Abstract

Teaching materials are essential in teaching and learning activities that help students achieve learning goals. STEM-based teaching materials can support geography learning, encouraging students to solve problems actively, creatively, and innovatively because they use various scientific perspectives. The aim of this research is to produce STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)-based digital teaching material development products in the sub-material natural disaster mitigation in Indonesia. The development research model uses the ADDIE procedure and is limited to the development stage, which focuses on making product development. The quality of teaching materials is measured by the level of validity and feasibility when used in learning. Based on the results of the assessment by experts, it proves that digital teaching materials are very valid for use in learning. The feasibility test that has been carried out on geography teachers and 32 class XII students at MAN Batu City states that the development product is very feasible to use. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that STEM-based digital teaching materials with a high level of feasibility can be used for learning Geography. Bahan ajar adalah komponen penting dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar yang membantu siswa mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Bahan ajar berbasis STEM dapat menunjang pembelajaran geografi yang mampu mendorong siswa untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dengan aktif, kreatif, dan inovatif dikarenakan menggunakan berbagai sudut pandang keilmuan. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan produk pengembangan bahan ajar digital berbasis STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematic) pada sub materi mitigasi bencana alam di Indonesia. Model penelitian pengembangan menggunakan prosedur ADDIE dan dibatasi sampai tahap development yang fokus pada pembuatan produk pengembangan. Kualitas bahan ajar diukur dari tingkat validitas dan kelayakan jika digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian oleh ahli membuktikan bahwa bahan ajar digital sangat valid untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Uji kelayakan yang telah dilakukan pada guru geografi dan 32 siswa kelas XII di MAN Kota Batu menyatakan bahwa produk pengembangan sangat layak untuk digunakan. Berdasarkan hasil kajian tersebut dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa bahan ajar digital berbasis STEM dengan tingkat kelayakan yang tinggi dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran Geografi.

Abstract

Students' critical thinking skills can be trained through problem-based learning (PBL) learning models. This study aimed to determine the effect of problem-based learning on students' critical thinking skills in geography lessons. The type of research used was a quasi-experiment with a posttest only control group design involving 2 classes based on a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is an essay with indicators of critical thinking skills. The research was conducted at SMA Mazra'atul Ulum Paciran Lamongan. The subjects of this study were XI IIS 2 as the control class and XI IIS 1 as the experimental class. The instrument used is the independent sample T-test. Based on the test results with the t-test, the sig value was obtained. 2 tailed is 0.002 less than 0.05, meaning there is a significant difference between critical thinking skills in the class using the PBL and conventional models. The results also show that the experimental class has a higher critical thinking ability than the control class. It can be concluded that PBL affects students' critical thinking skills at SMA Mazra'atul Ulum Paciran. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dapat dilatih melalui model pembelajaran problem-based learning (PBL). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari model problem-based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pelajaran geografi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain posttest only control group desain yang melibatkan 2 kelas berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes essay dengan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Mazra’atul Ulum Paciran Lamongan. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu XI IIS 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IIS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu Independent sample T-test. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dengan uji-t diperoleh nilai sig. 2 tailed sebesar 0,002 kurang dari 0,05 yang berarti, ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kelas yang menggunakan model PBL dan konvensional. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan jika kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai kemampuan berpikir kritis lebih unggul dari kelas kontrol. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa PBL berpengaruh pada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMA Mazra’atul Ulum Paciran.

