penarikan kesimpulan peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 10% siswa yang memiliki kemampuan matematika termasuk dalam kategori sangat tinggi dan sangat rendah, 20% termasuk dalam kategori tinggi dan rendah, dan 40% siswa termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa masih perlu dikembangkan karena siswa masih belum memahami materi dan belum terbiasa mengerjakan soal pemahaman matematika sehingga tetap melakukan kesalahan saat menyelesaikan soal.

Abstract

Students must have the ability to understand mathematics because learning mathematics is not only about memorizing formulas and counting, but also about understanding concepts. The purpose of this study is to determine the mathematical understanding of students after the Covid-19 pandemic with quadratic equations. This type of research is qualitative with a population of 30 students and a sample of 10 class IX students conducted at SMPN 8 Cimahi. The instrument used is a mathematical comprehension test. The data obtained from the test results are processed in three stages, namely first data reduction (analysis of student answers), second presentation, and thirdly drawing researchers' conclusions. The results showed that 10% of students who have mathematical ability belong to the very high and very low categories, 20% belong to the high and low categories, and 40% of students belong to the medium category. This research shows that students' mathematical comprehension skills still need to be developed because students still do not understand the material and are not used to doing mathematical comprehension questions so they still make mistakes when solving problems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self efficacy mahasiswa calon guru melalui pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL). Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretset-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan matematika STKIP Siliwangi Bandung yang mengikuti mata kuliah kapita selekta matematika. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan matematika STKIP Siliwangi Bandung yang mengikuti mata kuliah aljabar umum  menengah pada semester ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016 yang terdiri dari 3 kelas, yaitu: A1 A2 dan A3. Sampel penelitian dipilih 2 kelas dari populasi penelitian, terpilih kelas A1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang terdiri dari 35 orang mahasiswa dan kelas A3 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang terdiri dari 34 orang mahasiswa. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling karena semua kelas memiliki karakteristik dan kemampuan akademik yang setara. Analisis data dilakukan terhadap gain hasil tes kemampuan mahasiswa mata kuliah aljabar umum. Untuk memperoleh data penelitian digunakan instrumen berupa tes, non tes dan skala self efficacy. Analisis penelitian menggunakan uji perbedaan rata-rata. Hasil penelitian didapat kesimpulan: (i) Pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang mendapat pembelajaran PBL lebih baik daripada mahasiswa yang mendapat pembelajaran ekspositori (ii) self efficacy matematik mahasiswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan PBL lebih baik daripada siswa dengan pembelajaran yang menggunakan pendekatan ekspositori. Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran PBL, Self Efficacy, Pemecahan Masalah

Abstract

Abstrak. Adversity quotient dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis menjadi salah satu faktor dalam pencapaian tercapainya tujuan pendidikan matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan  adversity quotient dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita mengenai keliling dan luas bangun datar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 35 siswa di kelas VIII-B di salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Bandung Barat.  Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa SMP pada materi keliling dan luas persegi panjang  dengan pembelajaran open ended  mencapai ketuntasan belajar; (2) Siswa AQ quitters dalam memecahkan masalah mampu memahami masalah dengan menuliskan apa yang diketahui dan apa yang ditanyakan dan menjelaskan masalah dengan kalimat sendiri; (3) Siswa AQ campers dalam memecahkan masalah mampu melaksanakan tiga tahapan Polya yaitu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan, dan melaksanakan rencana; Siswa AQ climbers dalam memecahkan masalah mampu melaksanakan keempat tahap Polya yaitu mampu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan  masalah, menyelesaikan masalah melalui strategi pemecahan masalah, serta memeriksa kembali hasil dan proses dan  menyimpulkan hasil penyelesaian. Kata Kunci: Adversity quotient, Open Ended, Pemecahan Masalah Matematis. Abstract. Adversity quotient and mathematical problem solving ability become one of the factors in achieving the goal of mathematics education. This study aims to describe the ability to solve mathematical problems and adversity quotient in solving the story about the circumference and the area of flat wake. The research method used is qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research is 35 students in class VIII-B in one of junior high school in West Bandung regency. The result of the research shows that (1) the ability of problem solving of mathematics of junior high school students on material around and rectangular area with open ended learning achieve learning mastery; (2) AQ quitters students in solving problems are able to understand the problem by writing down what is known and what is being asked and explaining the problem with their own sentences; (3) AQ campers students in solving problems are able to carry out three stages of Polya namely understanding the problem, planning the solution, and implementing the plan; AQ climbers students in solving problems are able to implement the four stages of Polya that is able to understand the problem, plan problem solving, solve problems through problem solving strategies, and re-examine the results and processes and conclude the outcome. Keywords. Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the application of the e-LKPD assisted discovery learning model in an effort to improve students' mathematical communication abilities and to find out differences in students' mathematical communication abilities before and after being given treatment with the e-LKPD assisted discovery learning model for class X MA Miftahul 'Ulum on SPLTV material. The sample in this study was students of class X IPA MA Miftahul 'Ulum with a total of 10 students. The method used in this research is experimental research with the instrument used is a test of mathematical communication ability. Data analysis was carried out using the Pre-Experimental Design method in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The results showed that there was an influence of the e-LKPD-assisted discovery learning model on students' mathematical communication abilities, seen in the results of data analysis with Ltest <Ltable 5%, which means that there were differences in students' mathematical communication abilities before and after treatment of e-assisted discovery learning models. Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop multimodal mathematics and Indonesian language books for learning in elementary schools, (2) determine the feasibility level of multimodal mathematics and Indonesian books for learning in elementary schools. This study used the Borg and Gall development model research method which consisted of (1) preliminary study, (2) initial product development, (3) expert validation and product revision, (4) limited field trials and product revision, (5) test try the field and the final product. The resulting product is an Android-based learning media in the form of multimodal books for learning mathematics and Indonesian in elementary schools with the subject, integer arithmetic operations, mixed integer arithmetic operations, determining mixed arithmetic operations with whole numbers, looking for main ideas and writing poetry in elementary schools. Based on the formulation of the problem, research results, and discussion, the results of this study can be concluded that (1) the development of Multimodal Book considered several product characteristics, namely, (a) students play an active role, (b) precise and consistent language, (c) music selection, background, buttons, types, colors, attractive letters, (d) animations and images support elementary school students' understanding, (2) multimodal Mathematics and Indonesian Language Books for Elementary School Learning are appropriate to use and can improve the learning of Mathematics and Indonesian Language for Elementary School students in West Bandung Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the difficulties faced by students in the ability to solve mathematical problems of Straight Line Equation material. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, and data collection is carried out as instrumental questions with 4 questions. The subjects of the study were class VIII students numbering 10 people. The results of the researcher's analysis showed that students’ mathematical problem solving abilities in straight line equation material were still low. Students difficulties in reading problems in this straight line equation material, students having difficulty reading graphs on the questions presented, students' lack of understanding of constructing known and asked data used to solve problems, difficulties in determining formulas that are appropriate to the questions presented, lack of accuracy and ignorance of the prerequisite material related to the problem, and answering questions at random, so that students cannot solve them correctly. This difficulty is caused by students' lack of accuracy when reading questions in the form of descriptions, not paying attention to the teacher when explaining and not understanding graphical questions and the way students think about mathematical problems is difficult.
