Abstract

Scientific reasoning skills are key competencies in 21st-century science education. One learning strategy believed to promote the development of these skills is the faded example, which involves presenting examples whose solutions are gradually reduced to support students' independent thinking processes. This study aims to map trends and relationships between the faded example strategy and scientific reasoning through bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer. A total of 87 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed thematically. The visualization results show that the topic of faded examples is frequently associated with problem-solving, while scientific reasoning appears more often in the broader context of science education. Although no explicit relationship has been found in the existing literature, there are indications of a conceptual connection between the two. Furthermore, further research is needed that explicitly and systematically integrates the faded example strategy into the development of scientific reasoning in inquiry-based science learning.

Abstract

The demands of 21st century learning require teachers to develop learning media that are not only in accordance with student learning needs but also adapt to the era, one of the relevant media alternatives is the website. The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential application of website-based learning media with a differentiated and ESD-oriented approach to Biotechnology material. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, the research subjects are 10 biology teachers in Kebumen Regency and 95 students at SMAN 1 Karanganyar, Kebumen Regency. Data collection techniques through questionnaires for teachers and students and document analysis of teacher teaching modules, then analyzed descriptively based on the average value of each indicator. The scale categories are divided into 0-20% very poor, 21-40% poor, 41-60% fair, 61-80% good, and 81-100% very good. The results of the teacher questionnaire analysis showed that the indicators of teacher understanding of differentiated learning obtained an average of 73% (Good), teacher understanding of ESD 72% (Good), teaching habits of teachers 74% (Good), infrastructure conditions 81% (Very Good), and the potential of the Website 90% (Very Good). The results of the analysis of student questionnaires obtained results for the category of student learning habits average 76.3% (Good), habits of using the website 74.8% (Good), and supporting infrastructure 72.1% (Good). The results of the module analysis show that the implementation of differentiated learning is good but the integration of ESD has not been done explicitly. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the development of ESD-oriented differentiated learning websites has the potential to be applied in learning Biotechnology materials.

Abstract

Along with the development of the era, the emergence of the free sex phenomenon that can have an impact on the reproductive health of students. This proves a decline in character that is not in accordance with the profile of Pancasila students. To improve the profile of Pancasila students, a learning device that is integrated with the Qur'an in the material of the Human reproductive system was developed. In this study, to determine the effectiveness of the biology learning device integrated with the Qur'an in the material of the human reproductive system can improve the profile of Pancasila students, especially in the dimension of critical reasoning skills. The learning device was developed in a development research or Research and Development (R & D) using the ADDIE design, in grade IX students of MTs Al Furqon. The samples used in the study were two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class using purposive sampling techniques. To measure the level of critical reasoning skillss of students using pre-test and post-test questions. The data analysis technique used N-Gain to determine the effectiveness of the learning device. The results of the N-Gain percentage of the experimental class were 65.58%, while for the control class it was 44.03%. The integrated biology learning device of the Qur'an on the Human Reproductive System Material is stated to be quite effective in improving the profile of Pancasila students in the critical reasoning dimension.
