Abstract

Business Intelligence (BI) is an essential technology in an increasingly competitive landscape since it helps make decisions more accurately. To achieve an effective BI implementation, the organization must formulate the right strategy to overcome its challenges. This research aimed to develop a framework to map barriers into strategies using qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative approach is driven by interviewing BI experts to validate the barriers and strategies previously obtained. Based on the interview, there are 19 barriers and 9 strategies that could be used. The quantitative approach compiles a priority list of the most significant barriers and the most effective strategies to overcome these barriers using fuzzy AHP TOPSIS, an MCDM method to eliminate inconsistencies during ranking. The results indicate that the lack of collaboration between the IT and BI departments, the BI implementation demands to be done quickly, and low data quality are the main barriers that hinder BI's success. This research also found that business people's involvement in a BI project is the best strategy to overcome the obstacles. The chances of a successful BI implementation will increase by having good cooperation between IT and business units within the company. Doi: 10.28991/ESJ-2022-06-02-010 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

Government-Owned Property (GOP) management, including the bookkeeping of GOP transaction, is part of GOP Officer responsibility to ensure the quality of transaction data. This responsibility also applies to GOP Officer in Indonesian Agency for Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics ‘Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika’ (BMKG). GOP data as the source for the Central Government Financial Report is expected to be well-maintained. It must be presented as accurate as possible, although there are still inaccurate data presented in the latest BMKG GOP Report. This qualitative research using document study and some interview sessions aims to measure how well the Data Quality Management (DQM) maturity of GOP transaction in BMKG using Loshin’s Data Quality Maturity model. Thus, the result of maturity assessment is analyzed to recommend and implement DQM activities from the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK). The purpose is to improve GOP DQM. The research shows that the level of DQM maturity is at a repeatable level to defined level. Moreover, 52 maturity characteristics need to be followed through with DQM activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence a person's intention to use a subscription-based streaming service application using the perspective of the inertia of piracy movie application users. This study investigates the factors that affect the inertia of movie piracy application users. The theory used is a combination of the status quo bias theory and coping theory. This research uses a quantitative approach and an online survey method for data collection. Data collection resulted in 378 responses that were subsequently analyzed using the covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) technique. It was found that inertia (the level of user inertia) negatively affects intention to use (the intention to use a subscription-based streaming service application) and convenience. In addition, convenience, perceived controllability (a person's level of control over the application), and morality positively influence intention to use. Furthermore, it was also found that perceived cost and personalization do not affect the intention to use. Inertia is also positively and significantly influenced by the transition cost (effort to move). The factors that have the highest correlation values are transition cost and inertia. Doi: 10.28991/ESJ-2022-06-05-06 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

In recent years, the behavior of foreign currency exchange rates (FOREX) has attracted a lot of attention from policy makers, investors, academics and regulators because due to its rapidly changing prices. FOREX predicting based on sentiment analysis has attracted a wide variety of research in finance and natural language processing. The availability of news, social media networks, and the rapid development of natural language processing methods result in better predictive performance. However, new studies related on Rupiah (Rupiah is legal money circulating in Indonesia) sentiment and its correlation with other FOREX are still rare and interesting to study. The purpose of this study is to (1) assess the accuracy of predicting Rupiah sentiment using social sentiment analysis and (2) to investigate the correlation between Rupiah sentiment and IDR currency exchange rate. The methodological approach used for this study is based on social sentiment analysis on Twitter and Pearson correlation. The result of this study is (1) from the seven models that we compared, the Decision Tree (DT) and Random Forest (RF) algorithm models have the best accuracy to avoid misclassification based on AUC. The accuracy measured by F1-score has values of 92.13% for both DT and RF, and (2) Rupiah sentiment has a strong positive correlation with USD (P-value: 0.017, r-value: 0.421) and SAR (P-value: 0.016, r-value: 0.419) exchange rate. On the other hand, Rupiah sentiment has a low significant negative correlation with AUD (P-value: 0.051, r-value: -0.403) and EUR (P-value: 0.079, r-value: -0.479). Rupiah sentiment also has a low but positive correlation with MYR (P-value: 0.073, r-value: 0.180) and is not significant with SGD (P-value: 0.119, r-value: -0.348) although it has a positive correlation. The strong positive correlation represents that the more positive Rupiah sentiment on Twitter, the stronger IDR exchange rate against another foreign currency, and vice versa.
