Abstract

 Chemistry’s phenomena can explained by multiple representation, they are macroscopis, symbolis, and submicroscopis dimention. Based on the fact, submicroscopis dimention is often diserted, especially when teach acid-base material because it is difficult to learn.  According to this case, teachers need the media for delivering material of chemistry. The research aim is resulting animation media of Arrhenius acid-base material based on multiple representation.This research used research and development (R D) method by Gall, Gall and Borg in Putra (2012). But on this research, step only arrive to step of main product revision. Research and development on this research have three steps. They are needs analysis step, consist of literature study and field study, planning and developing product step, consist of planning product, developing product,validation, and revision product, and the last is field test step, whose test of the product then revision the product based on result of test.Result of this research was animation media of Arrhenius acid-base material based on multiple representation which have characteristics: 1) displaying science material of Arrhenius acid-base which be explained by multiple representation, 2) it has parts consist of opening, instructional, competence standard, basic competence, indicators of product cognitive, subject of acid-base solution, subject of indicators acid-base, subject of Arrhenius acid-base, subject of pH, and profile button, 3) the contents suitability aspect has high score that is 80% according to validator judgement and 80% according to teacher judgement, and also have the highest level in isteresting aspect that is 83.45% according students judgement.Key words :  animation media, multiple representation, Arrhenius acid-base

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of the learning model of guided inquiry to improve prediction and to formulate hypotheses skills in acid-base concept. This research uses a pre-experimental method with One Group Pretest Posttest Design.  Subjects in this study were students of class XI IPA1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar which amounts to 29 students. The data of this study is the prediction and to formulate hypotheses skills. The results showed the average value of n-Gain of prediction skills and formulate hypotheses 0,49 and 0.56 (medium category).  Based on the results of the data analysis, showed that the guided inquiry learning model is effective in improving the prediction skills and to formulate hypotheses of class XI IPA1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar LampungPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan keterampilan prediksi dan merumuskan hipotesis pada materi asam-basa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan One Group Pretest Postest Design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandarlampung yang berjumlah 29 siswa. Data penelitian ini adalah keterampilan prediksi dan merumuskan hipotesis.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata nilai n-Gain keterampilan prediksi dan keterampilan merumuskan hipotesis yaitu 0,49 dan 0,56 (kategori sedang).  Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tersebut, menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan prediksi dan merumuskan hipotesis siswa kelas XI IPA1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar LampungKata kunci:  keterampilan prediksi, merumuskan hipotesis, pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing.

Abstract

This research is using for describing classification and inference skills of acid-base material through problem solving model application for student cognitive group in high, medium, and low categories .The subject is 49 students of XI science 4 at 2012/2013 school years in MAN 1 Bandar Lampung. The method for this research is pre-experiment with one shot case study design and descriptive analysis for data analysis. This research will show: (1) classification skill. All student in high category have excellent skill, almost all student have excellent skill and few of them have good skill in medium and low category. (2) inference skill. For high category, almost all of student have excellent skill and few of them have good skill. for medium category, few student have intermediate skill and for low category few student have excellent skill, a half more have good and intermediate skill and for other few student have poor skill. High category is better in classification and inference skills than medium and low category.Kata Kunci : problem solving, klasifikasi, inferensi, kelompok tinggi, kelompok sedang, kelompok rendah

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving on acid-base to improve HOTS based on academic ability.  The method of this research was quasi experimental with the 2x2 factorial design.  The population of this research were all students of XI science at SMAN in Bandarlampung.  The samples were XI science 3 as experiment class and XI science 2 as control class. The t test and two ways ANOVA were used as data analysis.  The result showed that was no interaction between learning by problem solving model with academic ability to higher order thinking skills, problem solving model effective on improving higher order thinking skills, and higher other thinking skills by problem solving model to student who has a higher academic ability with n-gain high category more than medium and low students academic ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model problem solving materi asam basa dalam meningkatkan HOTS  ditinjau dari kemampuan akademik.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN di Bandarlampung.  Sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol.  Analisis data menggunakan uji-t dan ANOVA dua jalur.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara model problem solving dengan kemampuan akademik terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa, model problem solving efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dalam mengguna­kan model problem solving pada siswa berkemampuan aka­de­mik tinggi dengan kategori n-gain tinggi lebih banyak daripada siswa berke­mam­­puan akademik sedang dan rendah. Kata Kunci: kemampuan akademik,  HOTS, asam-basa, model problem solving.

Abstract

Chemistry is one of knowledges that learn abstract phenomena. Generally, chemical learning at this momen only in makroscopic and symbolic dimension, whereas submicroscopic often deserted. The research aim to develop module of multiple representation based on the chemical reaction rate material.Method used on this research is research and development (R D) according to Sugiyono (2008). But on this research, step only arrive to step of main product revision. Research and development on this research have three steps. There are step 1st) needs analysis that consist of literature study and field study, step 2nd ) planning and development that consist of planning preliminary product, develop preliminary product,validation, and preliminary product revision, step 3th) preliminary field test, and main product revision.            Results of this research is development module of reaction rate based on multiple representations  which have characteristic: 1) module refers to the SK and KD, 2) material packaged in units of learning activities, modules arranged in a systematic and attractive, giving rise to interest in reading to students, 3) the material presented in the modules developed chemical, described by multiple representations, 4) accompanied by examples and illustrations that support the material, 5) the language used is simple and communicative, 6) have level of contents suitability is very high that is 91,67 % and have level of aspects graph 94,00 % according to teacher, also have high level of legibilityt is very high that is 90,98% according students. Key words :  module, multiple representation, the chemical reaction rate material

