Abstract

This research was aimed to study the effect of glycerol separation on palm oil transesterification. Objectives of this study were to suppress the use of excess methanol and shorten the processing time. This research consisted of: design-build reactor, the effect of the glycerol separation on the transesterification reaction, characterization of biodiesel, and mass balance analysis. The reactor was designed by integrating circulate stirrer pump, static mixer, and sprayer that will bring out the intense reaction in the outer tank reactor. The experiment in this research was the treatment of decreasing the quantity of methanol to 5:1 molar ratio and reducing of processing time to 20 min, which was arranged in a completely randomized factorial design. The result showed that, (i) the stirring system was effectively worked outside the reactor tank, and in its reactor tank occurred glycerol separation during the process; (ii) the rate of glycerol during the process followed the inverse regression equation of Ŷ = 66.44-351.17 X-1; (iii) the decrease in the level of methanol to 5:1 molar ratio and the reduction of processing time to 20 min in this engineering did not influence the biodiesel yield and quality that met the SNI 04-7182-2006 standard.

Abstract

AbstractOil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB) is a type of solid waste from the palm oil processing industry. The components of OPEFB include cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. OPEFB has a large cellulose content, so it possesses the potential to be used as a bioplastic material. The purpose of this research was to examine the stages of the bioplastics' production process and its characterization. The cellulose content of OPEFB as raw material and during the isolation process which includes hydrolysis, delignification, pulping, and bleaching are 39.59%, 56.00%, 59.85%, 61.48%, and 68.20%, respectively. Cellulose isolation produces α-cellulose content of 97.87%. The resulting cellulose acetate has an acetyl content of 25.93%. The bioplastics were then characterized to determine the effect of cellulose acetate, starch, chitosan, and glycerol on the physical and mechanical properties of the plastics. The results of the physical properties characterization include biodegradability, water absorption, and density with values of 78.73%, 38.26%, and 1.2% respectively. The results of the mechanical properties characterization include tensile strength, elongation, and modulus of elasticity with values of 0.729 MPa, 4.13%, and 17.5 MPa, respectively. The functional groups in the bioplastics, which are O-H, C-H, C-O, C=O, and N-H, are produced from the mixing process between cellulose acetate, starch, chitosan, and glycerol.

Abstract

The use of social media as a marketing tool provides a lot of convenience for consumers to get information about the products they need or want. Marketing through social media is also known as digital marketing. The purpose of this research is to determine whether there is a positive and significant influence between influencer marketing and brand image on buying decision. Descriptive quantitative methods were used in this research by distributing questionnaires for research data collection and randomization using purposive sampling technique to collect respondents who had bought products and followed Frutivez’s Instagram. Multiple regression analysis was used on the data obtained to determine the influence exerted by influencer marketing and brand image on consumer buying decisions. The results of this research show that influencer marketing, brand image, and the combination of the two variables have a positive and significant influence on consumer buying decisions with a strong influence based on the results of hypothesis testing in this study which shows that: (1) Influencer marketing has a positive and significant effect on buying decisions with a regression coefficient value of 0.581 ; (2) Brand image has a positive effect on buying decisions with a regression coefficient value of 0.298, and (3) Influencer marketing and brand image simultaneously have a positive effect on buying decisions, as evidenced with the coefficient of determination value of 0.705 indicating that the ability of the independent variables in explaining the variation of the dependent variable is 70.5%. This proves that the number of product sales from September to October is due to the influence of influencer marketing and brand image which has a positive and significant influence on consumer buying decisions to increase sales of Frutivez’s products.

