Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the tactics, chances, and difficulties that the Bengkulu City National Narcotics Board has faced when educating the younger generation (Gen Z) about P4GN. The concept of the Berlo SMCR communication model is employed in this study's descriptive qualitative analysis to describe the tactics, possibilities, and difficulties faced by PUPAN Bengkulu in spreading P4GN information. The study's informants were chosen using the snowball sampling approach. Techniques for gathering data included recordkeeping, interviews, and observation. The strategies employed in data analysis include data reduction, data visualisation, and conclusion drawing. PUPAN Bengkulu uses a communication strategy that is carried out through the creation of strategic plans, their implementation, evaluation, and management. Prior to distributing P4GN material, PUPAN Bengkulu first identifies and selects the resource person. It next ascertains the intended recipient of the P4GN material and composes the message in accordance with the recipient. The media and communication channels that PUPAN Bengkulu uses to spread P4GN information are selected based on the kind of media that the general public accesses most frequently. PUPAN Bengkulu has a number of obstacles, including a shortage of manpower, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, geographic limitations, and difficulties mobilising large numbers of people during the epidemic.

Abstract

This study investigates the declining interest of the younger generation in agricultural careers, despite agriculture’s vital role in national economic growth and food security. Generation Z, living in the digital era, tends to prefer technology-oriented fields rather than conventional agriculture. Therefore, this research examines the influence of audio-visual animated video media as an innovation in agricultural learning to increase students’ interest and learning outcomes. The study was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Beringin, Deli Serdang Regency, which has strong potential to develop technology-based education but has not yet implemented direct agricultural learning. Using a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group model, the research involved 60 twelfth-grade students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, and questionnaires, and analyzed using SPSS through validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity tests, followed by simple linear regression, t-tests, and F-tests. The results show that the use of aeroponic agriculture audio-visual animated video media has a significant influence on increasing students’ interest and learning outcomes compared to conventional methods. The integration of visual and animated elements enhances engagement, clarifies complex agricultural concepts, and provides more interactive and contextual learning experiences. Overall, this study concludes that the use of audio-visual animated video media not only improves learning performance but also strengthens the image of agriculture as a modern, innovative, and technology-based field, supporting the regeneration of future farmers in the digital era. Keywords: agriculture, animated video, audio-visual media, learning outcomes, student interest

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the trends in publications regarding terrorism and social media in Indonesia in 2010 to 2023. The data is categorized by publication year, research topics, and fields of study. Researchers also calculated the citations received by each publication By using citation analysis, the study seeks to uncover patterns of scholarly attention, identify the most cited works, and determine the degree to which Indonesian research is integrated into the global discourse on terrorism and digital media. This research is necessary because of limited bibliometric assessment of how this field has grown and how influential it has been.  The research findings indicate that publication trends peaked in 2021 in several topics such as radicalization/propaganda, counter radicalism/deradicalization, and religious moderation. The fields of Islamic studies and Communication studies were the most prolific in publishing studies on this subject. Of the 165 articles analyzed, only 15 articles received more than 10 citations in the broader terrorism research. On average, social media and terrorism research were cited only six times per publication in the broader terrorism literature. These suggest a lack of integration with the broader terrorism literature.

Abstract

Digital political campaigns have become a key phenomenon in contemporary politics. They significantly transform the patterns of communication between political parties, candidates, and voters. This study aims to analyze the development, dynamics, and implications of digital political campaigns on voter behavior as well as political communication strategies in the era of information technology. Using a qualitative approach through literature review of scholarly articles, the results show that digital political campaigns offer high efficiency in reaching a broad audience and enable the personalization of messages based on big data and predictive analytics. However, this practice also brings new challenges, such as the spread of disinformation, political polarization, and manipulation of public opinion. This method employs a qualitative literature review of peer-reviewed studies (2020–2025) and, where relevant, clarifies the analytical lens used, such as thematic or categorical analysis. This approach enhances methodological transparency without adding excessive length. These findings affirm that digital transformation in political campaigns is not merely a change in medium, but also a paradigm shift in political communication. Therefore, transparent digital governance, adaptive regulation, and political digital literacy for society are essential to ensure that digital political campaigns are conducted ethically and strengthen democratic values.

Abstract

The 2025 Cilacap landslide occurred in a region with an expired disaster risk assessment document. This study aims to analyze the discourse network structure in online media reports on the 2025 Cilacap landslide using discourse network analysis (DNA) to reveal how actors collaborate in narratives about causes and solutions and their implications for the public agenda and mitigation policies. The analysis unit used 37 news articles from online media verified by the Press Council on November 13-28, 2025, and analyzed using DNA 3.0.11 and Visone 2.28.2. The data were annotated by actors, organizations, and concepts, divided into cause data (65 statements from 27 articles) and solution data (16 statements from 10 articles), and then calculated for centrality (degree, betweenness, closeness). Results show that high-intensity rainfall achieved the highest degree centrality (16.129 %) among causal factors and was supported by a strong coalition of national agencies (BNPB, BMKG, Geological Agency). Anthropogenic and governance-related factors appeared but remained peripheral (centrality < 3 %). In the solution network, temporary shelters (huntara) and BNPB were most central (betweenness centrality 37.931% and 62.069%, respectively). At the same time, long-term measures (reforestation, spatial planning, technology-based early warning systems) were mentioned but isolated (betweenness centrality 0%). The study reveals a media discourse heavily reliant on official national sources, leading to meteorological explanations and short-term emergency responses that overshadow structural mitigation narratives. This study is limited to textual analysis of news reports; future research may complement it with interviews or production-side analysis.

Abstract

News reporting on criminal offenders with disabilities potentially generates framing that violates journalistic ethical guidelines. This study aims to analyze the framing of criminal offenders with disabilities and to identify journalistic ethical violations on the online media platform Tribunnews.com. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki’s framing analysis method. The research subjects consist of 12 news articles concerning a criminal offender with a disability, I Wayan Agus Suartama or IWAS, published between January 9–17, 2025, on Tribunnews.com. The analysis was conducted through syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures, and evaluated using Article 8 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics and the Press Council Regulation Number 01/PERATURAN DP/II/2021 concerning Guidelines for Disability-Friendly Reporting. The results indicate that Tribunnews.com frames IWAS in four ways: as an emotional individual, having daily activity limitations, a dangerous criminal, and a vulnerable/frail party. Furthermore, all analyzed articles were identified as committing ethical violations against Article 8 of the KEJ and breaching five points (Points 1–5) of the Press Council Regulation Number 01/PERATURAN-DP/II/2021 concerning Guidelines for Disability-Friendly Reporting. Nevertheless, the reporting remains informative.