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of the learning cycle model Predict-observe-explain (POE) on the thermochemical material in improving prediction skill and mastery of concepts. The study subjects were all students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung   academic year 2012-1013. This study usesthe pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Effectiveness of the learning cycle modelis measured by the gain ternormalisasi. The results showed that the average value of predicted n-gain skills and mastery of conceptsby 0.6 by 0.7. It can be concluded that the POE learning thermochemical material effective in improving skills and mastery of the concept of predicting the criteria are.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model siklus belajar Predict-observe-explain (POE) pada materi termokimia dalam mening­katkan keterampilan prediksi dan penguasaan konsep.  Subyek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa-siswi kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre-experimental dengan one-grouppretest-posttest design.  Efektivitas model siklus belajar POEdiukur berdasarkan nilai gain ternormalisasinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai n-gain keterampilan memprediksi sebesar 0,6dan penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,7.Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran POE pada materi termokimia efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memprediksi dan penguasaan konsep dengan kriteria sedang. Kata kunci: keterampilan siswa dalam memprediksi, pembelajaran POE, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

The research was conductedtodescribethe effectiveness ofguided inquirylearning on the colloidal subject in improving thefluentthinking skill which was an indicator ofcreative thinkingskill.  The population of this research were all students of XI IPASMAN 7 Bandar Lampung at academic year of 2012-2013which amount to 200 students and the sample of this research were XI IPA2 and XI IPA3 at even semester of 2012-2013 academic year.  Sampling was done bypurposivesamplingtechnique.  This research used quasi-experimental methodwith NonEquivalentControlGroupDesign.  Based onhypothesis testing, concludedthatguided inquirylearning was effective inimprovingof fluent thinking skill.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi koloid dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir lancar yang merupakan salah satu indikator keterampilan berpikir kreatif.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa XI IPA SMAN7 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013 yang berjumlah 200 siswa dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3 semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir lancar.Kata kunci :inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilan berpikir lancar, koloid

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to increase student’s fluency thinking skills on chemical equilibrium subject matter.  The method of the research was quasi-experimental with  Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  The population of this research was all students in XI science class of MA Negeri 1 Metro whose sit in odd semester of academic year 2013-2014.  The sample were taken by purposive sampling technique then obtained XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3 class as sample of the research.  The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control and experiment class.The result of research showed that the average n-Gain score for experiment class was  0,32 and the average n-Gain score for control class was 0,21.  Proving the hypothesis showed that discovery learning model is effective to increase student’s fluency thinking skills on chemical equilibrium subject matter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendiskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir lancar siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen.  Populasi dalam peneliian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA MA Negeri 1 Metro semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014.  Sampel diambil dengan tehnik purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3 sebagai sampel penelitian.  Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukan berdasarkan perbedaan nilai n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Abstract

This research aimed to develop students worksheet of additive and addictive-psychotropic material that have religious content and environtmental awareness in order to create media of learning which can train and build religious content and environtmental awareness. This research used research and development method from Sugiyono (2008). In the other hand, this students worksheet had five steps suitable with scientific approach. They were gazing, asking, trying, reasoning, and networking. The results showed that teacher response of the developed student worksheets in the content’s suitability aspect was 86,67% the readable aspect was 82,32% and the attraction aspect was 80,00%. On the other hand, the results showed that students response the developed student worksheets in the readable aspect was 88,59% and the attraction aspect was 89,08%. Based on result, it can be concluded that student worksheets has very high quality which were attractive, appropriate with material, and readable.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKS zat aditif dan adiktif-psikotropika bermuatan nilai ketuhanan dan kecintaan terhadap lingkungan sehingga menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang mampu melatih dan menumbuhkan nilai ketuhanan serta menyadari akan pentingnya melestarikan lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan menurut Sugiyono (2008). Selain itu, LKS ini memiliki tahapan yang disesuaikan dengan pendekatan ilmiah (scientific approach). Terdapat lima tahapan dalam pendekatan ilmiah yakni mengamati, menanya, mencoba, menalar, dan membentuk jejaring. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tanggapan guru terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan pada aspek kesesuain isi sebesar 86,67%, keterbacaan sebesar 82,32%, dan kemenarikan sebesar 80,00%. Diperoleh pula rata-rata skor jawaban siswa dalam persen untuk aspek keterbacaan sebesar 88,59% dan kemenarikan sebesar 89,08%. Berdasarkan tanggapan tersebut dapat disimpulkan LKS yang dikembangkan memiliki kualitas sangat tinggi yaitu telah menarik, sesuai dengan materi, dan terbaca dengan jelas.Kata kunci: lembar kerja siswa, muatan nilai ketuhanan dan kecintaan terhadap lingkungan, zat aditif dan adiktif-psikotropika.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to improve the elaboration skills in chemical equilibrium subject matter. The method of the research was quasi experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research was students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Purbolinggo semester of academic year 2013-2014. Sampling was done by purposive sampling and obtained class XI IPA 2 as experimental class and XI IPA 4 as control class. The effectiveness of scientific approach in the learning was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between experiment and control class. The results showed that the average n-gain of elaboration skills of control class was 0,28 and 0,55 for experiment class. The result of hypothesis testing showed that scientific approach was effective to improve the elaboration skills in the learning of chemical equilibrium.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan scientific dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi pada pembelajaran kesetimbangan kimia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Purbolinggo semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-gain keterampilan elaborasi untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing sebesar 0,28 dan 0,55.  Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan scientific efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi pada pembelajaran kesetimbangan kimia.Kata kunci: kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan elaborasi, pendekatan scientific.