Abstract

The increase in population and limited number of urban land have encouraged land use changes towards the edge of the city /peri urban area due to the increasingly congested conditions of the city. The research aims to classify peri urban saptial cluster based on the proportion of built-up and non-built land and land use of peri urban areas in Lowokwaru, Malang City in 2015–2020. Land use change analysis of the Lowokwaru peri urban area using a quantitative approach. Data processing using ArcGIS with digitization techniques on built and non-built land use in 2015 and 2020. As a result of digitization in 2015, the area of built-up land was 16.6 km² and non-built land was 6.5 km². In 2020, there was a change in the use of built-up land which increased and the shrinking of non-built land area of 0.0009 km² or by 4.9 percent. Landuse change of unbuilt land are turning into land use for settlements, industry, etc. Land use changes that occur result in changes in zones or spatial clusters of urban elves Lowokwaru. These results show that the Lowokwaru peri urban area has a spatial cluster/zone in the form of Fringe, Outer fringe, Urban shadow zone. Pertambahan jumlah penduduk dan terbatasnya jumlah lahan perkotaan mendorong terjadinya perubahan penggunaan lahan ke arah area tepi kota/peri urban dikarenakan kondisi pusat kota yang semakin padat. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengklasifikasikan klaster Wilayah peri urban berdasarkan proporsi lahan terbangun dan non-terbangun dan penggunaan lahan wilayah peri urban Lowokwaru Kota Malang tahun 2015–2020. Analisis perubahan penggunaan lahan wilayah peri urban Lowokwaru dilakukanmenggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengolahan data menggunakan Arc GIS dengan teknik digitasi pada penggunaan lahan terbangun dan non-terbangun tahun 2015 dan 2020. Hasil digitasi tahun 2015 luas lahan terbangun seluas 16,6 km² dan lahan non-terbangun seluas 6,5 km². Tahun 2020 ditemui perubahan pengggunaan lahan terbangun yang bertambah dan menyusutnya luas lahan non-terbangun seluas 0,0009 km² atau sebesar 4,9 persen. Perubahan penggunaan lahan non-terbangun beralih menjadi pemanfaatan lahan untuk permukiman, industri, pendidikan, perdagangan, dan jasa. Perubahan penggunaan lahan yang terjadi berakibat pada berubahnya zona atau klaster spasial peri urban Lowokwaru. Dari hasil tersebut didapaati wilayah peri urban Lowokwaru memiliki klaster spasial/zona berupa Fringe, Outer fringe, Urban shadow zone.

Abstract

Geographical Inquiry is a mindset with which students can identify geographical phenomena through learning models to train students to think analytically. This research was conducted to know the effect of the geographical research learning model on analytical patterns. The research conducted is included in pseudo-experimental research with two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, which is in accordance with the results of the UTS scores in the even semester. The subjects in this study were students of grade 11 Social Studies Department 1 as the control class and 11 Social Studies Department 2 as the experimental class at MA AL UMM. Data collection used by researchers is pre-test and post-test testing techniques. The resulting data can be analysed using an independent sample t-test. The results of the analysis obtained from the t-test show that the sig value (2-tailed) of the average Gain Score in the experimental class is 12 while in the control class it is 4.5 The difference in the average Gain Score between the experimental and control groups is 7.5 which means that everyone increase in variable X (geographical inquiry model), the value of variable Y (learning outcomes) will increase. So, the experimental class has a more excellent average than the control class, so Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that learning geographical inquiry has an effect on the geographical analytical thinking of Grade 11 social studies students at MA AL UMM. Geographical Inquiry merupakan pola pikir yang dengannya siswa dapat mengidentifikasi fenomena geografis melalui model pembelajaran sehingga dapat melatih siswa untuk berpikir analitis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan agar tahu akan pengaruh model pembelajaran penelitian geografi pada pola analitis. Penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk dalam penelitian eksperimen semu dengan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang sesuai dengan hasil nilai UTS pada semester genap. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas 11 Jurusan IPS 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan 11 Jurusan IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen di MA AL UMM. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah teknik pre-test dan post-test testing. Data yang dihasilkan dapat dianalisis menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil analisis yang didapatkan dari uji-t menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig (2-tailed) hasil rata-rata Gain Score pada kelas eksperimen adalah 12 sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 4,5 Selisih rata-rata Gain Score antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 7,5 yang artinya setiap kenaikan satu variabel X (model geographical inquiry) maka nilai variabel Y (hasil belajar) akan naik. Sehingga kelas eksperimen memiliki rata-rata lebih besar dari kelas kontrol, sehingga Ho ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran penelitian geografi berpengaruh terhadap pemikiran analitik geografis siswa Kelas 11 Jurusan IPS di MA AL UMM.

