Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectivenes of ADI learning model to improve mastery of students’ concept based on academic ability on additive and addictive topic. This research used quasi experiment method with Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. . The population of this research was all of students in grade VIII of Junior High School in Bandarlampung. Samples was selected by purposive sampling obtained by class VIII A as experiment class and VIII B as control class. Data analysis techniques used were ancova test and t-test. The Result showed that the average value of n-Gain the mastery of students’ concept were using ADI learning model are higherthan using conventional learning not only high academic ability but also low academic ability. The conclution of this research was ADI learning model was effective to improve mastery of students’concept not only high academic ability students but also low academic ability. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran ADI dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep pada materi zat aditif dan adiktif ditinjau dari kemampuan akademik.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperiment dengan Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di Bandarlampung. Sampel ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive samplingdan diperoleh kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji ankova dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-Gain penguasaan konsep siswa menggunakan model ADI lebih tinggi daripada siswa menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional baik kemampuan akademik tinggi maupun akademik rendah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran ADI efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa baik siswa kemampuan akademik tinggi maupun siswa kemampuan akademik rendah.Kata kunci: kemampuan akademik,  model pembelajaran ADI,  penguasaan konsep

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to describe effectiveness of Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model in redox reaction in improving symbolic language skill and to describe effectiveness of NHT learning model in redox reaction material in improving concept mastery.  Population in this research was all Grade X students in State Senior High School 1 Buay Bahuga in academic year 2011/2012. Samples were classroom X2 as experiment classroom and classroom X1 as control classroom. Samples were selected using purposive sampling. This reserach used quasi experiment menthod with Non Equivalent (Prestest and Posttest) Control Group Design). The effectiveness of NHT learning model was measured based on significant n-gain differences of symbolic language skill and concept mastery between NHT learning classroom and conventional learning classroom. The results showed that the average of n-gain of symbolic language skill for experiment and control clasrooms were 0.26 and 0.18 respectively, and the average n-gain of concept mastery for experiment and control classrooms were 0.29 and 0.23 respectively.  Based on hypothesis test, classroom with NHT learning model had higher symbolic language skill and concept mastery than classroom with conventional learning. This indicated that NHT learning was effective in improving symbolic language skill and concept mastery of redox reaction.Keywords: Numbered Head Together (NHT) Learning Model, symbolic language skill and concept mastery

Abstract

This research aimed to develop assessment on additive and addictive-psychotropics material that have religious content and environmental awareness; to describe the characteristics of developing assessment; to describe the teacher and student responses of the developed assessment; and to describe the problems in developing the assessment. This research method was research and development from Sugiyono (2008).  Based on teacher responses, the developed assessment has very high content’s suitability aspect (90%), very high construction aspect (82,22%), and very high language utilizing aspect (86,67%).  Based on student responses, the developed assessment has very high language utilizing aspect (86%).  Based on that responses, so canbe concluded that the developed assessment has very good criteria.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan asesmen zat aditif dan adiktif-psikotropika bermuatan nilai ketuhanan dan kecintaan terhadap lingkungan; mendeskripsikan karakteristik asesmen yang dikembangkan; mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap asesmen yang dikembangkan; dan mendeskripsikan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam mengembangkan asesmen tersebut.  Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dari Sugiyono (2008).  Berdasarkan tanggapan guru, asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki aspek kesesuaian isi yang sangat tinggi yaitu 90%, aspek konstruksi yang sangat tinggi yaitu 82,22%, dan aspek penggunaan bahasa yang sangat tinggi yaitu 86,67%.  Berdasarkan tanggapan siswa, asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki aspek penggunaan bahasa yang sangat tinggi yaitu 86%.  Berdasarkan tanggapan tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria sangat baik.Kata kunci: asesmen, nilai ketuhanan dan cinta lingkungan,zat aditif dan adiktif-psikotropika.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the is Learning Cycle 6E model that are effective in improving the classification and communication skill.  This research was using a quasi experimental methods with Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  The sampling technique was used purposive sampling technique.  The sample in this research is students of Senior High School YP Unila Bandar Lampung and obtained XI IPA2 and XI IPA4class in even semester of school year 2012-2013 that have similar characteristics.  Effectiveness of Learning Cycle 6E model measured on the difference and the improvement of a significant n-Gain.  The results showed the average value of n-Gain classification skill for experiment class and control class are 0.65 and 0.49, and the average value of n-Gain communication skill for experiment class and control class are 0.69 and 0.59.  Based on the research results, it was concluded that the Learning Cycle 6E model is effective in improving classification dan communication skill.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model Learning Cycle 6E dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan mengkomunikasikan.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik purposive sampling.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung kelas XI IPA2 dan kelas XI IPA4 semester genap tahun ajaran 2012-2013 yang memiliki kesamaan karakteristik.  Efektivitas model Learning Cycle 6E diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan mengelompokkan untuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,65 dan 0,49; serta rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan mengkomunikasikan untuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,69 dan 0,59. Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe effectiveness of empirical inductive learning cycle model in improving of critical thinking skills of students in sub skills of analyzing arguments.  Indicators of critical thinking skills studied were identifying conclusions and seeing similarities and differences. Population was all 170 students of Grade XI State Senior High School 3 in Kotabumi. Samples were 34 students in XI Sains 2 class and 34 students in XI Sains 3 class that have equal academic abilities. This was a quasi experiment research using non equivalent control group design. Effectiveness of learning with empirical inductive learning cycle model was measured based on significant gain improvements of skill in analyzing arguments. The results showed that average value of n-Gain of skill in analyzing arguments in experiment and control classes were 0.62 and 0.42 respectively. The hypothesis result test showed that class which used empirical inductive learning cycle model had higher skill in analyzing arguments than class with conventional learning model. This indicated empirical inductive learning cycle model was effective to improve critical thinking of students in the acid base matery in state senior high school 3 in Kotabumi.Keywords: empirical inductive learning cycle, critical thinking skills of students

