Abstract

Abstract.Ethnomathematics is a study in applied science which has a matter of interest in numbers which the operation contains of a truth and a certain rule. The application has been used in the life of cultural groups or social communities. This research aims to describe the activity of Ethnomathematic peasants with paddy as the commodity in KeranjinganMaduranese, in Sumbersari, Jember Regency. The research uses qualitative study which employs ethnographic approach. The researcher collects the field data by interviewing and observing, using triangulation technique –a collecting data technique from the same source with different technique. The subjects of this research are 6 peasants. The result shows that there is Mathematic activity within farming of KeranjinganMaduranese, in Sumbersari, Jember Regency. The research result obtains tools for organizing the seed in order which are called bellak and kencah. The Mathematic activities which have been observed are to count the amount of employees, seeds, and fertilizers based on the land and work time. The activities apply Mathematic proportion law. Abstract

Soybean is one of the main food commodities after rice and corn. Tempe is a traditional food made from soybeans. Tempe is widely produced by small and medium industries. This study aims to determine the maximum benefits obtained in the District of Banjar, Banjar City, West Java Province in producing tempe. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. By using the probably sampling method, take a random sample. Determination of the sample is taken in 3 tempe productions with different tempe production income. By determining the decision variables, objective functions, and constraint functions by linear programming methods. In Tempe production in the Banjar District, Banjar City, West Java, the maximum profit was Rp. 29.257.080 and the maximum income was Rp. 28.862.790. The maximum profit and income are obtained from a large workforce so that it can produce a lot of tempe production and the cost of depreciation of the tool is small. The more tempe production, the more revenue obtained.

Abstract

Abstract.This research aims to describe mathematics representation ability of students’ with impulsive and reflective cognitive style in solving open-ended problem. Instruments which were used are MFFT, open-ended question, and interview. MFFT test used to categorize reflective-impulsive cognitive style. From MFFT test result obtained 2 reflective students and 2 impulsive students who then tested with open-ended problem and interview in order to knowing subjects’ mathematics representation ability in solving open-ended problem. Based on analysis and discussion can be concluded that students with reflective style fulfilled all of the mathematis representation indicators which are visual representation, expression or mathematics equation and words or written text. Students with impulsive cognitive style only fulfilled some of the mathematics representation indicators which are expression or mathematics equations and words or written text. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between study habits and mathematics learning outcomes, the correlation between learning motivation and mathematics learning outcomes, and the correlation between learning habits and motivation to learn mathematics outcomes during online learning. The total population is 185 students and the sample size is 123 students with the sampling technique using the Slovin formula approach. Hypothesis testing using multiple regression analysis techniques, Pearson Correlation test, F test, and a coefficient of determination of 5%. Learning habits and motivation are measured by a questionnaire that has been declared valid by the validator and has been tested for validity and reliability on 60 respondents outside the research subject. Data collection to measure learning habits and motivation is done by distributing questionnaires, while for student achievement it is obtained from documentation of math scores. The results showed that: there was a positive and significant correlation between study habits and students' mathematics learning outcomes. The correlation between the two is moderately correlated; there is a positive and significant correlation between learning motivation and student outcomes in mathematics. The correlation between the two is strongly correlated; there is a positive and significant correlation between study habits and learning motivation with students' mathematics learning outcomes. The correlation between the two is strongly correlated. The contribution of study habits and learning motivation simultaneously to mathematics learning outcomes is 30.7%, while 69.3% is influenced by other factors not examined by the researchers in this study.

Abstract

The process of combinatorial thinking is one type of thought process that learners must possess. The combinatorical thinking process provides systematic steps in problem solving. This study aims to determine the process of combining student thinking in solving the sequence and series problem. This research is descriptive research with qualitative research. The method used in this research is test and interview. The subject of this study consisted of four students from one classes. Four students represent each level in the combinatorial thinking process. The indicator of the combinatorial thinking process used Students are able to express the concepts of sequence and series, Students are able to explain what is known in the sequence and sequence. Students are able to change the sequence and series into the mathematical sentence. Students are able to write down what is asked in the matter of the line and series, Students are able to solve the problem of sequence and series until the solution or answer, Students are able to answer about the sequence of sequence and series using the concept of sequence and series, Students are able to describe the reason or cause of the answer. Level one students tend to be able to write down what is known and asked questions correctly, second-level students tend to be able to change the known and asked questions at level one with mathematical sentences. Students with level three tend to be able to do the matter with the calculations and concepts correctly, and Students with level four tend to be able to describe and explain the conclusions of the workmanship Keywords: thinking process, combinatorial thinking, sequence and series.

