Abstract

This study aims to determine the provision of cow urine and get the best concentration to support the growth of seedlings of the rubber budded stump. Research conducted at the Experimental station, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from February to May 2016. This study was conducted experimentally using completely randomized design, which consists of 5 treatments and 3 replications in order to obtain 15 experimental units. The treatments were cow urine concentration as follows: U0 = without cow urine, U1 = concentration of cow urine 5%, U2 = concentration of cow urine 10%, U3 = concentration of cow urine 15%, and U4 = concentration of cow urine 20%. Parameters those observed were seedling height, leaf number, stem diameter and leaf area. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and Duncan’s multiple range test at 5% level. The result showed that administration of multiple concentration of cow urine can increase the amount of leaf and stem diameter rubber budded stump. Giving cow urine 15% and 20% demonstrated better seedling performance compare to without the provision of cow urine, 5% and 10%. To improve seedling performance of budded stump should use cow urine with concentration of 15%.Keywords : budded stump, rubber seeds, cow urine, the growth of seedlings

Abstract

The objective of this research was to estimate genetic parameters such as variability, heritability, various agronomic characters in tomato population through crossbreeding FI. Research was arranged experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RBD) consists of 13 tomato genotypes from crosses with 3 replications were placed haphazardly. Seedlings were transplanted to a plot with a size of 1 m x 5 m with a spacing of 50 cm x 50 centimeter. Each plot treatment plant sample taken as many as 10 plants of 20 tomato plants for plant height, stalk diameter, weight per fruit, fruit length, thick fruit pulp, fruit diameter, total fruit number per plant and total fruit weight per plant. Analysis of variation was later translated into genetic parameters with Griffing method IV models. The outcomes indicated that the genotype of Champions can be chosen as one of the hybrid parents because it delivers a sound value to improve the character of days to flowering, stem diameter, harvesting, thick fruit pulp, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, and total fruit weight per plant. Genotype T78x1, T13x1, T3x13 and T1x13 has a value corresponding to improve the role of stem diameter, days to flowering, and weight per fruit. Characters that have a high heritability with criteria that plant height, flower age, harvesting, planting fruit weight, number of fruits per plant, weight per fruit, fruit number and length of the cavity are positively correlated with total fruit weight per plant. Abstract

The objective of this study was to know the growth and  yield of some varieties of sorghum  which were given several dose phosphorus fertilizer.This research has been conducted  in Field Experiment and the plant breeding laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from April 2014 to October 2014.The study,s  arranged experimentally Randomized Block Design with two factors namely varieties of sorghum and phosphorus fertilizer with three block. First factor are  Kawali, Numbu, Pahat dan Mandau. Second factor are SP-36 45 kg/ha, SP-36 90 kg/ha dan  SP-36 135 kg/ha. Parameters observed were plant height, trunk base diameter, the number of leaves, number of segments per plant, flowering age, age of harvest,  panicle lenght, weight seeds per panicle, weight 1000 seeds and yield per m2. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at level of 5%.The results showed that the provision of phosphorus fertilizer was significantly on various varieties who researched. The provision dose phosphorus fertilizer 90 kg/ha and 135 kg/ha significantly increase higher plants on varieties of Numbu. The different dose of phosphorus fertilizer 45 kg/ha and 90 kg/ha significantly increase the number of segments on varieties of Kawali and Numbu. The provision dose phosphorus fertilizer 45 kg/ha – 135 kg/ha significantly speed up the age of harvest on varieties of Pahat and Numbu. The provision dose phosphorus fertilizer 90  kg/ha has given highest yield/m2 on varieties of Pahat (8,5 ton/ha) and Mandau (8,7 ton/ha). The provision dose of phosphorus fertilizer 135  kg/ha given highest yield/m2 on varieties of Kawali (9,0 ton/ha). The increase dose phosphorus fertilizer 45 kg/ha – 90 kg/ha given highest yield on varieties of Pahat and Mandau, while increase dose phosphorus fertilizer until 135 kg/ha given highest yield on varieties of Kawali and Numbu. Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the yield and seed quality of four sorghum cultivars at different plant spacing and find out proper plant spacing for each sorghum cultivars. This research was conducted at the Agriculture experiment station and in the plant breeding laboratory, Riau University from April 2015 to Agustus 2015. Research conducted an experiment using a randomized block design (RBD), which consists of two factors, the first factor is a cultivar of sorghum which consists of cultivars Patir 9, Patir 10, Pahat and Mandau, the second factor is the spacing of which is comprised of a spacing of 75 cm x 15 cm, 75 cm x 20 cm and 75 cm x 25 cm, in order to obtain 12 test combinations and repeated 3 times so that there are 36 experimental units. Observational data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and continued with further test Tukey. The parameters were observed among panicle length, seed weight per panicle, seed weight per m2, weight of 1000 seeds, harvest moisture, test first count, germination test, speed test germination, plumula length, radicle length.The results showed that sorghum cultivars with a spacing of 75 cm x 15 cm tends to give the highest yield in cultivars Patir 9 (4.19 ton / ha), Mandau (4.01 ton/ ha), Pahat (3.58 ton/ ha) and Patir 10 (3,19 ton / ha). Cultivars Patir 9 and Mandau with a spacing of 75 cm x 15 cm have a higher yield potential than the two other cultivars tested. Plant spacing did not affect seed quality on all cultivars tested. Keywords: sorghum cultivars, plant spacing, yield and seed quality

