Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Teacher Professional Education Program (Pendidikan Profesi Guru or PPG) for English Language Teachers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang (UMSR). The research aims to explore the effectiveness of the program in enhancing the professional competencies of teachers, particularly focusing on pedagogical skills and content knowledge. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and field observations to gather insights from faculty members, program coordinators, and teacher participants. The results of the study reveal that while the PPG program has significantly contributed to improving the teaching skills of participants, several challenges persist, including issues related to infrastructure, internet connectivity, and teacher preparedness, particularly in rural areas. Despite these challenges, the blended learning model combining online instruction and face-to-face workshops has proven effective in delivering flexible learning opportunities for teachers. Additionally, the Practice Teaching and Field Practice (PPL) components provided valuable hands-on experience, allowing participants to apply theoretical knowledge in real classroom settings. The findings suggest that continuous support from the government and educational institutions is crucial for addressing the remaining obstacles and ensuring the long-term success of the PPG program. This study contributes to the broader understanding of teacher professional development in Indonesia and highlights the need for ongoing investment in education to improve teaching quality

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of animated video learning media on Indonesian language learning outcomes for class XI Madrasah Aliyah Modern Rahmatul Asri Maroangin Islamic Boarding School. This research is quantitative research with an experimental study method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study was 15 students/santri. The results of data analysis obtained from the pre-test (Y) were lower than the post-test results (X), namely Y = 26 < 05, which means there is a real difference between Indonesian language learning outcomes in the pre-test and post-test data. The results of the analysis with the final test show that students/santri who were taught after using the animated video learning media had a positive impact compared to students who were taught before using the animated video learning media.

Abstract

The research discusses the role and function of libraries in Islamic places of worship, specifically mosques, for the community or mosque visitors. The community here is categorized as people who visit the mosque, such as school children, teenagers, and adults. The aim of this research is to explain the extent of the role and function of mosque libraries for their users, who are predominantly Muslim. This study employs a qualitative research design with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The SLR is conducted for various purposes, including identifying, reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting all available research on a particular phenomenon with specific and relevant research questions. The results of the study indicate that mosque libraries serve as agencies for the community, as public spaces for sharing knowledge, selecting and synthesizing information, conducting research, and developing knowledge. They also act as partners in carrying out da'wah (Islamic outreach) and play a role in character education and community development. The collections provided are diverse and have been carefully selected, including the Qur'an, Hadith, and Tafsir (interpretations of the Qur'an), collections on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and aqidah (creed), sirah (biographies of the Prophet), and even fictional works such as novels and comics related to Islam. Additionally, there are bulletins, manuscripts, magazines discussing Islamic topics, as well as audio and video collections about Islam

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a global health problem with a high prevalence in Indonesia and requires comprehensive management, including non-pharmacological nutritional therapy. The choice of carbohydrate sources plays an important role because white rice has a high glycemic index, while brown rice has a lower glycemic index and contains fiber and bioactive compounds that have the potential to help control blood glucose. Therefore, this study aims to determine the nutritional content of brown rice that is relevant to the management of type 2 diabetes, to analyze the effect of brown rice consumption on glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes, to determine the effect of a brown rice diet on other metabolic parameters such as body weight, lipid profile, and insulin sensitivity, and to summarize the scientific evidence related to the potential of brown rice as an alternative dietary intervention for patients with type 2 diabetes. This study used a literature review method with a narrative review design. The results of the study showed that brown rice has nutritional content that is relevant to the management of type 2 DM, especially fiber, vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds that support improved glucose metabolism. The application of a brown rice diet contributes to improved glycemic control, as indicated by a decrease in fasting blood glucose, postprandial glucose, and HbA1c. In addition, brown rice consumption also has a positive impact on other metabolic parameters, including improved lipid profile, insulin sensitivity, and potential weight control. Overall, brown rice has the potential to be a healthier alternative source of carbohydrates and is applicable as part of non-pharmacological nutritional therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be concluded that a brown rice diet is an effective and safe non-pharmacological nutritional intervention to support the management of type 2 DM through improved glycemic control and metabolic parameters, making it a recommended alternative carbohydrate source in the patient's diet.

Abstract

This research aims to design and realize a prototype of a coconut milk machine based on Outseal PLC that integrates the grating and squeezing processes in one automatic system. The system uses Outseal Mega V.2 PLC as the main controller with Arduino Uno support for sensor reading. A load cell sensor is used to detect the weight of 1 kg of grated coconut as a parameter for the process transfer to the squeezing stage. The test results show that 1 kg of grated coconut produces approximately ½ liter (500 ml) of coconut milk. An ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the height of the coconut milk surface in the container, which is approximately 14.8 cm at a volume of 500 ml as the system's stop limit. The process of making coconut milk using the machine takes approximately 40 minutes, faster than the manual process which takes approximately 60 minutes. The results of the study indicate that the tool is able to increase time efficiency and reduce manual work processes in making coconut milk.

Abstract

Changes in water quality are the main focus in water management because they can have a major impact on the ecosystem. Water quality includes physical, chemical and biological conditions. Coverage of clean water and drinking water inspection data in Bima City reached 97.41%, while the feasibility percentage based on clean water and drinking water quality tests only reached 51.13%. The low percentage of appropriate clean water quality requires special attention. Based on this, researchers studied problems related to water quality, supply and level of need for clean water in Bima City. This research is an analytical observational study, and sampling was carried out using a non-random purposive sampling technique, and analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of physical water quality tests on 31 samples, the results showed that the physical quality of water met the requirements, the chemical quality of water in all measured samples met the requirements for class 1 and 2 clean water quality standards for the parameters DO, COD, total chlorine, nitrate, nitrite, and six valence chrome, while the BOD, Phosphate and Iron values did not meet the requirements (1/31 samples). The biological quality test showed that 12 samples did not meet the requirements for total coliforms (38.7%) and 3 samples showed the presence of E. coli bacteria (9.7%). On the other hand, it was recorded that 95.8% of respondents used shallow drilled wells for clean water; pump wells for 12.5% of respondents; PDAM constituted 16.6% of respondents; shallow drilled wells and PDAM 16.6%; and those using shallow drilled wells and hand pump wells 12.5%. Meanwhile, 37.5% use clean, untreated water and 62.5% use refilled drinking water.
