Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan media pembelajaran Pop-up Snakes and Ladders pada materi Archaebacteria dan Eubacteria untuk kelas X SMA/MA di daerah perbatasan berdasarkan ahli materi, ahli media, ahli praktisi dan respon siswa. Penelitian  yang  digunakan  adalah  penelitian  pengembangan  atau Research and Development (RD) yang mengacu pada model 4-D (four D)  yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, dkk. 1974. Model ini meliputi tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop) dan penyebaran (disseminate). Namun dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengembangkan sampai tahap D yang ketiga, yaitu tahap develop dikarenakan keterbatasan waktu dan biaya.Hasil analisis validasi ahli materi diperoleh presentase sebesar 93,25% dengan kategori sangat layak. Analisis ahli media diperoleh presentase sebesar 83% dengan kategori sangat layak. Sedangkan ahli praktisi diperoleh presentase sebesar 88% dengan kategori sangat layak. Dari hasil analisis data secara keseluruhan, maka dapat disimpulkan media yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi standar kelayakan media dengan tingkat kelayakan yaitu sangat layak sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

Hasil belajar merupakan salah satu hal penting dari proses pembelajaran, sehingga untuk mencapai hasil belajar yang baik diperlukan kemampuan kognitif yang baik pula. Hal ini memberikan tantangan kepada pendidik untuk berinovasi dalam menentukan model/metode pembelajaran dan pemanfaatan media pembelajaran yang sesuai sehingga dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif peserta didik. Hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik perlu dievaluasi sehingga pada proses pembelajaran berikutnya dapat dikembangkan model/metode pembelajaran serta penggunaan media yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Biologi di Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes kognitif. Data nilai mahasiswa diperoleh dari hasil evaluasi materi pada mata kuliah Genetika Dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki hasil belajar kognitif “sangat baik” sebesar 16,67%, “baik” sebesar 50%, dan “cukup” sebesar 33,33%.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat cara membuat briket yang ramah lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan limbah kulit dan kepala udang sebagai bahan campuran. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di wilayah Tanjung Pasir RT 17. Kecamatan Tarakan Timur, Kota Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara. Jumlah peserta dalam kegiatan ini sebanyak 20 orang. Metode pelatihan dilakukan dengan teknik presentasi dan praktik secara langsung. Presentasi dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan cara pembuatan briket ke masyarakat. Teknik praktik secara langsung dilakukan untuk memberikan contoh secara langsung bagaimana cara membuat briket yang ramah lingkungan. Pelatih juga melakukan pengukuran terkait 4 indikator yaitu: Pengetahuan tentang briket, Pengetahuan tentang bahaya penggunaan arang aktif, Pemahaman cara pembuatan briket, pemilihan bahan baku alternatif, dan Kesediaan mengganti arang aktif dengan briket. Berdasarkan indikator tersebut terdapat peningkatan pemhaman masayarakat pada masing-masing indikator yaitu: 30%,35%, 50%, 60% dan 15%. Peningkatan paling kecil terdapat paada indikator Kesediaan mengganti arang aktif dengan briket hal ini disebabkan karena peserta merasa pembuatan briket jauh lebih ribet dibandingkan dengan pembuatan arang aktif.

Abstract

Sampah plastik semakin meningkat, hal tersebut dikarenakan maraknya penggunaan kemasan plastik untuk makanan. Di kantin sekolah, plastik telah mendominasi keberadaan sampah. Sampah plastik harus diolah menjadi benda yang lebih bermanfaat, agar mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan. Ecobrick merupakan salah satu dari alternatif solusi pengolahan sampah plastik. Dalam pembuatan ecobrick membutuhkan alat dan bahan yang sederhana. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa mengenai dampak penggunaan plastik secara berlebihan, upaya meminimalisir plastik, dan ecobrick. Kegiatan pengabdian ini terdiri dari sosialisasi dan pendampingan pembuatan ecobrick. Pengetahuan siswa mengenai pengolahan sampah plastik melalui ecobrick yaitu sangat baik. Selain memiliki pengetahuan yang sangat baik, siswa juga telah memiliki keterampilan dalam membuat ecobrick dan merakitnya menjadi barang yang lebih bermanfaat.

