Abstract

The community service program to strengthen the understanding and internalization of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) values for Elementary Madrasah (MI) teachers in Semarang City was implemented through an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. This activity aims to increase the capacity of teachers in understanding and integrating Aswaja values in learning and madrasah culture. The program implementation began with a needs analysis through interviews with teachers, madrasah principals, and the coordinator of the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Working Group (KKGMI). The activity stages included training, workshops on developing teaching materials, mentoring, and the preparation of Aswaja-based teaching modules. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding of Aswaja values (tawasuth, tawazun, tasamuh, and i'tidal) as demonstrated through pretest and posttest results. Teachers were also able to design teaching modules that include the values of tawasuth, tawazun, tasamuh, and i'tidal contextually. Furthermore, ongoing discussion initiatives have been established in several madrasas as a commitment to internalizing Aswaja values. However, implementation still faces challenges, such as time constraints.

Abstract

This service activity was motivated by the finding that most teachers did not understand the concept of deep learning, so the teaching modules used were still conventional, focused on text delivery, and minimally used interactive digital elements. This condition has an impact on the lack of optimal learning activities that should encourage high-level thinking skills. This service aims to assist teachers in developing deep learning-based teaching modules that are more meaningful and relevant to the Independent Curriculum. The method used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) through the active involvement of teachers in each stage of activities. The results of the service showed a significant 79 percent increase among the 108 teachers who participated in the service activities. The improvement is evident in the teacher's understanding of deep learning and their ability to develop teaching modules based on this concept.

Abstract

This meta-analysis examines the effectiveness of multi-contextual approaches in mathematics learning and explores moderator variables that influence their impact. A total of 27 effect sizes from 14 empirical studies (2015–2023) involving 2,501 students were analyzed using a random effects model via R Studio. Studies were sourced from major academic databases, including ERIC, Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed. The analysis yielded an overall effect size of 0.65 (p < 0.0001), indicating a substantial impact on students’ mathematical abilities. Moderator analysis revealed that educational level, instructional model combinations, and geographic region significantly influenced effectiveness, while sample size did not. Notably, integrating mathematics with technology and Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) produced the highest effect sizes. These findings support multi-contextual strategies to enhance mathematics learning outcomes and offer valuable insights for educators, curriculum developers, and researchers. The study also highlights the need for future research across diverse educational settings to refine and contextualize effective practices. The study encourages educators to adopt culturally and technologically relevant teaching practices. It also calls for policy support in scaling contextual learning models and investing in teacher training across educational settings.

Abstract

Academic procrastination remains prevalent in higher education, and digitally saturated learning environments may amplify students’ task delays. This study aims to test an integrative structural model linking self-regulation and digital disturbance to academic procrastination and to examine whether the measurement model operates equivalently across gender. Using a quantitative ex post facto design, data were collected from 216 Indonesian undergraduate students via validated 5-point Likert instruments measuring self-regulation, digital disturbance, and academic procrastination. Structural Equation Modeling with maximum likelihood estimation was conducted, followed by multi-group confirmatory factor analysis to assess gender measurement invariance. Results showed that self-regulation negatively predicted academic procrastination (β = −0.290, p < .001), while digital disturbance positively predicted academic procrastination (β = 0.544, p < .001); self-regulation was also negatively associated with digital disturbance (β = −0.268, p = .002). The model explained 46.5% of the variance in academic procrastination (R² = 0.465). Measurement invariance testing supported equivalence up to the scalar level across gender, enabling unbiased cross-gender interpretation of the constructs. The novelty of this study lies in combining a digitally relevant predictor (digital disturbance) with gender-invariant measurement validation within a single SEM framework in an Indonesian undergraduate context. Practically, the findings imply that universities should strengthen students’ self-regulated learning while managing digital interruptions through attention-management training and instructional policies to reduce procrastination.

Abstract

This study explores cyber pedagogy potential under Islamic education management in vocational school. This study intends to investigate how to support teachers' professional development and mindset enhancement; the implemention; and the way in overcoming obstacles of cyber pedagogy. This research adopts a qualitative field research design with a phenomenological approach. Meanwhile, this study was conducted at Muhammadiyah Kajen Vocational School. This research’s primary data collection methods were observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews, involving six key informants, including stakeholders and teaching staff. The findings reveal that All aspects of educational systems, such as technology proficiency, mindset, and learning design, should be supported by this curriculum. Meanwhile, four steps can be taken to implement cyber-based leaning. The first strategy involves mapping knowledge and skills to needs. Second, the school needs to evaluate students and keep an eye on their performance. Third on the list is developing training based on needs analysis, which is followed by continuous programme assessment and monitoring. In the meantime, this programme adds to certain issues. SMK Muhammadiyah Kajen is noteworthy for its ability to cultivate a digital mindset through the integration of human resources into a digital setting, resulting in a cutting edge, inventive, and contemporary learning environment.

Abstract

AbstractEffective mathematics learning not only teaches concepts, but also encourages students to connect the various concepts in real life. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) using puzzle media in improving students' mathematical connection skills in elementary school. To contribute to this problem we used two classes to test how the effect of PBL using puzzle media helps students to connect their ability to understand comparison material in grade V elementary school through quasi-experimental quantitative research with posttest-only with nonequivalent groups design. The sample in the study amounted to 54 students who were divided into a control class and an experimental class. The statistical analysis of the independent t-test results indicates a significant difference in the mathematical connection skills between students in the control and experimental classes. . The implication of this study is that the use of puzzle-assisted PBL is effective in improving students' mathematical connection skills by helping them connect mathematical concepts more practically and contextually. Keywords: Effectiveness, PBL, puzzle media, mathematical connection.
