Abstract

Pemakaian insektisida kimia memang sangat mudah dan cepat membunuh serangga sasaran. Akan tetapi, efek yang ditinggalkan adalah berupa residu yang dapat masuk ke dalam komponen lingkungan karena bahan aktif sangat sulit terurai di lingkungan. selain itu, resistensi terhadap serangga sasaran pun dapat terjadi dengan penggunaan insektisida kimia secara tidak bijak. Untuk itu, diperlukan insektisida nabati untuk mengurangi resistensi dan residu di lingkungan. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan insektisida adalah daun tembakau. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kandungan nikotin pada daun tembakau, mengekstraksinya, memanfaatkan ekstrak tersebut sebagai insektisida nabati pembunuh Aedes sp. dan memformulasikan dosis yang tepat serta menentukan efektitivitasnya dalam membunuh nyamuk Aedes sp. dalam lingkungan pemukiman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode maserasi limbah daun tembakau yang diujicobakan ke nyamuk Aedes sp. Penelitian dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap, yaitu tahap pembuatan ekstrak dengan metode maserasi, rearing nyamuk, dan penyemprotan ekstrak pada nyamuk. Hasil yang diperoleh sebanyak 1 kg limbah daun tembakau dapat menghasilkan 100,7 ml ekstrak maserasi tembakau. Dan sebesar 95,3% ekstraks maserasi daun tembakau konsentrasi 90% efektif untuk membunuh nyamuk Aedes sp.

Abstract

Penyakit radang kulit bernanah atau sering disebut impetigo merupakan penyakit infeksi menular pada kulit yang superficial, yaitu hanya menyerang epidermis kulit yang menyebabkan terbentuknya lepuhan-lepuhan kecil berisi nanah (pustula) seperti tersundut rokok atau api. Penyakit ini merupakan salah satu contoh pioderma yag sering dijumpai di bagian Ilmu Penyakit Kulit dan Kelamin. Terdapat dua jenis impetigo yaitu impetigo bulosa yang disebabkan oleh Stafilokokus aureus dan non-bulosa yang disebabkan oleh Streptokokus β hemolitikus. Dasar infeksinya adalah kurangnya hygiene dan terganggunya fungsi kulit. Insiden impetigo ini terjadi hampir di seluruh dunia. Paling sering mengenai usia 2-5 tahun, umumnya mengenai anak yang belum sekolah. Namun tidak menutup kemungkinan untuk semua umur dimana frekuensi laki-laki dan wanita sama. Dengan melakukan pemanfaatan bunga teratai yang memiliki kandungan Quercetin yaitu salah satu senyawa flavonoid yang dapat mengurangi atau meringankan peradangan yang disebabkan oleh radikal bebas, karena radikal bebas dapat mengaktifkan faktor transkripsi yang menghasilkan sitokin pro-inflamasi yang sering ditemukan pada pasien yang menderita peradangan kronis. Pengobatan ini dilakukan dengan metode plester herbal berbahan bunga teratai yang dapat digunakan oleh penderita impetigo untuk penyembuhan dan penanganan dini terhadap infeksi tersebut.

Abstract

Background : Processed beverage powder is a drink that comes from fruit juice with a variety of flavors. Poor processing of powdered drinks can cause contamination, such as contamination of Coliform bacteria, Escherichia coli and fungi, which if consumed can cause diarrhea. The purpose of this research is to analyze correlations between hygiene sanitation and microbiological quality of powdered drink processed in Elementary School and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Gunungpati Public Health Center Semarang). Methods : This is an observational analytic study with cross sectional study design. The samples were 70 participants consists of 35 samples processed powdered drinks and 35 ready to drink samples . Data were analyzed using Chi Square and Mantel Haenszel. The result showed that 23 samples (65,7%) of processed powdered  drinks were contaminated with Coliform, 22 samples (62,9%) were contaminated with Escherichia coli and 4 samples (11,4%) contaminated fungus. While 5 samples (14,3%) of drink powder contaminated with Escherichia coli. Result : This study showed  correlation between personal hygiene and microbiological quality of processed powdered drinks b (p=0,023), but has no correlation between personal hygiene and microbiological quality of processed powdered drinks of an outside canteen (p=0,236). Mantel Haenszel  test showed  correlation between personal hygiene and microbiological quality of processed powdered drinks of inschool canteen and outside canteen (p=0,013). There is no relation between equipment sanitation with micorbiological quality of processed powdered drinks of inschool canteen (p=1) and outside canteen (p=1) and p value Mantel Haenszel 0,971. There is no relation between  sanitation and microbiological quality of processed powdered drinks of inschool canteen (p=0,371) and outside canteen (p=1) and p value of Mantel Haenszel was 0,783.Conclusion : Most of the powder drink preparations were found to be positive Coliform and Escherichia coli, but a small percentage of processed powder drink contaminated with fungus