Abstract

The study consisted of reactor design used for transesterification process, effect of glycerol separation on transesterification reaction, determination of biodiesel quality, and mass balance analysis. The reactor was designed by integrating circulated pump/stirrer, static mixer, and sprayer that intensify the reaction in the outer tank reactor. The objective was to reduce the use of methanol in excess and to shorten the processing time. The results showed that the reactor that applied the glycerol separation was able to compensate for the decreased use of the reactant methanol from 6:1 to 5:1 molar ratio, and changed the mass balance in the product, including: (i) the increase of biodiesel production from 42.37% to 49.34%, and (ii) the reduction of methanol in excess from 42.37% to 32.89%. The results suggested that the efficiency of biodiesel production could be increased with the glycerol separation engineering.

Abstract

Quality is one of many important aspects that need to be improved and maintained to make sure manufacturers have competitive advantage to meet consumer’s needs. Aneka Snack 3E as a home industry that produces banana and onion chips needs to improve and keep the product quality to be able to compete with other competitors. However, quality control system at Aneka Snack 3E was uncontrolled because the company did not have Standart Operating Procedure (SOP). This research conducted to arrange and implement production’s SOP which include alternative solution from quality improvement of Aneka Snack 3E. The SOP was arranged based on CPPB-IRT (Cara Produksi Pangan yang Baik untuk Industri Rumah Tangga) and WISE (Work Improvement in Small Enterprises) with DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) cycle as continuous quality improvement method to solve problems to the root. This research identified 31 deviations within production process to CPPB-IRT and Wise. Each causes of those deviations were analyzed and resulting 33 documents to solve the problems. Those documents contain 12 work procedures, 13 work instructions, and 8 forms. The evaluation results show that of the 33 documents made, as many as 18 documents or 55% of documents are considered very applicable and as many as 15 documents or 45% of documents are considered applicable to the Aneka Snack 3E production process. Based on these, with permission of Aneka Snack 3E’s owner, those documents is set to become production’s SOP that needed to be supervised and implemented by Aneka Snack 3E.Keywords: cara produksi pangan yang baik untuk industri rumah tangga, standard operational procedure, quality,work improvement in small enterprises.

Abstract

Usaha mikro kecil dan menengah semakin berkembang di Indonesia. Berdasarkan data yang bersumber dari (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2016) jumlah usaha mikro kecil non pertanian berjumlah 26.073.689 unit Berkembangnya usaha mikro kecil menengah mengakibatkan persaingan yang ketat. Kualitas merupakan hal yang penting bagi pelaku usaha agar dapat bersaing. Kepuasan pelanggan dapat ditentukan berdasarkan kualitas yang diberikan untuk pelanggan. Soto Ayam Surabaya “mbak SRie” merupakan salah usaha mikro yang bergerak dalam jasa penyedia makan restoran atau warung makan yang memiliki permasalahan mengenai kualitas yang diberikan untuk pelanggan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi yang diprioritaskan guna meningkatkan kualitas dari Soto Ayam Surabaya “mbak SRie” dengan menggunakan Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) dengan menggunakan software ExpertChoice. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan dengan pemilik usaha dihasilkan 8 strategi yang dapat dipertimbangkan. Hasil kombinasi antara pemilik pertama dan kedua dengan menggunakan metode AHP dan software ExpertChoice didapatkan strategi prioritas berupa memulai digitalisasi dengan nilai bobot sebesar 0,308, memperbaiki kemasan dengan nilai bobot sebesar 0,206 dan merencanakan mendapatkan sertifikat halal dengan nilai bobot sebesar 0,122.

