Abstract

The development of the Senandung Asahan tradition from magical rituals to performing arts involves understanding the causes of its evolution performing arts. This research result shows that this tradition still exists and has been evolving since 1980 among the Asahan people because it was always performed during magical events, such as when fishermen would go to sea by invoking the wind as a ritual to ensure a bountiful catch. Nowadays, the Senandung Asahan Tradition is rarely seen and has transformed into performing arts, and beliefs have waned. The factors influencing this transformation include sociological, philosophical, aesthetic, and identity-related factors. Sociologically, this tradition is now used for local community entertainment. Philosophically, the values embedded within the Senandung Asahan Tradition have become iconic symbols and distinct features of the predominantly Islamic community. Aesthetic factors are manifested through the uniformity of presentation, such as attire. Meanwhile, identity-related exhibits unique and shared identities within the tradition.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are educational institutions that provide an understanding of religion and commit to developing a strong character which is based on the Islamic values. This research aims to investigate information and provide an understanding of the role of marching bands in forming the students’ character in Islamic boarding schools. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documents. The research participants consisted of marching band administrators, coaches, and students who were members of the marching band unit. The research results show that marching band activities effectively contributed to the development of student discipline, cooperation, creativity, and independence. This combination of training methods had created a holistic environment that supports the students' character development in Islamic boarding schools. Thus, marching band activities not only provide musical experience but also become a beneficial tool in forming strong character and integrity in students.

Abstract

This study aims to photograph the traditional process of making Minangkabau talempong from start to finish. Descriptive analysis methods are used in this qualitative study. The process of making is systematical, factual, accurate, and originally analyzed by thought in the light of library reviews, and journals. In the process of making it, black clay is mixed with chaff and milled red clay. The principal ingridients were brass or copper (Cu), tin (Sn), and iron (Fe). The process begins with the production of a wax talempong model, binding the wax talempong with a clay mixture to make a cast of talempong ground, and casting off its then casting, the matter is burned to extract the wax and is in a row sent out by interlaced. Eventually, the prints were destroyed and talempong produced. After cleaning, leveling, grinding, milling, and polished, talempong is ready. There are three varieties of talempong in size: (1) large; (2) moderate; and (3) small. The talempong is traditionally displayed by striking the outside to match the tone or striking the outside to match the tone.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the improvement of learning outcomes of the ancient Piring dance with the experimental method in class XI. F6 SMA N 14 Padang. This type of research is group action research or "classroom action research" which is carried out in 2 cycles with the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The tools in this study are the researcher himself and the assistance of supporting tools in the form of recording tools, cameras and test results. Data were collected through literature studies, observations, interviews and literature. The data is analyzed with a percentage formula. The results of the study prove that the use of practice methods in learning dance can stimulate students' enthusiasm and performance in the learning process and increase in each session, the average work of students in the first semester is 72.1% with good criteria, in the second term it is 74.7% the average percentage of student learning work with good criteria, in the third term it is 80.8%. After the implementation of cycle II, student learning achievement increased every semester, the average percentage of student academic achievement in the first semester was 85.1% very good, in the second semester it increased to 93.8% which is a very good measure. The results of students' practical skills with an average score of 70.8 to 96% have progressed very well. The results of this study reached the level of 85% which is the minimum level (KKM) so that student activities are effective on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of similar ensemble music learning in class X AKL SMK Negeri 1 Painan. A type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The main instrument in this study is the researcher himself who is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, paper, and mobile phones used to record and to take audio visual images. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The description process begins by examining the data carried out by selective selection. Then the data is displayed in descriptive form and composed in a systematic manner and then conclusions are drawn. The results of the study show that the learning of similar ensemble music runs in accordance with the learning objectives, namely students are able to play instruments in groups well. Piano musical instruments are used as a learning medium that plays two regional songs, namely the Kambanglah Bungo song and the Soleram song with a total of 31 students divided into two study groups. The learning outcomes of the students in the two groups were declared complete with scores above KKM 80.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the structure of the presentation of Barzanji at the Aqiqah event in Batu Hampa, Koto XI Tarusan District, South Coast, with a focus on the regilius elements and local culture integrated in this ritual. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with artists, religious leaders, and local communities, as well as visual documentation of the Aqiqah event. The results of the study show that the structure of presenting Barzanji consists of five main stages: preparation, opening, reading of the Barzanji text, joint prayer, and closing. The preparation stage involves arranging the venue and inviting religious leaders and the surrounding community. The reading of the barzanji text is carried out alternately by the artists. The joint prayer, led by Ustaz, became the core of the event with the aim of asking for blessings for the newborn. The event ended with a meal together as a symbol of gratitude and togetherness. The reading of Barzanji in the context of Aqiqah not only functions as a religious ritual, but also strengthens social and cultural relations in the community, and as a religious ritual this event is also a means of educating Islamic values for the younger generation and strengthening social ties in the community. This research provides new insights into the importance of preserving the Barzanji tradition in West Sumatra which is rich in regilian and cultural values.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out students' dance skills after using a video platform in learning Galombang dance in class VII (A) SMP Negeri 22 Padang. This type of research is classroom action research. This research uses 2 cycles which include planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection methods include observations, interviews and documents. The data was analyzed using a percentage formula. The results of the study prove that the use of visual media in dance education can increase learning outcomes and facilitate learning. It is said that students' abilities have increased from cycle I to cycle II, namely in cycle I the average score is 81.72, the percentage (44%) of students have achieved compliance, but (56%) of students. In the second cycle, students increased and reached KKM > 78, with an average score of 96.33 and the percentage (100%). Therefore, all students should achieve KKM > 78. It is known that practice in the classroom using props adds to the learning results of Galombang dance cultural arts students. In this way, video and audio platforms should be used to transform the teaching and learning environment to be more efficient, effective and engaging

