Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate teaching materials for the Contemporary Qur'anic Teaching Methods course, using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The material was designed to address the lack of a primary reference resource for the course, aligning with the curriculum and competencies required for effective learning. Subject matter and media experts validated the content, confirming its academic rigor and visual appeal. The teaching material was trialed with students in both small-scale and large-scale settings, with positive feedback indicating high engagement and effectiveness in supporting student learning. The study found that the material successfully integrated contemporary pedagogical approaches with traditional Qur'anic teaching, enhancing both academic understanding and student engagement. Despite its success, the study highlighted areas for improvement, such as the incorporation of more multimedia elements and a larger, more diverse sample for future trials. The findings suggest that modernizing Qur'anic education through innovative teaching materials can significantly improve learning outcomes, offering a model for the development of similar resources in Islamic studies. This research contributes to the growing body of work aimed at integrating contemporary teaching methods into religious education and offers valuable insights for educators seeking to enhance their instructional practices in Qur'anic studies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction (ARCS) learning model assisted by the Prezi application on students’ reflective thinking ability in terms of gender. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two classes at the senior high school level. One class received instruction using the ARCS learning model assisted by Prezi, while the other class was taught using the Discovery Learning model. Data on students’ reflective thinking ability were collected through an essay test that met the criteria of validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA. The results indicated that students who participated in learning through the ARCS model assisted by Prezi demonstrated better reflective thinking ability than those who learned through Discovery Learning. In addition, there were differences in students’ reflective thinking ability based on gender, as well as an interaction between the learning model and gender on students’ reflective thinking ability. These findings indicate that the effectiveness of learning is influenced by both the learning model and students’ characteristics. Therefore, the ARCS learning model assisted by Prezi contributes positively to improving students’ reflective thinking ability and can be considered an alternative approach in mathematics learning to foster higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

Several literature reviews related to Single Subject Research (SSR) have been reported, but none have re-ported a systematic literature review of SSR in mathematics learning in Indonesia. Therefore, this Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study will report the results of SSR reviews in mathematics learning in Indonesia. There are five research questions to be answered regarding trends, designs, subject characteristics, learning materials, and types of intervention and target changes from SSR. Following the PRISMA flow, 561 articles were identified from three databases (Dimensions, ERIC, and SINTA), then through the screening stage, and finally 53 articles were included for review. The results of the review, in the form of data extraction from each article, were mapped and analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The results of the study found that (1) the trend of SSR publications has increased significantly, peaking in 2023, despite fluctuations in some years, (2) the ABA reversal is the most dominant SSR design used, (3) the most dominant characteristics of subjects involved in this SSR are sensory disabilities and special-needs schools, (4) the materials most commonly used in SSR are numbers and operations, and (5) interventions in SSR mostly use learning media or technology, and most target changes in specific mathematical skills. These results recommend expanding the application of SSR to various topics and levels with more complex designs and technology-based interventions in real contexts, in order to support inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable mathematics learning.
