Abstract

The Indonesian Open University (UT) has had extensive experience in providing, implementing, and developing educational services in Indonesian and abroad. Several problems related to the planned development of Distance Education Services (PJJ-UT), have become obstacles that hinder the smooth expansion and management of UT abroad. This paper aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges in developing PJJ-UT in Malaysia. The approach used in this study is a qualitative method. The data are collected through participant observation as well as unstructured in-depth interviews involving resources ranging from UT managers, students, and alumni. The results: (1). Many fresh graduates from Senior High School, have departed for Malaysia before the time of receiving their graduation certificate. They are constrained from realizing their intention to continue their study while working; (2). Indonesian illegal migrants who have joined as students, have limited space for movement and are being arrested by Malaysian authorities; (3). Implementation of the mandatory overtime system at workplace, prevented students from participating in examinations; (4). The distance of the student coverage area, resulted in delays in taking academic activities; (5). The dropping out phenomenon among students who are not motivated to study is high, especially after returning to their homeland. Keywords: PMI In Malaysia, PJJ Program For PMI, Study While Working.

Abstract

Objective: This paper aims to explore how a relational collaboration process is formed among bag and suitcase craftsmen in an Industrial Village in Indonesia. Design/Methods/Approach: The study is a qualitative case study formulated from nine informants interviewed with different roles, from the initiators, actors, and community leaders to local government agencies. Information collected is analyzed using the Gioia method with the three stages of analysis: concepts, themes, and dimensions. Findings: Different from previous research, which stated that three perspectives of the interaction form of the dynamics of business competition, namely rivalry, competitive-cooperation, and relational, can only be manifested mutual-exclusively according to a certain cultural context, this study finds that those perspectives can be manifested as an evolutionary stage. which we label as "relational-collaboration. "Collaboration is an inseparable process following dynamic changes and adjusting the challenges and opportunities in each competitive interaction change. The changing evolution processes begin from rivalry competition to competitive cooperation and turn again into relational collaboration. Rivalry interaction through price wars has had a negative impact on all craftsmen and even on their social environment. The emergence of an awareness of the price-war impact made a small number of craftsmen initiate to work together through the formation of a cooperative to support their capital business. Although initially, only a few craftsmen became members, the commitment of the initiator members led other craftsmen to join in. This process continues to grow until the formation of relational collaboration among craftsmen in response to orders in large quantities within and outside the country. Originality: Limited study found to discuss how relational collaboration is formed, especially those focusing on the business cluster. This study expects to fill the gap by exploring the empirical aspect of forming relational collaboration among competitors.

Abstract

One of the problems that often occur in industrial companies is related to the inventory of raw materials. It is closely related to the production process, which can speed up or slow down. The researchers analyzed the existing business process model and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) model and the transformation of the two business process models. The processing of primary and secondary data was carried out with the MRP model approach and showed that the Lot for Lot method provides savings in ordering and purchasing raw materials. Besides, it provides savings in raw material inventory costs from January 2020-December 2021. The need for a Bill of Materials is also more controlled using the MRP system model.

Abstract

Customer involvement is necessary for the value co-creation process in online purchases. This study intends to confirm the effect of online shopping experience on customer value co-creation behaviour, represented by participation behaviour and customer citizenship behaviour on repurchase intention and negative electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM). An online survey was conducted to collect data from the customers as respondents. This study used Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypotheses. The results show that the data supports four of the seven hypotheses. The online shopping experience positively affects customer participation and citizenship behaviour and then influences repurchase intention, but it does not affect negative eWOM. The results of this study provide an understanding of the importance of a customer experience, customer participation, and customer citizenship behaviours to encourage value co-creation by the customer, which is expected to increase repurchase intention. Previous studies have not linked value co-creation behavior to actual behavioral characteristics. The originality of this study discovers negative eWOM and repurchase factors due to CPB and CCB.

Abstract

To maintain environmental sustainability can be managed and resolved by changing human behavior, especially by reducing plastic waste. This study investigated whether natural environmental orientation, environmental knowledge, environmental concern, and environmental attitude affect the extent to which millennials avoid or reduce the purchase of single-use plastic tableware, food with plastic packaging, and plastic water bottles called Willingness to Reduce Plastic Waste (WRPW). This study used quantitative using the purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques using online questionnaires were sent to respondents with criteria for educated millennial Muslims at Islamic universities in East Java, Central Java, and West Java. The survey was conducted for three months and obtained 369 respondents. The questionnaire is processed by using SEM analysis with Smart PLS. The results show that environmental knowledge provides a direct and an indirect effect on willingness to reduce plastic waste through environmental attitude. Meanwhile, environmental concern has no direct effect on willingness to reduce plastic waste, yet it has an indirect effect through environmental attitude. This research implies that concern for the environment is not necessarily accompanied by the willingness to reduce the use of plastic. However, adequate knowledge about the environment can increase the willingness to reduce the use of plastic among millennial generations who prioritize logical thinking and adapt to their knowledge.
