Abstract

Introduction: Economic globalization has strengthened foreign investment flows in developing countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam. However, investment policy orientations that overemphasize economic efficiency often ignore social justice for local communities. This inequality raises the need to revisit the legal framework that governs the relationship between foreign investors and the recipient community. Customary law is seen as a source of values and moral principles that can strengthen social legitimacy in the practice of foreign direct investment (FDI).Purposes of the Research:  This study aims to analyze how customary law can play a role in restoring social justice through the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and performance requirements in foreign investment, by comparing the legal frameworks of Indonesia and Vietnam, this study seeks to find a model of customary law integration that is able to balance economic interests with the social and cultural values of local communities. Methods of the Research: This study uses a normative-comparative legal approach by analyzing laws and regulations, policy documents, and CSR implementation practices in Indonesia and Vietnam. Data was collected through literature studies and content analysis of various primary and secondary legal sources. A comparative approach is used to identify similarities and differences in the application of customary law as the basis for foreign investment policies in both countries. Results of the Research: The results of the study show that Indonesia has adopted customary law principles, such as mutual cooperation and social justice, within the legal framework of CSR and investment performance requirements. In contrast, Vietnam still emphasizes socialist state policies without explicit recognition of local customary law values. The integration of customary law has been proven to strengthen the social legitimacy and sustainability of investments, as it fosters corporate social responsibility that is in line with community values and promotes more equitable and inclusive development.

Abstract

This study aims to gather concrete evidence on how financial literacy and financial goals influence retirement planning, with income level as a mediator. This research is driven by the public's need to manage their finances wisely and plan for retirement, especially as the economy becomes increasingly unstable and many people in Indonesia are not actively involved in retirement programs. Unlike previous research that typically focuses only on the direct relationship between variables, this study adds new insights by including income level as a mediator, demonstrating how financial literacy and financial goals can influence retirement planning, especially in developing countries. Data were collected using questionnaires administered to 106 working-age individuals in Indonesia. This study used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) method to test the direct and indirect relationships between the various variables. The findings indicate that having good financial knowledge and clear financial goals leads to better retirement planning, both directly and by influencing one's income. These results suggest that people who are more knowledgeable about money and have a clear financial plan are more likely to plan well for retirement, as greater financial knowledge and a clear direction can help them earn a higher income. This research adds to existing research on retirement planning by demonstrating how income level plays a key role in linking financial capability to long-term financial actions. This research suggests that governments and financial institutions should improve financial education programs to help people set and achieve financial goals, thereby strengthening financial skills and increasing readiness for retirement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of digital financial literacy and social capability on household financial resilience, with financial capability and fintech usage as mediators. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey of households in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that digital financial literacy has a significant effect on financial resilience through financial capability and fintech usage. Furthermore, financial capability serves as a key mediator in the relationships between both digital financial literacy and social capability with financial resilience. Meanwhile, fintech usage mediates the effect of digital financial literacy on financial resilience, but does not mediate the relationship between social capability and financial resilience. These findings suggest that the adoption of financial technology is driven more by individual literacy and cognitive capacity than by social factors. This study highlights the importance of strengthening digital financial literacy and financial capability as strategic pathways to enhance household financial resilience in the digital era

Abstract

The rapid development of financial technology has driven significant transformations in digital payment systems, particularly through e-wallets. Generation Z, as digital natives and active e-wallet users, faces challenges related to digital financial literacy that could potentially impact their satisfaction levels. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing e-wallet user satisfaction among Generation Z, with a focus on the role of digital financial literacy, ease of use, and trust as key determinants, thus providing guidance for digital financial service providers in designing strategies to improve user satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative approach with primary data obtained through a questionnaire in the form of Google Forms. The population of this study is Generation Z in Jepara Regency who use e-wallets. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling method. The criteria used by researchers to select the sample in this study are Generation Z born between 1997 and 2012, domiciled in Jepara, and have experience in using e-wallets (e.g., Dana, GoPay, OVO, ShopeePay, LinkAja). Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS through outer model testing, inner model testing, and hypothesis testing. The research results show that digital financial literacy, ease of use, and trust have a positive and significant impact on user satisfaction. Thus, a good understanding of digital financial products, ease of use, and trust are key factors in determining user satisfaction. Operating an e-wallet and trusting the security of the service are the main keys to increasing Generation Z user satisfaction with e-wallets amidst increasingly fierce competition in the digital economic ecosystem.