Abstract

Internalization of disaster risk reduction (DRR) education in the school curriculum has been applied to various levels of education in Indonesia. Given that disaster knowledge is closely related to preparedness, the relevance of both becomes something essential to study. This study aims to 1) describe the level of knowledge of high school students regarding DRR and their preparedness to face disasters, 2) explore the relationship between DRR knowledge and student preparedness to face disasters. This research is a descriptive correlative study. This research was conducted in Batu City which has a status of a multi-disaster prone area. The data collection was done by survey. The number of research samples were 240 students spread across SMAN 1 Kota Batu, SMAN 2 Kota Batu, SMAN 3 Kota Batu, and SMA Islam Kota Batu. The research data was analyzed using Spearman's nonparametric test with a significance of 0.01. The results of the study showed that the student's DRR knowledge level belonged to the category of "understanding" and the level of preparedness of the students was categorized as "ready". Furthermore, there is a positive and significant relationship between two variables studied with a correlation coefficient value of 0.711.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang bermakna wajib ditunjang  dengan sebuah bahan ajar yang berkualitas dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan guna mengembangkan bahan ajar geografi berbasis kontekstual potensi wisata budaya di Kota Malang. Model Borg and Gall ialah model penelitian yang digunakan, yang terdiri dari 10 tahapan. Akan tetapi, pada penelitian ini dilaksanakan modifikasi menjadi 8 tahapan yakni, analisis potensi masalah, perencanaan, pengembangan awal produk, validasi, revisi desain, uji coba, revisi produk, dan produk akhir. Siswa kelas XI IPS sebanyak 36 dan seorang guru mata pelajaran geografi ialah subjek uji coba pada penelitian ini. Instrumen penilaian berbentuk angket validasi untuk ahli materi, ahli bahasa, ahli media, serta angket efektifitas untuk praktisi lapangan dan siswa. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: 1) uji validasi yang dilaksanakan oleh ahli bahasa memperoleh hasil 90%, ahli media 98%, dan ahli materi 96%. 2) uji efektifitas oleh guru memperoleh nilai 87,5%, dan siswa 88,9%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar Potensi Wisata Budaya di Kota Malang yang dikembangkan valid serta efektif sehingga bisa dipakai sebagai bahan ajar geografi SMA.

Abstract

Kampung Blekok, as a one tourism destination in Situbondo Regency, has an attraction mangrove ecosystem and blekok birds. Adopt the concept of ecotourism makes this site necessary to pay attention for aspects of the natural environment, the social economy of the community, and education for tourists. This research purpose to determine the management capability by analyzing the Pressure State Response model. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey research methods. Based on the result of the analysis, it shows that the average score is 42,3% with not good. The low management capacity has as impact on the low interest of tourist returning to Kampung Blekok. Therefore it is important to optimize the availability of facilities and infrastructure, facilities, educating the local community about the importance of being environmentally conscious, as well as tourism management.