Abstract

The research aim to develop student worksheet based science process skills on factors affecting reaction rate topic. This research use research and development (R D) method according to Sugiyono (2008).  But in this research, the steps are only done until main product revision. This research have three steps. The 1st step is needs analysis that consist of literature study and field study. The 2nd step is planning and development that consist of planning preliminary product, develop preliminary product, validation, and preliminary product revision. The 3thstep is preliminary field test and main product revision. The results of this research are student worksheet based science process skills on factors affecting reaction rate topic have very good quality for contents suitability aspect with score 98,46%; for readability aspect according to teacher is 98,00% 87,88% according to students; for beauty aspect according to teacher is 98,46% 86,52% according to students.Key words :  student worksheet, science process skills, factors affecting reaction rate topic.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the learning model of SSCS that effective to improve the students’ ability in giving reason, giving hypotesis and making definition.   This research used quasi experiment method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design .  The Samples of this research were the second year students of MAN 1 Bandar Lampung in the even of academic year 2011-2012.  The research used two classes, XI IPA2 and X IPA3which had the same characteristic.   The effectiveness of SSCS the learning model was measured by differences of significant n-gain.  The results of this research showed that the mean value of n-gain for students’ ability in giving reason in control and experiment class were -0,04 and 0,45;  the mean value of n-gain for students’  ability in giving hypotesis in control and experiment class were -0,03 and 0,32;  and the mean value of  n-gain for students’ ability in making definition in control experiment class were -0,26 and 0,40.  Based on hypotesis test, it can be seen that the SSCS learning model is effective to improve the student’ ability in giving reason, giving hypotesis and making definition.Keywords: SSCS learning model, students’ ability in giving reason, giving hypotesis and making definition.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of Learning Cycle 3E model on Thermochemical materials in improving the skills of communicating and inference. Pre-experimental research applied the method of Static Group Comparison or Post-test Only With Nonequivalent Control Groups.  The populations in this study were all students of Science class XI YP Unila High School Bandar Lampung. The selection of the sample used purposive sampling techniques. The samples in this study were students of class XI IPA3 and XI IPA4. Effectiveness of Learning Cycle Model 3E is measured by the post-test mean difference value and a significant t-test. Post-test mean value of communicate skills both experimental class and control class are 69.90 and 64.27, meanwhile t post-test mean of inference skills class both experimental and control class are 64.00 and 59.62 . t-test results showed that Learning Cycle 3E model is effectively improving both communicating skills and inference.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model Learning Cycle 3E pada materi termokimia dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengkomunikasi-kan dan inferensi.  Penelitian menggunakan metode preexperimental dengan Static Group Comparison or Posstest Only With Nonequivalent Control Groups. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA3 dan XI IPA4.  Efektivitas model Learning Cycle 3E diukur berdasarkan perbedaan rerata nilai posttest dan uji-t yang signifikan.  Nilai rerata posttest keterampilan mengkomunikasikan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 69,90 dan 64,27; dan nilai rerata posttest keterampilan inferensi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 64,00 dan 59,62.  Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa model Learning Cycle 3E efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengkomunikasikan dan inferensi.Kata kunci: keterampilan inferensi, keterampilan mengkomunikasikan, model learning cycle 3E

Abstract

This study aims to describe the POGIL model in improving students' critical thinking skills in electrolyte and non electrolyte solution topic. The population of this research was all tenth grade of science students and the sample used in this study was class X IPA 2 as the control class and X IPA 4 as the experimental class obtained through purposive sampling technique. The method is quasi experiment with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data analysis used independent sample t-test that is to used Mann-Whitney U. The results showed that the average n-gain of the critical thinking skills of the experimental class students was higher than the average n-gain of critical thinking skills of the control class students. The concluded in this research POGIL model was effective to improve critical thingking skills in electrolyte and non electrolyte Solution topic.Keywords : critical thinking skills, electrolyte and non electrolyte solution, POGIL model. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk men­deskripsikan efektivitas model POGIL dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas X IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang di­peroleh melalui teknik purposive sampling. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi ekspe­rimen dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Analisis data menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata yaitu menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada rata-rata n-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model POGIL efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.Kata kunci: keterampilan berpikir kritis, larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit, model POGIL.

Abstract

This research described the effectiveness of hypnoteaching method to increase student’s skills on creative thinking and notion in solubility and solubility products matter.  Subject of this research was 32 students of XI IPA2 SMAN 13 Bandarlampung in academic years 2011-2012.  This research used the one shot chase study. Effectiveness of hypnoteaching learning was measured based on the increasing affective value before and after aplicated it on difined time. The results showed that it could increased both skills.  The creative thinking increased for the first to fifth observation was 21%, 30%, 34%, 44%, and 48%, changed from low to sufficient level.  It’s mean that just a small amount to limit a half of students mastered its.  The other one, notion skill increased for the first to fifth meeting was 27%, 45%, 61%, 70% and 65%, changed from low to good level. It’s mean that just a small amount to big amount of students mastered its.Keywords: hypnoteaching, creative thinking skill, notion skill, pre-experiment, one-shot chase study
