Abstract

Taxes play an important role as the government's principal revenue to support national development. Tax contributions from taxpayers are essential in funding these programs. However, tax collection faces challenges such as low public awareness, limited access to the latest tax information, low compliance rates, and the tax system's complexity. The Directorate General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance has launched a Tax Center program on campuses, including at the State Polytechnic of Madiun. Despite being active, Tax Center PNM still uses a conventional approach. Improving service quality is a potential solution to digital transformation. Before implementing digital transformation, a preliminary study is an essential first step. This study discusses the views and perceptions of taxpayers regarding the implementation of digital transformation at Tax Center PNM. The study was conducted through three stages of interviews with ten resource persons: private employees, entrepreneurial students, and government employees. Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the process, advantages, and disadvantages of implementing Graphic Organizers (GO) in teaching reading. This study is of a descriptive qualitative nature and was conducted in the English Teaching Department of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo. Class PBI 2021 was selected as the sample using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through observation and interview methods. Data analysis involved the steps of data classification, interpretation, and conclusion. The results of this research indicate that the application of GO consists of three steps: pre-reading, while reading, and post-reading. The advantages include making reading instruction more effective, fostering cooperative learning environments, enhancing students' confidence and motivation in reading classes, and promoting an active and engaging classroom atmosphere. However, some disadvantages were noted, such as the strategy's limited applicability to certain texts and the potential for increased noise levels in the classroom. It is recommended for lecturers to incorporate this strategy into their reading instruction.

Abstract

Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Terpadu (MIT) Bakti Ibu is one of the highly sought-after elementary schools in the city of Madiun and its surrounding areas. The busiest time occurs during the pick-up after school hours, as it involves interactions between the pick-up persons and many students. The school has provided staff to call out each student who has been picked up by their respective guardians. However, this process is deemed inefficient as it heavily relies on the performance of the staff at that moment, which may not always be optimal. The objective of this activity is to enhance efficiency in calling the students. It involves implementing an independent student-calling Artificial Intelligence (AI) device based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology, utilizing Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology embedded in a Mini PC platform running a Linux operating system with a touch screen connected to a server via the internet. The activity takes place at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Terpadu (MIT) Bakti Ibu in Banjarejo Sub-district, Taman District, Madiun City, East Java. The activity methodology includes preparation, demonstration, evaluation, and mentoring stages. The outcome of this activity is that the TTS technology enables computers to convert text into speech that can be heard by humans. This technology is utilized to aid or even replace the role of staff in calling students who have been picked up by their guardians at the school, based on student name data stored in the database server.

Abstract

Pendidikan adalah upaya sadar untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar kepada peserta didik dengan tujuan mempersiapkan peserta didik untuk masa depan, memiliki peran strategis dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dan mewujudkan falsafah ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi pemikiran bangsa Indonesia. Pandemi Covid-19 merupakan krisis kesehatan yang melanda sebagian besar wilayah di dunia. Pandemi ini berdampak pada berbagai sektor, salah satunya adalah pendidikan. Kegiatan pembelajaran yang biasanya dilakukan secara tatap muka digantikan oleh pembelajaran jarak jauh secara daring. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan observasi terkait pembelajaran daring yang telah berjalan. Dari hasil observasi ditemukan permasalahan yaitu kompetensi guru dan referensi media pembelajaran untuk digunakan saat pembelajaran daring. Sehingga untuk dilakukan eksperimen untuk kedua permasalahan tersebut. Topik eksperimen yang dipilih adalah flipbook. Dari hasil evaluasi eksperimen tersebut bisa disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran flipbook relevan untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