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the effect of TKKS compost, P2O5 and TKKS interaction with the P2O5 as well as to get the best dose for growth and production of red rice. This research was conducted in the agricultural experimental unit, Agriculture Faculty, Riau University, Bina Widya Street, sub-district of Simpang Baru, district of Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for six months from  May until October 2015. The study arranged experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial. The first factor was TKKS with 4 levels consisting of: 2,5 ton/ha, 5 ton/ha, 7,5 ton/ha and 10 tons/ha and second factor was P2O5 with 4 levels consisting of: 15,525 kg/ha  (TSP33,75 kg/ ha), 31,05 kg/ha (TSP 67,5 kg/ ha), 46,575 kg/ha (TSP 101,25 kg/ha and 62,1 kg/ha (TSP 135 kg/ha). The parameters those observed were plant height, number of maximum tillers,  number of productive tillers, the panicle emergence age, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, filled grain percentage, dry milled grain weight/m2, and weight of 1000 grains milled rice.Analysis of variance and HSD 5% was used for data analysis. The results of research suggested that an increase in all variable observations with increasing dose of treatment. Dry milled grain weight/m2 positively correlated with all the variable observations except for the observation panicle age youth are correlated negatively. TKKS 7.5 ton/ ha and P2O5 46,575 kg/ha treatment can be used as combination to increase growth and yield of red rice.   Keywords: red rice, TKKS, P2O5

