Abstract

Marital satisfaction can be influenced by the quality of husband-wife interaction and the availability of social support. This quantitative study aims to examine the effects of husband-wife interaction, social support, and work-family balance on the marital satisfaction of female elementary school teachers with children under five years old in Bogor City. A total of 179 respondents participated in this study, consisting of 83 public and 96 private elementary school teachers. Data were collected through structured interviews and questionnaires. The analysis employed an independent sample t-test, correlation analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), and path analysis using Smart Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS). The findings revealed significant differences in husband-wife interaction and work-family balance between public and private school teachers. Additionally, husband-wife interaction, social support, and work-family balance were significantly correlated with marital satisfaction. Furthermore, husband-wife interaction and social support were found to have a significant effect on marital satisfaction. These findings suggest the need for the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to re-evaluate the workload and responsibilities assigned to both public and private school teachers, particularly those with young children, in order to support a more optimal work-family balance and enhance marital satisfaction.

Abstract

In the current digital era, the pursuit of romantic relationships has significantly shifted toward online platforms, with dating applications emerging as a prevalent medium. Individuals engage with these apps for a variety of motivations, ranging from entertainment to the pursuit of meaningful connections. Dating apps offer numerous features that allow users to search for partners based on specific personal preferences. Users who are actively seeking partners often demonstrate a willingness to invest financially in the development of these relationships. Distinct from previous studies, this research explicitly explores the relationship between users’ motivations, partner preferences, and their willingness to spend money within the context of dating apps. A total of 1,635 young adults aged 20 to 34 were surveyed through social media platforms, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results reveal that motivation significantly influences partner preferences, and both variables—motivation and partner preferences—significantly predict users’ willingness to spend money. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of behavioral patterns in digital romantic engagement and offer insights into how dating applications may shape financial decision-making in intimate relationships. This study advances the discourse on digital intimacy and consumer behavior by highlighting psychological and relational factors that drive financial investment in online dating contexts. Furthermore, it provides practical implications for individuals seeking to better understand and regulate their motivations and financial behaviors when engaging with dating applications.

Abstract

Analysis of Maternal Religiosity, Parenting Style, and Social Support on Value of Children with Autism: Educational Implications. Objectives: This study examines the correlation and influence of maternal religiosity, parenting style, and social support on the value of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), along with implications for their education. Methods: A total of 145 mothers of children with ASD from the Greater Jakarta area were purposively sampled. Data were collected through online questionnaires, analyzed using Spearman Rank correlation and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Findings: Most participants were millennial mothers with high educational attainment and stable economic status. High levels of religiosity, especially in personal religious practices, were reported, with family as the primary source of social support. Unexpectedly, correlation analysis revealed a negative association between maternal education level and value of children, although the children’s educational level was positively correlated with value of children. Although the authoritative parenting style emerged as the predominant approach, it did not exhibit a significant correlation with the perceived value of children. These findings highlight the crucial role of aligned maternal religiosity and adequate social support in shaping perceptions of children’s value. Conclusion: Highly educated mothers are negatively linked to perceived value of children, while children’s higher educational positively enhances their perceived value as symbols of autonomy and future potential. Therefore, strengthening maternal religiosity, family and community social support, and access to inclusive education are key to enhancing perceptions and educational outcomes for children with ASD. Keywords: autism, inclusive education, religiosity, social support, value of children.

Abstract

The Korean Wave has spread increasingly across various countries, with social media and peer groups serving as its primary channels of dissemination. Traditional values play an important role in adolescents’ decisions to adopt cultural elements from the Korean Wave phenomenon. This study aimed to analyze the influence of social media access, traditional values, and peer interaction on adolescents’ Korean Wave behavior. A quantitative research design was used, involving 100 adolescent Korean fans purposively selected from the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). Data were collected online using Google Forms and analyzed using SPSS and SmartPLS. The SEM analysis results show that the Korean Wave behavior is influenced by social media access, traditional values, and peer interaction. Social media access and peer interaction were found to have a direct positive effect on Korean Wave behavior. Additionally, social media access had an indirect effect on Korean Wave behavior through peer interaction. In contrast, traditional values were found to have a significant negative effect on Korean Wave behavior. It is recommended that the government adopt creative strategies to rebrand local culture to remain competitive in the era of cultural globalization amid the Korean Wave phenomenon. Raising adolescents’ awareness and appreciation of Indonesian culture is also essential and can be fostered through school activities and the internalization of cultural values within families

