Abstract

This study entitled "The Influence of Synthetic Structural Analytical Methods (SAS) on Improving Beginning Reading Ability." Covid-19. Yesterday's pandemic conditions left a number of interesting things in education, such as learning that is done online and is less effective. This is because those who have just learned to read at the beginning will have difficulty increasing their abilities. Online learning conditions do not allow teachers and students to meet face to face, while in learning to read the beginning it must be carried out directly. There are several indicators that cause reading difficulties in students, some of which are as follows. 1) students do not know the letters 2) students do not know the meaning of the sentences read. Therefore, researchers tested the use of the SAS method as a method of learning to read beginning. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach to the experimental method in improving the reading ability of grade 1 students at SDN 2 Ciudian Singajaya. The design in this study was a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental. The research population was class I students at SDN 2 Ciudian Singajaya with a total of 17 people using the quota (population) sampling technique. The data collection techniques are in the form of tests and observations. Testing the difference in values ​​is only carried out on the average of the two values, and for this purpose a technique called the z-test is used. The results obtained were: (1) the average ability obtained by students before being treated with the SAS method (pretest) was 81.37 (Enough); (2) the ability of the average score of students after being treated with the SAS method (post-test) is 91.17 (Very Good); (3) this study resulted in an acceptable H1, namely the use of the SAS method was effective in improving the reading ability of class I students at SDN 2 Ciudian Singajaya.

Abstract

This research examines the role of online media in Indonesia in reporting on sexual violence against women. Quality media is expected to present information objectively and in a balanced manner. However, often the news coverage on sexual harassment experienced by women portrays them within a particular narrative. Currently, the exploitation of women takes place through more sophisticated and well-packaged methods, including the discourse expressed in mass media. Women in the media are often visually highlighted but their true meaning is neglected. If this trend continues, the gender gap between women and men will be further reinforced, potentially leading to increased gender oppression with women as the main victims. The problem addressed in this study is the discourse analysis based on Sara Mills' theory. Sara Mills' feminist discourse theory discusses issues related to women, such as how women are portrayed in the news. The research methodology employed in this study is literature review. The research findings conclude that news texts exhibit bias in representing women within the context of sexual harassment across three different media platforms.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe and analyze the exclusion strategy on the news portal JawaPos, Merdeka.com, and Tempo.co in reporting cases of acute kidney failure in children, and (2) describe and analyze the inclusion strategy on the news portal JawaPos, Merdeka. com, and Tempo.co in reporting cases of acute kidney failure in children. The subject of this research is the news portal JawaPos, Merdeka.com, Tempo.co. The object of this research is the strategy of exclusion and inclusion in reporting cases of kidney failure caused by syrup drugs. The collection of news is based on purposive sampling technique, not all news is analyzed. The news closest to the research is selected. The results showed that (1) the exclusion strategy was widely used by the JawaPos portal (2) the inclusion strategy was widely used by the Tempo.co news portal in spreading the news. The conclusion of the research is that JawaPos uses more exclusion strategies (Passion) (100%) with the aim of hiding the perpetrators so that they do not appear in the news. On the other hand, Tempo.co tends to use an inclusion strategy (indifferentiation-differentiation) (49.8%) which is a strategy that provides additional information to corner certain subjects in the news rather than other strategies. Based on these conclusions, there are several suggestions that can be submitted, namely: (1) readers to be more critical and careful in sorting information, (2) media owners are expected to make news more balanced, (3) further research can be carried out by researchers outside the field. language, such as communication, and social.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the representation strategy of victims of sexual violence in online media coverage using the Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK) approach of the Theo van Leeuwen model. The object of study is five news articles from national online media, Kompas.com, Tempo.co, Merdeka.com, Detik.com, and Metrotvnews.com, that raised the case of rape by students of the Padjadjaran University specialist doctor education program (PPDS). The method used is descriptive qualitative with critical discourse text analysis techniques, including exclusion and inclusion strategies, such as passivation, nominalization, objectivation, identification, and assimilation. The results showed that in most news, the perpetrators were described explicitly by mentioning their social status and institutional affiliation. At the same time, the victims were often presented vaguely and subordinated in the sentence structure. This finding shows that the media has not fully sided with the perspective of victims, so the news has the potential to influence public perceptions of victims of sexual violence negatively. The implications of this research are recommended as teaching materials for news texts in Indonesian language learning at the high school level to form media literacy and students' critical perspectives on the issue of sexual violence.

