Abstract

PT XYZ merupakan perusahaan di Jawa Barat yang memproduksi produk pangan khususnya biskuit. Proses produksi biskuit di PT XYZ perusahaan masih mengalami kendala yang berkaitan dengan waste. Metode lean six sigma diaplikasikan untuk membantu mengurangi waste yang terjadi di PT XYZ. Metode ini menggunakan kerangka kerja DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, dan control) dibantu dengan beberapa tools seperti value stream mapping, E-DOWNTIME waste, nilai sigma, cause and effect diagram, dan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. Value stream mapping menunjukkan hasil process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) dari 1 batch yang dihitung adalah 80,66% yang berarti 19,34% sisanya adalah non value added time. Non value added  time ini menunjukkan adanya kemungkinan waste yang terjadi di PT XYZ. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, waste defect, waiting, dan transportation menjadi jenis waste yang paling sering terjadi dan berpengaruh terhadap produksi biskuit di PT XYZ. Hasil kuesioner FMEA menunjukkan waste defect dengan potential cause kanvas tidak seamless memiliki nilai RPN paling tinggi, lalu RPN tertinggi waste waiting  adalah potential cause operator lalai serta kurang memperhatikan setelan mesin sehingga middleseal dan endseal mesin tidak pas, sedangkan waste transportation dengan RPN tertinggi adalah potential cause tata letak yang tidak efisien sehingga menambah leadtime produksi. Usulan perbaikan yang diberikan penulis adalah membuat master schedule maintenance, membentuk tim pengawas lapangan, mengganti kanvas menjadi seamless, dan membuat mapping layout area gudang.

Abstract

Tempe chips are simple preparations that have a new taste from consuming tempe. The tight competition between tempe chips business requires SMEs Kahla Tempe Crispy to continue to innovate and improve quality periodically. Tempe chips must be quality and guaranteed food safety for the community and the environment. This study aims to determine the attributes of products needed and desired by consumers Kahla Tempe Crispy with attention to the environment and costs in the production process through the method of Green quality function Deployment II. This method not only considers the quality aspect but also considers the environmental and cost aspects into the matrix, which is described in the Matrix House of Quality, Green House, Cost House, and Comparison House. House of Quality research results show there are 5 attributes that have been met by Kahla Tempe Crispy. Based on the Green House, there are 2 processes that have Critical Control Point and there are solid, liquid and gas waste from production. Through the value engineering method by replacing with a flat frying pan can reduce the cost of cooking oil for 1 year by Rp. 4.608.000. And the profit obtained by using a flatfrying  pan of Rp. 1,238,630,400 or greater Rp. 606,412,800 from a concave pan.On the matrix Concept Comparison House produces the best wok product concept for the production process of tempe chips are effective and efficient and meet the criteria Q.E.C (Quality, Environment, Cost). With the performance value of flat frying pan is higher (275) than concave frying pan (253), and the cost of flat frying pan is more economical (Rp. 347,753,592) from a concave pan (Rp. 351.968.592).

Abstract

Since the Covid-19 pandemic has shaken the world and caused economic activity in all countries to be depressed, each country is slowly getting back up. This is evident from the escalating market competitiveness, particularly in a time when technological advancement is moving so quickly. Therefore, it is necessary for every businessperson, like Z&J Bakery, to choose which strategies are appropriate to use. This is because the strategy that has been implemented has not been able to make Z&J Bakery achieve sales targets per month and per year. This research was carried out between November 2021 and July 2022 on Jl. Eyang Weri in Kuningan, West Java, to determine what alternative methods can be implemented and which ones should be prioritized to increase sales volume. The use of IFE, EFE, SWOT quadrant, SWOT analysis, and QSPM matrix were used in this research as a data collection method and to analyze the data obtained.. Results indicate that Z&J Bakery is in the first quadrant, which is in line with the employment of an aggressive strategy. The outcomes of the SWOT matrix are six alternative strategies that could be used. However, the priority strategy to be implemented based on the QSPM matrix is to maintain good relations and expand cooperation with new resellers through providing affordable product prices to further expand the market, because this strategy has the largest STAS score of 4.91.

Abstract

The growth of herbal products in Indonesia is increasing every year causing the competition between herbal product companies to be increasingly tight. One of the herbal product companies in Indonesia is Rahsa Nusantara, but the growth in the category of loyal customers is not so significant. The research was conducted at the Rahsa Nusantara company in the range of January to August 2022. This study aims to determine the effect of emotional branding on Rahsa Nusantara's customer loyalty by using a simple linear regression method. The population in this study are Rahsa Nusantara customers who have made a minimum of one transaction. Collecting data using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The results of the research findings that emotional branding can affect customer loyalty positively significantly with the highest emotional branding aspect in the vision aspect is known by correlation test. The results of the regression test resulted in a regression coefficient with a value of 0.462, indicating that each addition of one unit to the emotional branding variable will increase the value of customer loyalty by 0.462. The coefficient of determination found at 32% means that customer loyalty is only influenced by 32% by emotional branding. Thus, future research needs to examine other than emotional branding variables.

