Abstract

Abstract This research was conducted from October to December 2019 in the Peatlands of Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, at the Aquaculture Environmental Quality Laboratory of the Fisheries and Maritime Faculty and the Marine Biology Chemistry Laboratory of the Fisheries and Maritime Faculty, Riau University. The purpose of this study was to improve the effect of adding a mixture of human faecal biofertilizer and cow faecal biofertilizer in increasing phytoplankton abundance, growth and survival of catfish in peat ponds. This research method is an experimental method, a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using 1 factor (biofertilizer mixture) and 5 treatment stages (P0: without giving biofertilizer mixture; P1: giving 20% human feces biofertilizer mixture + 80% bovine feces; P2: giving biofertilizer mixture 40% human feces + 60% cow feces; P3: administration of biofertilizer mixture 60% human feces + 40% cow feces and P4: administration of biofertilizer mixture 80% human feces + 20% cow feces) with 3 replications. The results of this study showed that P4 (giving 80% human feces + 20% cow feces biofertilizer mixture) was the best treatment to increase the abundance of phytoplankton (48,435 ind/L), weight weight (17.30 gram), absolute length (4.40 cm) and survival of catfish (86%) compared to other treatments. Also showed the parameters of water quality in accordance with the survival of catfish. The water quality parameter values at P4 are temperature (26-29oC), ppH (6-7), DO (4.2-6.0 mg/L), free CO2(32.71-26.10 mg/L) , nitrate (3.05 mg/L) and orthoposphate (4.12 mg/L). Keyword: Peat Soil, Biofertilizer Mixture, Phytoplankton, Catfish

Abstract

Research of toxicity of Heavy Metal Hg (Mercury) and Sublethal Test to Pangasius hypophtalmus has been conducted on October to November 2016 in Laboratory of Environmental Quality Cultivation of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine University of Riau. The objective of this research were measured the concentrations of toxicity for Pangasius hypophtalmus in short time period in controlcondition. In this study, static 96-h acute toxicity test were carried out using Pangasius hypophtalmus as test organisms. Probit analysis using the computer software EPA and graphical method were used to calculate the 96-h LC50 depending on data suitability. Result of the 96-h LC50 and Biological Safety Level of heavy metal Hg were 0,201 mg/L and 0,00201 mg/L. The increase of heavy metal Hg (Mercury) concentrations can be low the absolute growth rate and daily of the Pangasius hypophtalmus larvaeKeywords : Toxicity, Mercury, Sublethal, Pangasius hypophtalmus.

The Objective of the research was to obtain an overview of COD and BOD value changes during the study on container or media life of fish Snakeskin Gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus Blkr) by given palm oil effluent with different doses. The method used in this study is an experimental, 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used in this study is P0: no palm oil waste (control), P1: 1,286 ml/L P2 : 12,86 ml/L, P3 : 25,72 ml/L, P4 : 38,58 ml/L. The results showed that each containers research by palm oil waste with different doses decreased the velue COD and BOD. The highest the COD value of 185,33 mg/L with descreased to 80,67 mg/L, and the highest the BOD value of 101,33 mg/L descreased to 41,33 mg/L, and COD value of this research is the lowest in the control treatment that is the COD value of 9.67 mg/L, and the lowest is in the BOD value of the control that is equal to 5 mg/L.Key words : Changes, COD, BOD, Palm Oil Waste, Trichogaster trichopterus

Abstract

Selama pemeliharaan, diperoleh Nilai LC50 96 jam sebesar 230,57 ml/L sedangkan Nilai Batas Aman Biologi (Biological Safety Level) sebesar 2,30 ml/L.