Abstract

Intisari— Mutu merupakan salah satu hal penting yang harus di tingkatkan dan dijaga agar produsen dapat bersaing dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen. Aneka Snack 3E sebagai salah satu Industri Rumah Tangga yang memproduksi keripik pisang dan keripik bawang perlu meningkatkan dan menjaga mutu produk agar mampu bersaing dengan kompetitor. Akan tetapi, pengendalian mutu di Aneka Snack 3E tidak terkontrol dengan baik karena belum memiliki SOP (Standar Prosedur Operasi) Produksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menyusun dan menerapkan SOP Produksi yang memuat alternatif solusi dari perbaikan mutu Aneka Snack 3E. Penyusunan SOP dilakukan berdasarkan persyaratan CPPB-IRT (Cara Produksi Pangan yang Baik untuk Industri Rumah Tangga) dan WISE (Work Improvement in Small Enterprises) dengan menggunakan siklus DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) sebagai metode continuous quality improvement yang dapat memecahkan masalah sampai ke akar masalah. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi ditemukan adanya 31 penyimpangan proses produksi terhadap persyaratan CPPB-IRT dan WISE. Penyebab dari penyimpangan tersebut dianalis dan menghasilkan 33 dokumen yang disusun sebagai solusi dari penyimpangan yang ditemukan. Dokumen tersebut terdiri 12 Prosedur Kerja, 13 Instruksi Kerja, dan 8 Formulir. Hasil evaluasi menunjukan bahwa seluruh dokumen dapat diimplementasikan dengan baik oleh seluruh karyawan sehingga dengan persetujuan dari Pemilik Aneka Snack 3E dokumen tersebut ditetapkan menjadi SOP Produksi yang harus diawasi dan dilaksanakan oleh pihak Aneka Snack 3E. Abstract

The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of green marketing as a mediating variable on increasing green knowledge variables on increasing consumer buying interest in eco-friendly products. Questionnaires were distributed to 110 Starbucks Coffee consumers in Bandung, which were analyzed by descriptive analysis to describe general characteristics of the respondents. The Structured Equation Model – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis was also used to confirm the theory that there is an influence of green marketing variables as a mediating variable on increasing green knowledge on consumer buying interest in green products. The results showed that consumers of Starbucks Coffee in Bandung were dominated by women in their early adulthood who worked as private employees with moderate income. The implementation of the green marketing strategy by Starbucks is expected to maximize customer service in accordance with the description of consumer characteristics with the green marketing strategy  implemented by Starbucks Coffee. The provision of green knowledge that affects the increase in consumer purchase intention of green products can be further improved positively and significantly through the application of green marketing strategies as a mediating variable.

Abstract

Currently, there are still many people who have not processed food with due regard to cleanliness and hygiene. Foodborne illness is still a public health problem in Indonesia because of the lack of personal hygiene and environmental sanitation in food preparation and service. This study aims to determine the extent to which GMP-WISE is implemented at IKM Kerupuk Saluyu Putra so that later this business can improve safety and produce hygienic preparations. This research will be conducted on Jl. Raya Barat Cicalengka, Panenjoan, Cicalengka District, Bandung Regency, West Java from December 2021 to November 2022. This research was conducted using the Good Manufacturing Practices and Work Improvement in Small Enterprises (GMP-WISE) method. Data collection used questionnaires, and data analysis used several stages, namely observing current conditions, suggesting improvements, and validating employee knowledge. The results of the hypothesis test show that there is a relationship between the implementation of GMP-WISE and employee hygiene and sanitation knowledge. Production process improvements, GMP-WISE guidelines, and employee training need to be carried out to maintain product safety.

Abstract

CV. ABC is a company in the food sector that promotes products on social media. However, along with the development of the internet, many other business actors have started to use social media to promote their products, which has led to competition between businesses. Therefore, CV. ABC must attract purchase intention by increasing the AISAS (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share) model in its social media marketing. Thus, this study aims to analyze how the influence of the AISAS model on social media relates to purchase intention. This research is categorized into quantitative analysis with a descriptive approach. The data used are primary and secondary. Primary data collection uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-5. The sampling technique was a purposive sampling of 140 respondents. The analysis technique used is the coefficient of determination test, F test, t-test, and multiple linear regression test processed with SPSS 25 software. The study's results prove the influence of the AISAS model (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share) on purchase intention is 0.679 or 67.9% and individually, namely Attention 0.160, Interest 0.200, Search 0.084, Action 0.251, and Share 0.102. The most dominant AISAS model variable influencing purchase intention is the Action variable which is indicated by the significance with the smallest value of 0.000 <0.05.