Abstract

Rats are rodents that can harm humans. Rats can be a reservoir of several diseases for humans or animals.” One of the public facilities where rats can be found in high numbers is the market. Under certain conditions, rats can migrate, this allows rats that are in the market to move to the surrounding settlements. The purpose of this study was to assess the density of rats in the settlements around Simongan Market. The research was done in October 2020. This was a descriptive reasearch with survey method and cross sectional approach. The result of the research in Simongan market surrounding settlements obtained species Rattus norvegicus (60%), Rattus tanezumi (20%), and Mus musculus (20%) The relative density or trap success in Simongan market surrounding settlements is 5,0%.

Abstract

The use of insecticides is the community's primary choice in controlling adult Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in the community. However, information on the application practices of household use of insecticides, especially in the Port Health Office's working area, is still limited. This study aimed to determine household insecticides' application in the buffer area of the Sampit Sea Port. This research is a descriptive survey with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was carried out by random sampling of 101 household respondents from 7 neighborhood units in 2 sub-districts, the Sampit Port Health Office's working area. The results showed the high dependence of the community on household insecticides (97.03%), most of them chose coil/burn formulations (46.27%), the frequency of use was > 1 time a day (60.20%) with the application time at night ( 92.86%) and has been used for more than ten years (55.30%). Meanwhile, the active ingredients of household insecticides are synthetic pyrethroid and DEET (diethyltoluamide).

Abstract

Malaria is an infectious disease caused by mosquito vectors, and still a health problem in several countries, especially countries with tropical climates, one of them is Indonesia. Parasites with the genus Plasmodium are the cause of malaria transmitted by the bite of female Anopheles spp. Purworejo Regency had the highest number of malaria cases in 2018 and still a malaria-endemic area in Central Java. This study aims to determine the diversity of Anopheles spp founded in cattle sheds and breeding places. This study was a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional study design between July - August 2020. This study's sample was the larval phase of Anopheles spp. which were caught from breeding sites using an entomological survey. The adult mosquitos are caught in the cattle pen with the resting method. The diversity of mosquitoes were Anopheles aconitus, Anopheles flavirostris, Anopheles kochi, Anopheles limosus, Anopheles maculatus, and Anopheles vagus. Anopheles vagus is a species of mosquito that is found in breeding places and livestock pens. Anopheles vagus' abundance was 95.16%, Anopheles aconitus, Anopheles flavirostris, Anopheles kochi, and Anopheles limosus relative abundance of 0.81%, and Anopheles maculatus of 1.61%.

Abstract

The incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Indonesia is still fluctuating, indicating that the handling carried out in the community is still running optimally. Several studies have shown that community empowerment is able to increase community knowlendge and community awarness by using targeted implementation. The purpose of this study was to determine the form of community empowerment in the prevention and control of DHF. The method used in this research is literature review study. Libraries are made online through several website or internet sites such as MEDLINE, ScienDirect, Garuda, and Google Scholar. This research was conducted on 21 articles consisting of 15 national articles and 6 international articles. The result of this research is increasing public knowledge about the problem of DHF.

Abstract

In 2017 the number of complete basic immunization coverage in Indonesia had not yet reached the national standard coverage and for complete basic immunization coverage of infants in high-risk areas also tends to below. This study aimed to analyze the complete basic immunization coverage of infants in high-risk areas in Brebes Regency in 2019 by analyzing secondary data from research on infants' basic immunization coverage in high-risk areas of Brebes Regency. The research design used was cross-sectional. The population was mothers who have children aged < 2 years who lived in a high-risk area in Brebes Regency in 2019. The results were analyzed using a chi-square test. The study results showed that there were still many infants who did not get complete basic immunization, and the accuracy of basic immunization for infants was still low. Factors that affect the completeness of the complete basic immunization of infants are knowledge, perceptions, attitudes, and beliefs of the mother.

Abstract

Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabiei. In the world, the prevalence of scabies is estimated to be more than 200 million people every year. In Indonesia, scabies ranks 3 of the 12 most common skin diseases. Islamic boarding school students are at risk of contracting scabies. Personal hygiene generally gets less attention from the students. Low personal hygiene is a factor in the development of scabies. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between personal hygiene and scabies incident. This study conducted using quantitative observational study methods with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 107 Islamic boarding school students. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling. This study uses a questionnaire to determine the variables studied. Data would be analyzed using a chi-square test. The results of this study showed a significant relationship between the cleanliness of clothes (p-value= 0.001). There was no relationship between Cleanliness of skin (p-value=0,857), cleanliness of hand and nail (p-value=0,498), cleanliness of towel (p-value=0,699), cleanliness of bedding (p-value (p-value= 0,966).