Abstract

As online shopping trends and competition in the e-commerce sector continue to grow, live streaming has emerged as a promising interactive marketing strategy. This study examines the influence of e-commerce live streaming features on consumer purchase intention through a systematic literature review, analyzing 30 articles published between 2022 and 2024. The objectives of this research are to summarize existing data on the impact of live streaming features on purchase intention, identify the factors influencing the relationship between live streaming and purchase intention, and provide recommendations for Indonesian MSMEs to optimize the use of live streaming. Findings show that China is the dominant research location, with agricultural products being the most frequently studied category. Most studies employed a quantitative approach, particularly using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The analysis identified 130 factors affecting consumer purchase intention, which were categorized into ten main themes. Based on these findings, this study recommends that Indonesian MSMEs optimize live streaming by strengthening emotional aspects such as affective trust and psychological distance, as well as leveraging influencer credibility to attract more consumers. In addition, service quality, information quality, and social presence during live streaming sessions play a crucial role in enhancing consumer satisfaction and purchase intention. This study is expected to serve as a strategic reference for MSMEs in maximizing the potential of live streaming as an effective digital marketing tool.

Abstract

The increasing rates of divorce and the growing number of female-headed households highlight important social dynamics that require serious attention. However, in 2023, only 60.31% of female heads of households were employed, creating economic challenges that affect fulfilling family needs. This situation reflects a gap between women's responsibilities and their access to economic resources. Women who assume dual roles must perform both instrumental and expressive functions, acting as breadwinners and caregivers who provide love and emotional Support to their children. These dual roles often increase the risk of stress, particularly in financial aspects. Single mothers tend to face various forms of vulnerability, including social, physical, emotional, and economic vulnerabilities, all of which can negatively impact overall family well-being. This quantitative research project uses an explanatory research design and a voluntary sampling technique. One hundred twenty-five single mothers participated as respondents, representing various age groups ranging from 25 to 57 years. The highest divorce status was widowhood (63.2%), followed by divorce due to separation (36.8%). Data were collected through a questionnaire tested for validity and reliability. The study results indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on financial stress, meaning that higher levels of financial literacy are associated with lower levels. Social Support also has a positive and significant effect on financial stress, indicating that Support from one's social environment can help reduce financial pressure. Furthermore, financial stress has a negative and significant effect on financial well-being, suggesting that increased financial stress leads to lower financial well-being.

Abstract

Consumptive behavior is the tendency to buy goods or services without rational consideration. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and reference groups toward consumptive behavior across senior high school students. The study used a cross-sectional design and the research location was selected purposively based on the distance of the school from the shopping center area. Using the self-administered questionnaire, the study involved 125 students of public high school (SMAN) at Bogor City, that is SMAN 3 and SMAN 9. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. The study showed that the level of financial literacy was in the medium category, while the reference group and the level of consumptive behavior were in a low category. Moreover, results indicated a relationship between the characteristics of adolescents, financial literacy, reference groups, and consumptive behavior. The regression test found a significant negative effect of financial behavior toward consumptive behavior. Females were more likely to be more consumptive, while reference groups positively influenced the consumptive behavior of senior high school students.

High-grade school students tend to have better financial knowledge and attitude than those from low-grade schools. The results of this study also show that the self-control of students was classified as a low category. Those from low-grade schools were more likely to have better self-control compared to students from the high-grade school. Furthermore, financial behavior, which consists of saving and spending behavior, were categorized as poor. There was a significant difference in financial knowledge, financial attitude, and self-control among both schools. The financial attitude was positively significantly related to financial knowledge and behavior. Self-control was associated positively with financial behavior. Further analysis of multiple linear regression shows a positive and significant effect of financial attitude and self-control towards financial behavior.

Abstract

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, economic pressures have forced families to make various adjustments to maintain their well-being. This study investigated economic coping strategies and the subjective well-being of families during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 1,125 families in Indonesia participated in an online survey using Google Forms and spoke through social media. The research shows that families experienced a decrease in income, which encouraged them to adopt various economic coping strategies. The coping strategy adopted was cutting expenses while increasing income, mainly by utilizing hobbies or skills. Income changes, education, poverty status, savings withdrawal, selling or pawn assets, asking for aid, and borrowing money significantly influenced subjective well-being. Differences in subjective well-being can be observed in economic status, education level, and changes in income. Changes in income and higher education positively affected subjective well-being. Poverty status also had a negative effect on subjective well-being negatively.

Abstract

In sandwich-generation families, there are individuals who simultaneously support the financial needs of children and the elderly. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design using an online survey as a data collection tool. The study was conducted in Indonesia with a research population including sandwich families living in one house consisting of three generations: husband and wife, children, and elderly. The research sample consisted of working wives from the sandwich generation. Of the 223 respondents who participated, 106 met the criteria for further analyses. The results show that spousal education and income play important roles in reducing financial vulnerability and improving family welfare. Harmonious interactions between husbands and wives can reduce financial vulnerability and improve family welfare. Conversely, high financial vulnerability can disrupt a family's objective welfare if not properly managed. The conclusion is the need to improve financial literacy, create a good financial management strategy, and maintain open and harmonious communication between husband and wife to reduce financial vulnerability and improve the welfare of sandwich-generation families.