Abstract

Kerusakan-kerusakan lingkungan yang terjadi selama ini memancing kekhawatiran dan keprihatinan masyarakat dunia, tidak terkecuali masyarakat yang ada di Indonesia. Dampak plastik terhadap lingkungan merupakan akibat negatif yang harus ditanggung alam karena keberadaan sampah plastik. Dampak ini ternyata sangat signifikan. Untuk mengatasi masalah sampah plastik yang tidak dapat terdegradasi dan bahan baku plastik yang tidak dapat diperbaharui, perlu adanya plastik dari bahan baku yang dapat diperbaharui (bioplastic). Masalah lingkungan yang terjadi menghasilkan kepedulian lingkungan masyarakat akan kelestarian lingkungan. Kepedulian lingkungan tersebut dapat dituangkan dengan pembelian produk ramah lingkungan atau sering diistilahkan sebagai green consumer behaviour. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa perilaku green consumers behavior pada produk bioplastik dengan metode planned behavior. Metode penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan teknik nonprobability sampling. Populasi pada penelitian ini merupakan pelanggan PT Indomaret yang berdomisili di Jatinangor, Sumedang, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan aplikasi Smart PLS 3. Hasil temuan penelitian yaitu sikap konsumen, norma subyektif, control perilaku dan green consumers dapat mempengaruhi penggunaan bioplastik secara positif signifikan.

Abstract

Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) has become one of the potential plants to be developed due to its numerous benefits from the active ingredient, curcuminoid. Curcuminoid has antibacterial, antioxidant, and antihepatotoxic properties that can enhance the absorption of vitamins A, D, E, and K. The process to obtain curcuminoid can be carried out through an extraction process using a solvent. This research aimed to optimize the extraction process of curcuminoid from turmeric at a lower cost. The response surface methodology with a central composite design was used in this study to optimize the concentration of ethanol solvent (50-90%, v/v) and the flow rate of ethanol solvent (20-40 mL/minute) on the yield and curcuminoid. The research results indicate that the optimum conditions for the percolation extraction process (ethanol concentration = 90% and ethanol flow rate = 20 mL/minute) result in a yield value of 22.75% (w/w) and curcuminoid content of 13.54% (w/v). The curcuminoid was characterized based on several parameters, including water content of 11.15% (w/w) and antioxidant activity of 98.39% (w/v). The research concludes that the optimum results of the process conditions demonstrate the percolation extraction method with the variables of ethanol concentration and minimal ethanol solvent flow rate, which require lower costs while yielding optimum yield and curcuminoid content. Therefore, this can be applied in further research on curcumin production or its application in the food and non-food industries.

Abstract

Indonesia merajai pangsa ekspor teh hitam sekitar 76-87%. Pada tahun 2022, Indonesia mengalami kenaikan jumlah ekspor teh hitam mencapai 7,01%. PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII merupakan salah satu perusahaan penghasil teh hitam di Indonesia. Teh hitam yang diproduksi harus memiliki kualitas yang baik agar ekspor teh di Indonesia dapat terus melonjak naik. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas teh hitam adalah memaksimalkan proses pemeliharaan tanaman teh di kebun. Proses pemeliharaan yang dilakukan oleh PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII terdiri dari penyiangan gulma secara manual (babad) dan pemberian herbisida sebagai usaha dalam meminimalisir tumbuhnya gulma pada tanaman teh. Maka dari itu, perlu adanya analisis dengan metode tekno ekonomi untuk menentukan proses mana yang lebih efektif untuk menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas teh, serta menguntungkan bagi perusahaan dari aspek finansial, teknis dan teknologi. Tujuan analisis ini adalah untuk memberikan rekomendasi kepada perusahaan proses pemeliharaan tanaman teh yang paling efektif dan tetap menguntungkan. Hasil analisis Break Even Point atau titik impas proses perlakuan babad adalah 9.483kg teh dan pada proses penyemprotan herbisida memiliki titik impas 45.362kg. Biaya Net Present Value untuk perlakuan babad adalah Rp 386.433.662 dan herbisida adalah Rp 448.965.311. Sedangkan hasil analisis biaya Benefit Cost Ratio untuk perlakuan babad adalah 3,58% dan herbisida adalah 3,57%. Maka kedua proses pemeliharaan tersebut dinyatakan layak untuk dilanjutkan karena memberikan keuntungan bagi perusahaan. Dari hasil perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, proses penyiangan manual (babad) memiliki keunggulan dari nilai titik impas dan analisis biaya Benefit Cost Ratio. Selain itu, proses penyiangan manual juga memiliki keunggulan di segi teknis dan teknologi. Manfaat dari penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan oleh perusahaan dalam penentuan proses pemeliharaan dalam upaya menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas teh hitam untuk kebutuhan ekspor di Indonesia.

