Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed educational practices, particularly through the integration of gamified learning platforms such as Quizizz. This study aimed to explore students satisfaction with the use of Quizizz in Geography learning and to identify which aspects most influence their learning experience. Employing a descriptive quantitative design, data were collected from 35 tenth grade students through a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring four key indicators: interactivity, ease of use, learning motivation, and material comprehension. Data were analyzed using mean scores and frequency distribution to determine overall satisfaction levels. The results revealed that students satisfaction with Quizizz based gamification was categorized as neutral (mean=3.01). Among the four aspects, material comprehension obtained the highest score (mean=3.13), suggesting that real-time feedback effectively supported students conceptual understanding. In contrast, learning motivation recorded the lowest score (mean=2.90), indicating possible fatigue from repetitive quiz formats and competitive features. Technical barriers, such as unstable internet connections, also affected students engagement and comfort. These findings suggest that while Quizizz provides valuable interactive learning experiences, its effectiveness depends on pedagogical variation and contextual adaptation. Teachers are encouraged to integrate gamified tools strategically to sustain motivation and enhance overall student satisfaction in Geography education

Abstract

Student participation and achievement in geography learning are often low due to limited use of contextual learning approaches. This study aimed to improve students learning activity and academic performance in Geography among tenth-grade students at Senior High School 1 Kampar through the REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) learning model. The study employed a classroom action research design conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The participants were 38 students in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation sheets and achievement tests and analyzed descriptively with a paired sample t-test. The findings showed that student activity scores increased from 64.2 in Cycle I to 88.4 in Cycle III, and learning outcomes improved from 67.5 to 89.6, with significant differences across cycles (p < 0.05). These results demonstrate that the REACT model effectively enhances students’ engagement and academic performance. The implication of this study is that the REACT model can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy to promote active, contextual, and meaningful learning in geography education and other related disciplines

Abstract

This study examines how conflict management strategies are implemented in the multicultural area of Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This district is known as an economic and tourism hub that brings together people from diverse backgrounds every day, ranging from Malay, Chinese, and Indian communities to expatriates from around the world (Abdullah, 2019). Such diversity is a strength that makes Bukit Bintang vibrant, yet it can also give rise to tensions—socially, economically, and culturally. The history of Kuala Lumpur’s urbanization shows that multiethnic interactions have not always been smooth, particularly when related to resource distribution or the use of public spaces. To understand these conditions, the study employs a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). The findings show that Bukit Bintang’s primary strength lies in its diversity, but weaknesses emerge due to limited regulations and the absence of dialogue spaces that can bring all parties together. On the other hand, increasing awareness of the importance of multiculturalism and supportive government policies create major opportunities for fostering harmony. However, threats such as social segregation and economic inequality continue to loom. The proposed strategies include strengthening cross-cultural forums, promoting cultural literacy education, and creating inclusive policies based on community participation. With these measures, Bukit Bintang has the potential to become a real example of how a multicultural city can grow peacefully and adaptively in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with the help of Google Earth media on students' learning interest in geography learning at SMAN 1, Payakumbuh District. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of class X.E2 as the experimental class and class X.E3 as the control class which were selected randomly. Data on students' learning interest were obtained through a questionnaire, while data on learning outcomes were obtained through a test, then analyzed using prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests with paired sample t-tests. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL model assisted by Google Earth had a positive effect on students' learning interest, as indicated by the average posttest of the experimental class of 86.00 and the control class of 71.43.

Abstract

Land-use conversion from forests to oil palm plantations in Tualang District, Siak Regency, has intensified environmental and settlement pressures, requiring systematic evaluation. This study aims to analyse the spatial dynamics of forest conversion, assess environmental and settlement impacts, and formulate sustainable management strategies. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating spatial analysis of Landsat and Sentinel imagery, field surveys, observations, and in-depth interviews. Spatial change analysis and SWOT analysis were applied to interpret land-use dynamics and management options. The results indicate that from 2015 to 2025, oil palm expansion increased markedly, with forest and peatland conversion accounting for more than one-quarter of the total area. These changes led to soil degradation, biodiversity loss, increased runoff, water contamination, and reduced community access to natural resources. The proposed strategies emphasize conserving ecological buffers, strengthening community monitoring capacity, enforcing land-use regulations, and promoting sustainable plantation practices. Overall, integrated spatial planning and community participation are essential to ensure environmentally sustainable oil palm development.