Abstract

Dalam dunia politik, mengkritisi merupakan bagian dari kebebasan berpendapat. Hal ini tak terkecuali pada setiap tindakan yang dilakukan oleh para politisi. Pada pertemuan Anies Baswedan dan Gibran Rakabuming juga menuai banyak pro-kontra yang dilayangkan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji bagaimana analisis analisis kritis pada berita pertemuan Anies Baswedan dan Gibran Rakabuming dengan menggunakan metode Norman Fairclough. Metode penelitian ini merupakan metode penelitian diskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti mengambil pemberitaan mengenai pertemuan Anies Baswedan dan Gibran Rakabuming pada media online Detik News, Liputan6, Tempo, dan Tribun menggunakan kajian analisis Norman Fairclough dengan mengambil tiga aspek, yakni aspek analisis teks, analisis diskursif, dan analisis sosial kultural. Penelitian ini menggunakan Research Document. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberitaan pada setiap media tentang pertemuan Anies Baswedan dan Gibran Rakabuming sudah menyampaikan teks berita yang ditulis dengan kaidah jurnalistik serta berperan netral dalam memproduksi dan menyebarkan teks melalui wartawan dan penempatan narasumber yang sesuai.

Abstract

Praktik reflektif merupakan komponen krusial dalam pengembangan profesional guru, memungkinkan evaluasi dan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara berkelanjutan. Namun, pada kenyataannya, banyak guru kelas Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar yang masih minim dalam menerapkan praktik reflektif, sehingga berdampak pada stagnansi inovasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis problematika pembelajaran yang dihadapi guru kelas Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar akibat rendahnya penerapan praktik reflektif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Praktik reflektif menjadi fondasi penting dalam pengembangan profesional guru karena memungkinkan guru untuk meninjau, mengevaluasi, dan memperbaiki strategi pembelajaran berdasarkan pengalaman mengajar mereka. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif menggunakan desain studi kasus pada guru kelas di SDN 3 MANGKURAYAT, Kabupaten Garut. Data diperoleh melalui observasi lapangan dan kajian pustaka (library research), serta dianalisis secara tematik berdasarkan teori reflektif Schön, pengembangan profesional Guskey, dan konstruktivisme pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan empat faktor utama penyebab rendahnya praktik reflektif: keterbatasan konseptual guru terhadap makna refleksi, minimnya dukungan kelembagaan, beban kerja administratif yang tinggi, dan lemahnya keterampilan reflektif guru. Penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya penguatan budaya refleksi profesional di lingkungan pendidikan dasar melalui program pelatihan reflektif, mentoring sejawat, dan dukungan kelembagaan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of eleventh-grade students’ appreciation of Garut local food (dodol, burayot, and lunkhead) through culturally responsive teaching integrated with city branding strategies at SMAN 11 Garut. A culture-based approach is used to integrate Garut's local cultural values into the learning process, while city branding is utilized to promote regional culinary identities, such as dodol, burayot, and lunkhead.This qualitative case study involved 30 students in an eight-week intervention. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, student project analysis (posters, videos, Instagram campaigns), and focus group discussions. Thematic analysis was performed using six-phase framework with NVivo 14 software. The findings revealed three main themes: (1) enhanced understanding of cultural and nutritional values (87% of students), (2) high creativity in city branding promotion (73% of projects scored ≥4 on a 5-point scale), and (3) increased regional pride and active promotional behaviour (93% of students). The integration proved effective in preserving Garut’s culinary heritage and strengthening its identity as “Kota Dodol”.Â