Abstract

Collaboration skills, creativity and cognitive learning outcomes are the main things that are achieved in learning. Collaboration skills are the ability to work together productively with mutual respect and responsibility.. Creativity is also very much needed to survive in the era of globalization. Cognitive learning outcomes are a crucial basis for developing higher levels. This research aims to provide an overview of collaboration skills, student creativity, and cognitive learning outcomes in project learning. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The instruments used were collaboration skills observation sheets, creativity description tests, and cognitive learning outcomes description tests. Data were analyzed using mean values. The research results show that the highest aspect of student collaboration skills is the aspect of productive work and responsibility in the very good category. Meanwhile, the lowest is in the compromise aspect. Student creativity is highest in the aspects of curiosity, fluency in thinking, elaboration in the very good category. Meanwhile, the lowest was in the divergent thinking aspect. The highest cognitive learning outcomes are in the application domain, while the lowest are in the evaluating aspect. Therefore, it can be recommended that project-based learning can empower collaboration skills, creativity, and improve cognitive learning outcomes. Abstrak. Keterampilan kolaborasi, kreativitas, dan hasil belajar kognitif merupakan hal utama yang menjadi capaian dalam pembelajaran. Keterampilan kolaborasi akan membantu mahasiswa bekerja lebih produktif dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. Kreativitas juga sangat dibutuhkan untuk bertahan dalam era globalisasi. Hasil belajar kognitif menjadi dasar yang krusial untuk melakukan pengembangan dalam hal yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran keterampilan kolaborasi, kreativitas mahasiswa, dan hasil belajar kognitif dalam pembelajaran proyek. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Instrument yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi keterampilan kolaborasi, tes uraian kreativitas, dan tes uraian hasil belajar kognitif. Data dianalisis menggunakan nilai rerata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek keterampilan kolaborasi mahasiswa tertinggi yaitu pada aspek bekerja produktif dan tanggung jawab dengan kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan terendah pada aspek kompromi. Kreativitas mahasiswa tertinggi pada aspek rasa ingin tahu, kelancaran berpikir, elaborasi dengan kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan terendah pada aspek berpikir divergen. Hasil belajar kognitif tertinggi pada domain mengaplikasi, sedangkan terendah pada aspek mengevaluasi. Oleh karena itu dapat direkomendasikan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat memberdayakan keterampilan kolaborasi, kreativitas, dan meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of problem-based learning in improving student learning outcomes. This research uses a classroom action research approach. Data collection techniques are observation and learning outcomes tests. The research results show that problem-based learning makes a major contribution to improving student learning outcomes. In cycle 1 the lowest average learning outcome was 65.50 and the highest was 77.33. Meanwhile in cycle 2 the lowest average learning outcome was 71.33 and the highest was 82. Problem-based learning provided a good response for students to understand the concept of plant ecology. Apart from that, problem-based learning can motivate students to analyze the causes and find solutions to environmental problems.

Abstract

Implementing the right learning model can increase the effectiveness of learning. This research aims to 1) Improve student learning outcomes by implementing the Interactive Demonstration learning model in class The type of research carried out was Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a qualitative approach. The data collection instruments used were end-of-cycle tests, questionnaires, learning model implementation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. The subjects in this research were 13 students. From the results of the data analysis carried out, the research results showed that student completion in cycle I reached 38.46%. The reason for this is because there are still some students who are less active during the learning process, so improvements need to be made in cycle II. Student learning outcomes in cycle II increased until they reached 100% completeness. Students responded very well to the application of the Interactive Demonstration learning model.

Abstract

Science literacy learning is very important for students to be able to apply science in everyday life. This study aims to analyses the application of science literacy-based learning by state school teachers in Tarakan City. The research method used qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were seven state high school of Biology teachers with sampling using purposive sampling technique. Dataobtained based on the results of questionnaires and interviews. The results of the research on aspects of scientific knowledge showed that all teachers can distinguish terms in science literacy learning and on aspects of skills, intellectual processes in indicators of generating principles through induction showed all teachers could explain the phenomenon of observation. On the indicator of identifying and controlling variables showed that two teachers experienced problems in identifying and controlling variables and five other teachers could identify and control variables. The indicator of constructing graphs and finding relationships, it showed that all can transform data into tables/graphs, in the indicator of designing and leading investigations, it showed that three teachers did not design themselves, three other teachers design themselves and one other teacher sometimes designs himself and sometimes, they did not design themselves the steps of the practicum, in the indicator of using technology. The results also showed that one teacher did not utilize laboratory equipment and technology and six other teachers utilized equipment and technology in making observations and in the indicator of drawing conclusions from the facts showed that all teachers made conclusions based on facts obtained from observations.

Abstract

Cognitive learning outcomes (CLO) are the most important part of learning. CLO the basis of students' understanding for further learning. CLO play an important role in students' readiness to face the real world. Therefore, CLO needs to be facilitated in learning. CLO is related to the problem-solving process. This study aims to produce a problem-solving-based textbook to improve conceptual understanding in the Plant Ecology course. This research and development follow the 4D model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, validation sheets, and problem-solving-based test instruments in the form of essay questions. Data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaires, and tests. To determine the feasibility of problem-solving-based test instruments, the data analyzed were the results of validation by material experts and media experts. To determine the practicality of problem-solving-based tests, the data analyzed were the results of lecturer validation and student responses. The result of problem-solving-based textbook that has been compiled has met the validity criteria and practicality. In addition, problem-solving-based textbooks have an effect on CLO. Therefore, problem-solving-based textbooks are highly recommended in improving students' CLO. This means that there is an influence of problem-solving-based textbooks on CLO in the Plant Ecology course. Therefore, problem-solving based textbooks are highly recommended in improving students' CLO.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in biodiversity and traditional knowledge related to the use of medicinal plants. This study aims to document medicinal plant species used by the Dayak Kenyah community in Punan Gong Solok Village, North Kalimantan, and to describe their utilization patterns based on local ethnomedicinal practices. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, involving interviews, participatory observations, and plant identification. Data were collected using snowball sampling for informants and purposive sampling for plant exploration. The results revealed 46 species from 25 families used in traditional medicine, dominated by the Zingiberaceae and Araceae families. Leaves were the most commonly used plant part (33.3%), followed by tubers, roots, and stems. The plants were used to treat stomachaches, gastritis, kidney stones, external wounds, and respiratory disorders, with preparation methods including boiling, pounding, and infusion. These findings highlight the importance of preserving local knowledge as a basis for developing phytopharmaceuticals and promoting community-based conservation.