Abstract

Abstract. The rainbow connection of the graph of G = (V, E) if for each pair of points u and v in G there is a path with points u and v as the end points on each side obtaining different colors, the path is called the rainbow path. The rainbow-connected number graph G is the smallest positive integer such that G has a rainbow connection staining denoted rc(G). While the graph is said to be a rainbow 2-connected staining on G if for each pair of points u and v on the sides there are 2 different paths, with u and v being the end points of each side obtaining different colors and 2 passages can not intersect each other, denoted rc2 (G). Let G be the graph connected with so that , with d is degrees. Let G be a rainbow so that where κ is the number of paths of rainbow connecting every two distinct points in G. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an influence between Lesson Study Learning Community (LSLC) collaborative learning on student learning outcomes on opportunity topics in SMP Negeri 8 Jember.This research is an experimental study, using the form of True Experiment Design with Randomized Pre-test and Post-test Control Group Design research designs. The study population was all eighth grade students. The 3 class samples from 7 classes are homogeneous, the sample is divided into experimental class 1, experimental class 2, and control class. Data collection is done by documentation, tests and observations. Based on the results of F test data analysis on the Post-test value obtained Ftabel <Fhitung is 3.08 <11,673, then H0 is rejected. The results of the Post Hoc test showed that the experimental class 1 had a significant difference compared to the experimental class 2 and the control class. In the experimental class 1 students discussed to solve the problem, the interaction between students in the experimental class 1 happened well compared to the experimental class 2 and the control class, so that collaboration and student learning outcomes increased. Then it can be concluded that collaborative learning based on Lesson Study Learning Community (LSLC) influences student learning outcomes. Student learning outcomes in the experimental class 1 increased by 6.67%, this is higher than the experimental class 2 of 3.19 and the control class of 3.56. Abstract

Abstract. Education is one of the factors to the nation's progress. Education is developed through oriented scientific approach. It is acapted in increasing the students thinking ability. Moreover, scientific approach is an approach that trains the students to resolve contextual problems. Therefore, the students ability in resolving the problems can make them in higher order thinking. Especially in implementation of Curriculum 2013 the Student Worksheet (LKS) can cultivate their ability of high order thinking. The purpose of this research is to describe the process and result Development of LKS oriented to scientific approach to improve the higher order thinking ability. The research her use Plomp mode 5 phases, that is preliminary investigation, design, realization, test, evaluation, revision and implementation. The quality achievement criteria of the LKS are validity, practicality and effectiveness. The results of validity data in LKS showed that 3,8 are in a good category, the result of practicality data in LKS showed that the teacher activity during the teaching and learning show is 88,46% in the first meeting, and 92,31% in the second meeting.. The result of effectiveness data in LKS is scored by 1) Student’s activity showed 79% in the first meeting, and 83, 4% in the second meeting; 2) student’s learning outcomes showed 90%; and 3) the result of the student's positive response showed 79% to 86%. Therefore, LKS can be said to be valid, practical and effective. The LKS products are oriented scientific approach with 5M stages and meet higher order thinking level. Abstract

Based on the PISA results, the average Indonesian mathematical literacy score is 375. The average score is still below the average international math literacy score of 500. The purpose of this research is to describe students’ mathematics literacy ability based on mathematical ability in resolving the problem of PISA change and relationship content. Change and Relationship content is closely related to function and algebra. Determination of the level of student literacy skills seen from the fulfillment of level 1 indicators to level 6. The subject of this research were 33 students of X MIPA 7 grouped based on mathematical ability students with low, moderate and high. The results showed that maximal low-ability math students reached level 2. For students with moderate mathematical abilities the maximum was able to reach level 4 and maximal high-ability math students reached level 4. Abstract

Abstract. Critical thinking ability is a Students’ thinking ability in solving questions based on some components of Paul’s and Elder’s critical thinking with indicators used in this research is reasoning element (information, concept, idea, conclusion, and point of view) and reasoning intellectual standard (clear, appropriate, careful, relevant, deep, logical, and wide). The purpose of this research is to describe students critical thinking ability in solving arithmetic sequence and series questions in SMAN 5 Jember. The subject of this research was taken from 29 students of X MIPA 4 were categorized into 3 groups which are high, medium, and low ability based on their mathematic scores in the first semester. Based on the result of the critical thinking ability test and the interview, two subjects which were taken from low ability students were categorized as TKBK 0 (not critical). Three subject which were taken from medium ability students, one subject was categorized as TKBK 1 (less critical) and two subjects were categorized TKBK 2 (critical enough). One subject which was taken from high ability students was categorized as TKBK 3 (critical). From the result of the research, the subject is only able to reach critical level (TKBK 3) and 5 of the other subjects are still in the low critical thinking level which are TKBK 2, TKBK 1 and TKBK 0.
