Abstract

Hutan mangrove atau bakau merupakan salah satu bentuk komunitas yang ada di daerah pasang surut dan khas yang mendukung kehidupan biota lain. Hock and Sasekumar (1979) melaporkan adanya primata yang hidup di hutan mangrove. Primata tersebut adalah monyet ekor panjang (Macaca fascicularis) dan lutung (Presbytis cristata). Selain itu, jenis-jenis burung, kepiting (Aratus pisonii, Erickson et al., 2004), semut (Oecophylla smaragdina, Offenberg et al., 2004). Selain itu, hutan mangrove ini sangat penting sebagai tempat berbiaknya jenis-jenis invertebrate dan ikan.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Rumput laut merupakan salah satu komoditi laut yang memiliki nilai ekspor karena biota laut ini menghasilkan senyawa hidrokoloid bernilai ekonomi tinggi dan digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri pangan dan farmasi. Namun demikian, mutu rumput laut Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) belum dapat mencapai standar ekspor karena kadar karaginan dan kekerasan gelnya rendah serta memiliki kadar kotoran lebih dari 2%. Artikel ini melaporkan pendampingan budidaya rumput laut yang dirangkai dengan budidaya tanaman pertanian dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu produksi rumput laut dan peningkatan pendapatan pembudidaya rumput laut. Kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan dengan cara secara bersama melakukan budidaya rumput laut jenis Eucheuma cottonii dan Eucheuma striatum (sakul) dan budidaya tanaman jagung dan cabai yang dimulai sejak bulan Maret sampai bulan September 2020. Selama proses pendampingan budidaya rumput laut, dilakukan pengambilan sampel rumput laut seminggu sekali selama 6 minggu untuk mengukur pertumbuhan dan kadar karaginan. Selama masa tunggu panen rumput laut (45 hari) pembudidaya rumput laut diajarkan berbudidaya tanaman pertanian sebagai penghasilan tambahan sehingga pembudidaya tidak melakukan panen rumput laut sebelum 45 hari. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat menyadarkan pembudidaya rumput laut untuk memanen rumput laut pada umur paling cepat 45 hari. Panen rumput laut pada umur tersebut dapat ditunjukkan rendemen berat kering dan karaginan dapat mencapai 22,63% (E. cottonii), dan 38,63% (E. striatum) dan 32,26%. Dengan meningkatnya mutu rumput laut tersebut maka harga jual juga mengalami peningkatan dari harga Rp13.000 – Rp14.000 menjadi Rp20.000 – Rp22.000 per kilogram kering. Akhirnya, peningkatan harga jual per kilogram kering tersebut tentunya dapat meningkatkan pendapatan pembudidaya rumput laut di Teluk Ekas. ABSTRACT Seaweed is one of the sea goods with export value as this marine biota produces hydrocolloid compounds with high economic value and used as a raw material for the food and pharmaceutical industries. However, the quality of the algae from West Nusa Tenggara could not meet the export standards, as the carrageenan content and gel hardness are low and contain more than 2% impurities. This article reports on helping seaweed cultivation in conjunction with growing agricultural crops to improve the quality of seaweed production and increase the income of seaweed farmers. The auxiliary activities are carried out by jointly cultivating Eucheuma cottonii and Eucheuma striatum (Sakul) from March to September 2020 and growing corn and chillies. Sampling also conducted every week to measure growth and carrageenan of seaweed. During the waiting period for the algae harvest (45 days), the algae growers are taught to grow agricultural crops as additional income so that the farmers do not harvest the seaweed before 45 days. The results of this community service can alert seaweed growers to harvesting seaweed at the earliest age of 45 days. The algae harvest at this age can show the dry weight yield and carrageenan can reach 22,63% (E. cottonii) and 38,63% (E. striatum) and 32,26%. With the increase in the quality of the algae, the sales price rose from IDR13,000 - IDR14,000 to IDR20,000 - IDR22,000 of dry seaweed per kilogram. After all, increasing the selling price per seaweed dry kilogram will surely increase the incomes of seaweed farmer in Ekas Bay. Abstract

Ekonomi hijau adalah konsep ekonomi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan dan kesetaraan sosial masyarakat, serta mengurangi risiko kerusakan lingkungan. Ekonomi hijau memprioritaskan investasi dan akses terhadap sistem berkelanjutan, infrastruktur, dan pendidikan yang dibutuhkan. Ekonomi hijau juga menawarkan peluang untuk kehidupan, usaha, dan pekerjaan yang ramah lingkungan dan layak. Sosialisasi ekonomi hijau adalah proses yang diperlukan untuk mengimplementasikan pembangunan ekonomi hijau. Kami sebagai mahasiswa yang melakukan pengabdian terhadap masyarakat melalui program kuliah kerja nyata (KKN) ikut turut berpastisipasi dalam program sosialisi pentingnya ekonomi hijau untuk mengurasi resiko kerusakan lingkungan dan alam sekitar.