Abstract

Degradasi lingkungan merupakan isu global yang juga menjadi ancaman keberlanjutan di Indonesia. Mengetahui pengaruh Project Environmental Learning terhadap Environmental Literacy and Environmental Awareness peserta didik, serta mengevaluasi interaksi antara kedua variabel tersebut meruapakan tujuan utama riset ini. Penggunaan eksperimen semu dengan rancangan posttest only control group menjadi metode dalam riset. Terdiri dari 68 peserta didik kelas XI IPS di SMA Negeri 1 Singosari sebagai subjek penelitian, kelas eksperimen menerapkan model Project Environmental Learning terdiri dari 34 peserta didik dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model konvensional juga terdiri dari 34 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data melalui tes literasi lingkungan, angket kesadaran lingkungan, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil Mann-Whitney test model Project Environmental Learning terhadap literasi lingkungan mendapatkan hasil (Sig. 0,03 kurang dari 0,05) dan kesadaran lingkungan (Sig. 0,046 kurang dari 0,05), dengan rata-rata nilai kelas kontrol lebih rendah dibandingkan kelas eksperimen (86,2 kurang dari 89,9). Namun, hasil uji korelasi environmental literacy dan environmental awareness (Sig. 0,766 lebih dari 0,05) menunjukkan tidak adanya korelasi yang signifikan antara variabel tersebut. Terdapat indikasi bahwa tingkat literasi lingkungan yang tinggi tidak selalu diikuti oleh kesadaran lingkungan yang tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model Project Environmental Learning efektif meningkatkan literasi dan kesadaran lingkungan peserta didik, namun kedua variabel tersebut bersifat independen. Environmental degradation is a global issue that also poses a threat to sustainability in Indonesia. The primary objective of this research is to determine the impact of the Project Environmental Learning model on students' environmental literacy and environmental awareness, as well as to evaluate the interaction between these two variables. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a posttest-only control group design. The research subjects consisted of 68 eleventh-grade social science students at SMA Negeri 1 Singosari, divided into an experimental group (34 students) using the Project Environmental Learning model and a control group (34 students) employing a conventional model. Data collection methods included environmental literacy tests, environmental awareness questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney test, the Project Environmental Learning model showed significant effects on environmental literacy (Sig. 0.03 less than 0.05) and environmental awareness (Sig. 0.046 less than 0.05), with the average scores of the control group being lower than those of the experimental group (86.2 less than 89.9). However, the correlation test results for environmental literacy and environmental awareness (Sig. 0.766 more than 0.05) indicated no significant relationship between the two variables. This suggests that a high level of environmental literacy does not necessarily correspond to a high level of environmental awareness. Overall, this study concludes that the Project Environmental Learning model is effective in improving students' environmental literacy and awareness, although these two variables are independent of one another.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pantai Watukarung dengan keindahan panorama memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut menjadi wisata unggulan di Kabupaten Pacitan. Pantai Watukarung kurang dikenal dan diminati oleh masyarakat karena ombak yang cukup besar dan kurangnya informasi bagi pengunjung. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kesesuaian wisata Pantai Watukarung dengan menentukan nilai indeks kesesuaian wisata kategori rekreasi dan berenang. Metode menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Data yang digunakan primer dan sekunder, metode pengumpulan data adalah survei dan pengukuran secara langsung. Pemilihan titik lokasi pengukuran menggunakan metode purpossive sampling, terbagi tiga stasiun. Hasil penilaian Indeks Kesesuaian Wisata dari ketiga stasiun adalah S3 “Sesuai bersyarat” dengan nilai stasiun 1 54.6%, stasiun 2 58.6%, stasiun 3 sebesar 56%. Faktor yang menjadi pembatas adalah kedalaman dan biota berbahaya bulu babi. Kegiatan yang cocok dilakukan bersantai, jalan-jalan, dan bermain di sekitar bibir pantai. Abstract: Watukarung Beach has a beautiful panorama that has the potential to be further developed into a leading tourism destination in Pacitan Regency to improve the economy of the surrounding community and the region. Watukarung Beach is less well known and in demand by the community compared to other beaches in Pacitan Regency due to its large waves and lack of information for visitors. The purpose of the research was to identify the suitability index of Watukarung beach tourism to assess suitable activities carried out by visitors in the area other than surfing and activities that are not allowed in the beach area. Research objectives The assessment was carried out through measurement and observation of several physical and biological parameters. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The data used are primary and secondary data, data collection methods by survey and direct measurement. Selection of measurement location points using purposive sampling method, divided into three stations. The results of the Tourism Suitability Index assessment of the three stations are S3 “Conditionally Suitable” with a value of station 1 of 54.6%, station 2 of 58.6%, station 3 of 54.6%. The limiting factors are large waves, water depth especially in high tide conditions, and dangerous biota namely sea urchins. Activities that are suitable for Watukarung beach are relaxing, sightseeing, playing around the shoreline while remaining vigilant, and swimming.

Abstract

The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Conservation Area is a tourist attraction because of its natural and cultural wealth. Natural tourism has flourished in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Conservation, but the cultural potential has not developed optimally. Ranu Pani Village is a village within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Conservation region of cultural diversity and uniqueness, populated by the Tengger society. The study aims to identify the Ranu Pani Village people's culture and design tourism activities from such identification. The method used in this study is the ethnomethodology of Spradley analysis. Ethnomethodology is used to dig up information about people's culture through a direct approach to society. The retrieval of data relating to cultural forms and tourism in the village of Ranu Pani with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Studies have shown that Dukun Pandita is essential role in preserving the cultural community. Local cultures, such as the Karo custom and music ceremonies, can be used as regular tourist attractions by integrating the Tengger calendar system with E-information so that the tourists can know the time for the ceremony. There is also an art of Sodoran dance and folklore that can be collaborated with traditional music studios of cultural houses and Rondo Kuning temple studio performances of the music in previously unused amphitheaters.