Salaf-based boarding schools still adhere to a traditional system in which they only teach religious sciences, and have not implemented skills-based education. Skills-based education is one of the important agendas in Islamic boarding schools, not only organizationally important but also students are equipped with life skills. In fact, not all boarding schools have explored skills education outside of religious education. The purpose of this PkM program is to provide workshops to improve competence to boarding school students in the form of skills. The methods used in this PkM program are interviews, observations, and the process of implementing the PkM program. The results of the PkM activities are in the form of the implementation of workshop activities starting from registration and attendance, opening, continuing with the introduction of IT and its implementation, IT life skills and computer network competencies, computer network installation, and closing. By providing workshop solutions to boarding school students in the form of skills, they will gain knowledge, skills, and expertise in the field of computer networks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas pengajaran membaca dalam kurikulum bahasa Inggris di Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo dengan menggunakan dua metode pengajaran yang berbeda: interaksi kelompok kecil dan metode konvensional. Pendekatan penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dengan fokus pada perbandingan kemampuan pemahaman membaca antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Studi ini menyelidiki apakah siswa yang diajarkan melalui interaksi kelompok kecil menunjukkan kemampuan membaca yang lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan mereka yang diajarkan menggunakan metode konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, mengungkapkan perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan pemahaman membaca secara keseluruhan. Nilai uji-t yang dihitung untuk pemahaman membaca umum adalah 7,85, melebihi nilai kritis p<.05 dengan uji satu sisi sebesar 1.671 (d.f.= 60). Berdasarkan analisis ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa di kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan keahlian yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan mereka di kelompok kontrol, menunjukkan bahwa teknik interaksi kelompok kecil lebih efektif daripada metode konvensional di Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Setiap dosen memiliki tugas untuk memenuhi Tridharma perguruan tinggi yang meliputi pengajaran, penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Hal ini dilengkapi dengan kegiatan pendukung, seperti keikutsertaan narasumber dalam berbagai kegiatan akademik dan non akademik, baik sebagai peserta maupun sebagai panitia. Permasalahan dalam hal ini adalah belum adanya sistem. Penilaian kinerja dosen dalam mengimplementasikan Tridharma perguruan tinggi. Sehingga mempengaruhi kualitas pelaksanaan Tridharma perguruan tinggi. Implementasi sistem evaluasi fakultas diharapkan dapat membantu perguruan tinggi untuk menilai dan mengevaluasi kinerja fakultas dengan mendefinisikan setiap kriteria. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode SAW karena metode SAW menentukan bobot dari setiap kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Kemudian dilanjutkan proses normalisasi dengan persamaan yang ada pada metode tersebut. Kemudian dilanjutkan proses pemeringkatan untuk memilih opsi terbaik, dalam hal ini adalah pembicara dengan kinerja terbaik dari hasil evaluasi masing-masing kriteria. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah sistem yang mampu mengetahui hasil performans pembicara, serta mengetahui idol berpenampilan terbaik berdasarkan hasil perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan SAW.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between explicit grammar knowledge and English proficiency levels among students. The study involved nine Indonesian teaching students who were divided into three groups, namely seven new teachers who were teaching English for the first time in elementary schools and two teachers who regularly taught English for communication. Data were collected through interviews and grammar assignments to assess their explicit grammar knowledge as well as their level of language proficiency. The results of the study showed that there was a tendency to associate explicit grammar knowledge and English proficiency. However, explicit grammatical knowledge is not the main determinant of proficiency level. In contrast, proficiency is more influenced by a combination of factors, such as individual preferences and study habits. Students who engage in implicit learning activities, such as regular communication and exposure to language in context, show higher levels of fluency than students who rely on explicit grammar instruction. Nonetheless, explicit grammatical knowledge remains important, especially in academic contexts that demand accurate and formal use of language. An approach that consciously integrates explicit grammar instruction is recommended to support skill development, especially in academic writing. In this way, implicit learning can improve fluency, while explicit learning favors accuracy and formal structure. In conclusion, combining explicit and implicit grammar knowledge into a balanced approach can improve overall fluency and accuracy. Teachers are advised to incorporate explicit grammar instruction into a context-based curriculum that supports immersive learning to optimize student language development.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the understanding of students at RA Pondok Sholawat, Caruban, Madiun, East Java, about the Solar System through interactive learning media. Based on the initial observations, it was found that traditional learning methods cannot attract interest and improve students' understanding optimally. To overcome this problem, an intervention was carried out in the form of a grant for a set of touchscreen laptops and training teachers on using interactive learning media. The results showed an increase in the enthusiasm and involvement of students in the learning process and an increase in teacher competence in utilizing technology as a learning tool. This program created a more pleasant and effective learning atmosphere and positively impacted the quality of learning at RA Pondok Sholawat. Interactive learning media is expected to be an innovative model that can be applied in other educational institutions to improve students' understanding of scientific concepts from an early age.