Abstract

Desa Alor Besar memiliki kelompok UMKM yang terbentuk untuk memaksimalkan hasil tangkapan lautnya, kelompok ini berfokus pada produksi Ikan Asap dengan produk turunan Sambal Ikan Asap dan Boncabe Ikan Asap. Kelompok UMKM Desa Alor Besar menghadapi permasalahan terhadap kegiatan pemasaran, kurang maksimalnya pembukuan yang dilakukan oleh kelompok. Selain itu harga produk yang terbilang tinggi hingga tidak dapat menjangkau masyarakat sekitar dalam penjualan. Tujuan dari kegiatan pemberdayaan ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kapasitas UMKM Alor Besar dalam melakukan pemasaran, pengelolaan keuangan dan inovasi produk melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Dari kegiatan tersebut kelompok UMKM memahami dengan baik mengenai pemasaran, pembukuan sederhana dan pembuatan produk yang buktikan dari hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman kelompok UMKM Desa Alor Besar.

Abstract

Budidaya maggot dari larva Black Soldier Fly (BSF) telah muncul sebagai solusi inovatif untuk masalah pengelolaan sampah organik dan penyediaan pakan ternak yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manfaat budidaya maggot bagi lingkungan dan ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan analisis data kuantitatif mengenai kapasitas kandang dan hasil panen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budidaya maggot tidak hanya efektif dalam mengurangi limbah organik, tetapi juga menyediakan pakan ternak yang ekonomis. Selain itu, produk samping berupa kotoran maggot (kasgot) memiliki potensi besar sebagai pupuk organik yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Dengan demikian, budidaya maggot menawarkan keuntungan ganda dalam aspek lingkungan dan ekonomi.

Abstract

Wastewater management in hospitals is an important aspect to maintain environmental quality and public health. This research evaluates the effectiveness of the Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL) at the Regional General Hospital of West Nusa Tenggara Province (RSUDP NTB) using a biofilter system. The research was conducted for 30 days with a focus on operational observations, interviews with staff, and analysis of wastewater treatment data. The results show that the NTB RSUDP WWTP consists of seven units with varying capacities and involves pre-processing and main processing stages. Despite comprehensive operations, challenges such as pipe blockages and problems with flow meters still occur. Recommendations include improving routine maintenance, optimizing processing processes, and outreach regarding solid waste disposal.

Abstract

The history of Sesait Village, which used to be 90% of the Kayangan sub-district area. The tradition in Sesait Village is the rules for nurak like "aji makem" in the belek grave. This tradition uses plants as the main ingredients in this tradition. The plants used are betel leaves, bitter melon (pare bulu/pare rau), beleleng, elas. The food, dye and medicinal plants in Sesait Village are very diverse. Food, dye and medicinal plants have various benefits, not only as food, dye and medicinal plants. Efforts to conserve food, dye and medicinal plants are carried out by the people of Sesait Village by planting these plants in their own yards

Abstract

The study entitled Characteristics of Food Tree Habitat and Langur Population in Jeruk Manis Tourism, Kembang Kuning Resort, TNGR aims to understand the role of habitat in the survival of the Javan langur (Trachypithecus auratus), an endangered primate species. The Javan langur functions as a natural seed disperser in the forest, and its presence is very important for the plant regeneration process. This study was conducted in November-December 2024 in Kembang Kuning Village, East Lombok, using the population census method and vegetation analysis. The research method includes collecting data on the langur population through the concentration method and vegetation analysis by creating sample plots measuring 20 x 20 m. The results showed that the langur population varied in various plots, with a higher proportion of adult individuals in some locations, indicating group stability. The data also showed that the bajur tree (Pterocarpus indicus) was the main food source with a high Importance Value Index (INP) value. This study provides insight into the composition and structure of vegetation in the langur habitat, as well as the importance of conserving this species in the face of threats from hunting and habitat loss. By understanding the characteristics of the habitat and distribution patterns of the langur population.

Abstract

Host plants play an important role in the survival of butterflies, especially in the larval phase which is highly dependent on certain types of plants to obtain nutrients and essential chemicals. Various efforts need to be made to preserve the diversity of butterflies in the Gunung Tunak TWA Area through identification of butterfly larval host plants. This study was conducted to identify the diversity of butterfly larval host plants in the Gunung Tunak Nature Tourism Park, Central Lombok, NTB. Data collection was carried out using the exploration method for four days in two main locations, namely the breeding area and the observation route. The identification results found seven species of host plants, namely Pagoda (Clerodendrum japonicum), Biduri (Calotropis gigantea), Beringin (Ficus hispida), Aristukia (Aristolochia tagala), Bunga Air Mata Pengantin (Antigonon leptopus), Jeruk Purut (Citrus hystrix), and Jeruk Lemon (Citrus limon). Four of the seven plants found are hosts for butterfly larvae of the Nymphalidae family. Aristukia plants were only found in limited numbers, which may affect the survival of the protected butterfly species, Troides helena. These results emphasize the importance of conserving host plants to support the sustainability of butterfly populations in this area.