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the teacher's efforts in increasing student creativity in class X mixed material of Science 1 SMAN 3 Padangpanjang. This type of research uses qualitative research using descriptive methods. The stage of application of cultural arts learning consists of 2 learnings, namely. 45 minutes per hour. Which is divided into three activities consisting of 15 minutes of opening or opening activities, 60 minutes of core activities and 15 minutes of closing or closing activities. Learning went well. However, when applied in the classroom, researchers observed a difference, namely the lack of student discipline in the implementation of learning, causing some students not to understand the previously completed learning until the teacher had to explain. prior learning so that students really understand the whole mix.

Abstract

Program The purpose of this research is to find out how the Abai community efforts in preserving the traditional music of canang limo and canang anam in Abai nagari, South Solok Regency. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method of analysis. The research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. The data in this study uses primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are data collection, describing data and concluding data. The results of the study show that efforts to preserve Canang Limo and Canang Anam have been carried out well by a female artist named Mak Maraya who has participated in various traditional events in Nagari. The art of Cnang Limo and Canang Anam, a traditional art of the community that has been passed down from generation to generation from the ancestors of.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran bernyanyi secara unisono di kelas VIII.5 di SMP Negeri 1 Batang Anai. Penelitian jenis ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan dibantu dengan alat tulis dan kamera. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Langkah-langkah menganalisis data adalah mengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan menyimpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran bernyanyi unisono di kelas VIII.5 SMP Negeri 1 Batang Anai terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Tahap perencanaan pada pelaksanaan bernyanyi unisono di kelas VIII.5 SMP Negeri 1 Batang Anai ini disesuai dengan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 dengan menggunakan materi materi bernyanyi secara unisono. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran bernyanyi unisono di kelas VIII.5 SMP Negeri 1 Batang Anai meliputi indikator intonasi, artikulasi, phrasering, teknik pernapasan dan resonansi dengan menanyikan lagu lagu Ampar-Ampar Pisang dan Ayam Den Lapeh. Pada pelaksanaanya masih banyak siswa yang tidak antusias pada pembalajaran bernyanyi secara unison dikarenakan masih banyak siswa yang tidak paham tentang teknik bernyanyi secara unisono. Disamping itu pada proses pembelajaran guru masih menggunakan ceramah tanpa banyak demonstrasi, sehingga beberapa siswa merasa kesulitan memahami dan mempraktikkannya secara langsung.Tahap evaluasi pembelajaran bernyanyi unisono di kelas VIII.5 SMP Negeri 1 Batang Anai dilakukan berdasarkan kelompok yang masing-masing nilai kelompok diambil dari rata-rata nilai akhir siswa. Pada tahap evaluasi ini nilai rata-rata pada tiap-tiap kelompok masih di bawah KKM terendah yaitu 75, karena masih banyak siswa yang kurang tepat dalam menyanyikan lagu Ampar-Ampar Pisang dan Ayam Den Lapeh secara maksimal dan banyak siswa yang kurang paham dan mengerti apa saja yang harus diperhatikan akan bernyanyi.