Abstract

The research aimed to know the effect of solid waste and  tablet NPK on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. The experiment was conducted in the experimental station of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University from April to August 2016. The research used Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting 2 factor. The first factor of solid waste was 0, 10 and 20 g/plant and the second factor of tablet NPK was 0, 25 and 50 g/plant. Data have been statistically analized and examined further with BNJ if significant effect on level 5%. The outcomes indicated that there was interaction between solid waste and tablet NPK on height of seed , leaf area, number of leaf, diameter of the hump, development of leaf area, volume of root and ratio of root canopy (RTA) palm oil plant. Giving of 4 ton/ha solid waste and 10 ton/ha tablet NPK gives the best growth and development of palm oil seeds. Keywords: Solid Waste, Tablet NPK, Palm Oil Seedlings.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine seeds development pattern and seed quality  changesduring the development of some cultivars of sorghum. The researched was carried out at Faculty of Agricultural experiment station, University of Riau in Pekanbaru. The field experiment was arranged in a randomized block design, consisting of four  sorghum cultivars in three replications. The cultivars were K1=GalurPatir 9, K2 =GalurPatir 10, K3 =VarietasPahat K4 =Varietas Mandau. Parameters observed were seed fresh weight,  seed dry weight, water concentration, dry matteraccumulation rate, effective  filling period, seed yield m-2, seed weight, first count test, standard germination test, and vigor test. Seed were harvestedevery five day beginning from 5 days after antheses (DAP) to 35  (DAP). Data were analyzed by using analysis of variance at significant level of 5%. The results showed that the pattern of  seeddevelopment of all cultivars increased  slowly from 5 to 10 DAP, then increased very rapidly from 10 to 20 DAP, and reached the maximum value at 25 DAP.Following that time the dry tent to decrease until 35 DAP. While the water concentration decreased very rapidly from 5 to 25 and decreased from 25 DAP to 35 (DAP). Dry matter accumulation rate (KPBK) of all cultivars ranged from 1.15 to 1.22 (mg/seed/day), and effective filling period was about 22 days. Seed quality at harvest was very high for allcultivars  but, Patir 9 showed lower seed vigor compared toPahat, Mandau and Patir 10. Grain yield per m2was relatively equal among all cultivar with yield potential off around 3.18 to 4.9 tones per hectare. Key word : seed fresh weight, dryweight,cultivars, seed quality, sorghum

Abstract

 The cultivation of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is not many expanded yet in Indonesia, either the exertion chance or consumtion fulfillment of society. The purpose of the research is to find out the effect of giving various growth media and sugar and get the best combination will increase the production. This research has been conducted in the village of Pandau Jaya of Siak Hulu Kampar district in Riau Province in August until November of 2016. This research was carried out experimentally using a complete randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factor. The first factor is growth media consist of 3 types sawdust, bagasse and tea waste. The second factor is dose of sucrose consist of 4 levels is without sucrose, 40 g, 80 g and 120 g, two factors combined to obtain 12 combined treatments and 4 replication, so there were obtained 48 units experimental each unit countain  2 baglog. Data were analyzed statistically and further test DNMRT at 5 %. The observer parameters is optimal growth of mycelium, pinhead appearance,harvest interval,number of mushrooms,diameter of mushroom hood, weight of mushrooms, biological efficiency. The result showed that the various growing media and the addition of sucrose have an effect on the growth of white oyster mushroom. The combination of growing media of bagasse with the addition of sucrose 40 g yields a mushroom weight of 123.22 g/baglog.Keyword: oyster mushroom, growth media, sugar (sucrose), growth

Abstract

The parameters those observed were plant height, number of stem internodes, stem diameter, panicle length, time to harvest, grain weight per panicle, number of grains per panicle, yield per m2 and weight of 1000 grains. The results showed that increasing plant population per area due tothick planting space increasedgrain yield for 27% to 36.33% compare to wider planting space. Patir 9 as a new line developed by BATAN with 75 cm between row and 15 cm within a row has the high yield potential compared with other cultivars.   Keywords: sorghum cultivars, plant spacing, yield

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interval of coconut water and the dose of Nitrogen fertilizer on the growth of rubber eye stool grafting seeds and get the best treatment on the growth of rubber eye stool rubber seeds. This research was conducted in experimental garden of Agricultural Faculty of Universitas Riau, Tampan, Pekanbaru in June 2016 until August 2016. The experiment was conducted experimentally by using Factorial Random Design (RAL) consisting of 2 factors, the first factor consisted of 2 interval levels (cc / L) ie 3 days and 6 days and second factor: Nitrogen fertilizer with 4 dosage (g / plant) ie 3 g / plant, 6 g / plant, 9 g /. The data obtained were analyzed using Duncan's multiple-range test at 5% level. Interval of young coconut water and dose of urea fertilizer give significant effect to shoot diameter, shoot length, leaf number and leaf rubber seed stum, but not significant effect on shoot growth time. Provision of young coconut water at intervals of 3 days and dose of urea 9 g / plant fertilizer, can produce bud diameter, leaf number and leaf area.Keywords: Coconut Water Interval, Urea Fertilizer, Growth and Development of rubber seedlings.
