Abstract

Children of growing age are susceptible to various diseases because their immune systems are still developing. In many rural areas in Indonesia, including Colo Village, Mount Muria, people still use traditional medicine to treat diseases in children. This study documents the knowledge and conservation efforts of the Colo Village community regarding medicinal plants used to treat children's diseases. Data were collected qualitatively through semi-structured interviews with forty residents from four hamlets. The findings showed that the community used fifty-six plant species to treat various children's diseases. The results showed that the Colo Village community used 56 plant species to treat diseases in children, such as the Zingiberaceae family, such as turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.), black ginger (Curcuma aeruginoasa Robx), ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.), and others. Diseases that can be treated are: cough, fever, worms, colds, mumps, diarrhea, mouth ulcers, loss of appetite, mouth ulcers, convulsions, and wounds. Plant organs utilized include leaves (45%), rhizomes (18%), fruits (14%), tubers (9%), seeds (7%), stems (3%), and flowers (4%). Drug processing is done by pounding (56%), boiling (11%), grating (24%), slicing (7%), and brewing (2%). Most plants are obtained through cultivation (55%), followed by obtaining from nature (29%) and purchasing at the market (16%). The Colo Village community preserves medicinal plants by cultivating them in their yards and gardens and utilizing other traditional methods. Strengthening ethnobotanical knowledge, especially among the younger generation, is key to maintaining local wisdom and biodiversity in this village.

The results showed that the people of Trusmi Kulon Village have knowledge about the use of medicinal plants that have been passed down from generation to generation. Overall, 34 medicinal plants were found that are believed to be efficacious, but specifically there are 9 medicinal plants used by the community in overcoming gastric diseases. Plant parts used in making medicinal herbs include leaves, flowers, stems, seeds, and rhizomes. The process of processing plants into medicine varies, ranging from boiled, grated, squeezed, burned, pounded, dried and then brewed, rubbed, or eaten directly. Each herb has a different processing method, some are single, some need to be mixed with other ingredients. This finding shows that traditional medicine is still an important part of society as an alternative treatment that is trusted for generations.

The database from Google Scholar was systematically analyzed to search for relevant climate change education development studies. There are seven articles that describe the integration of climate change education abroad. The research results show that there are significant variations in approaches to climate change education, ranging from the integration of climate change material into the curriculum to the development of special programs that focus on adaptation and mitigation. Abstract

Social studies is a subject that consists of various social sciences such as history, sociology, geography, etc., which makes the material quite dense. Social studies learning, which consists of various disciplines, makes some of the learning materials quite dense. Learning media can be an alternative to overcome the obstacles in delivering dense material efficiently. This study aims to analyze the use of podcasts as a medium for social studies learning and to analyze the opportunities for developing podcasts at Ibu Kartini Junior High School in Semarang. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach through literature study, observation, and in-depth interviews. This research was analyzed using the cognitive theory of multimedia learning (Richard E. Mayer). This study found, based on a literature review, that podcasts are effective and efficient when used as a learning medium for social studies. Podcasts have the advantages of ease of access, transmission, and development of themes or materials that are relevant to the subject matter, interests, and characteristics of students. The social studies learning media used by teachers still have weaknesses, so they need to utilize or develop media that facilitate students in building initial understanding and reviewing dense social studies material flexibly. Teachers have the interest and motivation to utilize or develop podcast-based social studies learning media that are the original work of teachers and students who support the plan.
