Abstract

This article examines the method of advice (Mauizhah) in child education as contained in QS Luqman verse 13. Luqman al-Hakim’s advice to his son, which begins with the prohibition of shirk (associating partners with Allah), serves as a foundational model of Islamic parenting rooted in tawhid. Using a qualitative approach with library research design, this study analyzes Quranic interpretations and relevant academic literature published from 2020 to 2024. The findings reveal that the method of advice in QS Luqman verse 13 is characterized by three key elements: it is delivered with love and compassion using the expression “ya bunayya” (O my dear son), it prioritizes the foundation of monotheism as the primary substance of education, and it employs a gentle yet firm approach suited to a child’s developmental stage. This study affirms that the advisory method of Luqman remains highly relevant as a model for contemporary Islamic education, especially in forming children’s aqidah and moral character within the family environment.

Abstract

Modern moral degradation demands a resilient ethical guide for the younger generation, particularly in establishing boundaries for cross-gender interactions to prevent deviations from religious guidelines. This study aims to thoroughly examine the framework of adolescent social etiquette derived from the moral education values implicit in Surah An-Nur, verses 30–31. Employing a qualitative library research method combined with a textual analysis (tafsir tahlili) approach, this paper evaluates the textual meanings of these verses while contextualizing them within the current realities of youth behavior. The findings indicate that both verses lay down structural pillars for social relationships, which fundamentally center on the mandate to restrain the gaze (ghaddul bashar) and safeguard personal honor. Cultivating these values within the lives of the younger generation serves as an upstream preventive instrument to counter promiscuity and moral decay. Ultimately, this concept of etiquette does not merely restrict outward physical conduct; it shapes internal spiritual consciousness to foster a social interaction ecosystem that is healthy, honorable, and compliant with Islamic principles.

Abstract

Globalization has significantly influenced various aspects of human life, including educational practices and perspectives on religious values. One of the prominent developments within this context is the spread of liberalism, a worldview that emphasizes individual freedom and rational thinking. Its growing influence has created both opportunities and challenges for Islamic education. On the one hand, liberal ideas encourage critical thinking and openness to scientific advancement. On the other hand, they may contribute to perspectives and practices that are not always in harmony with the fundamental teachings of Islam. This study examines the influence of liberalism on Islamic education in the era of globalization and explores the challenges as well as the responses developed by Islamic educational institutions. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, drawing on scholarly articles indexed in SINTA and Scopus published within the last five years. The findings indicate that liberalism affects students' perspectives through the expansion of unrestricted freedom of thought, moral relativism, secular tendencies in education, and the growing influence of global digital culture. These developments have implications for the weakening of religious values, the emergence of moral challenges, and a shift toward more pragmatic educational orientations. In response, Islamic education needs to strengthen faith-based and character education, integrate scientific knowledge with the values of tawhid, and promote Islamic digital literacy. The study highlights the importance of maintaining the core principles of Islamic education while adapting to the demands and realities of a rapidly changing global environment.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic education in addressing the empathy crisis among adolescents in the social media era. The rapid development of digital technology and the widespread use of social media have significantly changed the patterns of social interaction among adolescents, leading to decreased face-to-face communication, increased individualism, cyberbullying, and reduced social sensitivity. Using a qualitative literature review method, this research analyzes scientific journals, books, and prior studies on Islamic education, character education, and adolescent social behavior. Findings indicate that Islamic education plays a strategic role in fostering empathy through moral education, character development, spiritual guidance, role modeling, and social responsibility programs. Core Islamic values such as rahmah (compassion), ukhuwah (brotherhood), ta’awun (mutual assistance), and ihsan (excellence in conduct) serve as a strong foundation for developing prosocial behavior and emotional intelligence among adolescents. Integrating these values across family, school, and community contexts is essential for effectively addressing empathy decline and nurturing morally responsible adolescents in the digital era.

Abstract

Mental health issues have become a critical challenge for adolescents in the digital era. Academic pressure, massive social media exposure, and social comparison behavior frequently trigger anxiety, insecurity, and depression among the younger generation. This study aims to formulate a framework for adolescent mental health education by integrating the concepts of patience (sabar) and gratitude (syukur) contained in Q.S. Ibrahim Verse 7. The research methodology employed is library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Primary data sources were obtained from standard exegesis (tafsir) books, while secondary data were sourced from psychological literature and related mental health journals. The results indicate that the command of gratitude in Q.S. Ibrahim verse 7 psychologically functions as a mechanism of positive appraisal and internal validation that effectively counteracts digital social comparison. Meanwhile, patience is implemented as an active coping mechanism to build psychological resilience when facing life stressors. The integration of these two Qur'anic values establishes a spiritual-based mental health education framework (Islamic Mindfulness) applicable to modern adolescents.