Abstract

Saat ini Industri kakao di Indonesia terus mengalami penurunan jumlah produksi dan jumlah lahan. Hal ini diakibatkan oleh praktek produksi kakao yang dianggap kurang menguntungkan bagi Sebagian besar petani. Sehingga perlu dilakukan evaluasi penggunaan sumber-sumber daya dan energi serta performansi ekonomi dari aktivitas produksi kakao sehingga dapat dijadikan landasan dalam melakukan perbaikan dalam aktivitas budidaya petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan energi dan performansi ekonomi berdasarkan pendekatan siklus daur hidup produksi kakao di hulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode life cycle cost analysis (LCC) untuk mengevaluasi performansi ekonomi, serta Social-Life Cycle Analysis (S-LCA) untuk mengevaluasi dampak social. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mengelola 1 ha perkebunan kakao menggunakan sistem organik menghasilkan pendapatan dan laba bersih tertinggi bagi petani dibandingkan dengan sistem pemupukan kimia. Oleh karena itu, sistem pemupukan organik sangat dianjurkan untuk diterapkan secara luas, mengingat keunggulan lingkungan dan ekonominya. Sedangkan untuk penilaian dampak sosial, skor rata-rata dari kategori yang digunakan dalam analisis adalah 3,75. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa produksi kakao memiliki dampak sosial yang positif terhadap masyarakat sekitar, konsumen, dan pemerintah.

Abstract

In the pursuit of optimizing information systems and website development for PT. PVI (Renstra), an extensive analysis was conducted on the use of CMS WordPress supplemented with the Elementor add-on as the primary tool for website construction. This analysis sought to assess the feasibility and capabilities of Elementor basic in meeting Renstra's requirements. Various critical aspects were evaluated, including account creation, login and logout systems, as well as form display and integration. Elementor basic, while providing the convenience of a user-friendly drag-and-drop design interface, falls short of fully satisfying Renstra's needs. A significant challenge encountered was Elementor basic's inability to create a seamless account creation system integrated with login and logout features. This posed a hindrance for website users seeking to input data, as they were unable to smoothly implement login functionalities within Elementor basic. To address these challenges, several recommendations are proposed. Firstly, Renstra should consider upgrading to Elementor Pro, which offers an array of comprehensive features, including streamlined form integration and efficient account creation. Secondly, designing an efficient login system within Elementor Pro to enable users to effortlessly create accounts, log in, and access their work progress is paramount. Thirdly, meticulous attention should be given to integrating form submission and the Progress Bar to enable users to submit data effortlessly and view their progress directly on the website, eliminating the need for manual Progress Bar adjustments. Fourthly, leveraging Elementor Pro's additional design features can significantly enhance the website's overall appearance, ensuring it aligns with user requirements. Finally, Renstra should explore the development of supplementary features to enrich the user experience, such as enhanced work progress management, progress notifications for registered users, or more restricted access for specific users. Implementing these recommendations will enable PT. PVI to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their information system and website. This, in turn, will enable them to provide superior services to their users, enhance transparency in progress reporting, and ultimately achieve their goal of optimizing their corporate information system.

Abstract

Plastic is the dominant packaging used by the public, so it has the potential to damage the environment. It is necessary to synthesize raw materials for making plastics that are degraded by microorganisms, namely bioplastics. Bioplastics are packaging materials that are synthesized from natural raw materials so that they can be degraded in the environment. The raw material used is corncob because it is abundant and the benefits are not maximized. Research is needed to examine the stages of the production process and the characterization of bioplastics from corncob waste. The purpose of this study was to examine the stages of the production process and the characterization of bioplastics from corncob waste. This study used a laboratory experimental method with descriptive analysis. The production of bioplastics consists of the stages of making cellulose, cellulose acetate, and bioplastics using the solution casting method. The stages of cellulose isolation include hydrolysis, delignification, pulping, and bleaching, which showed an increase in cellulose content from 32.14% to 79.36%. Cellulose is acetylated to become cellulose acetate and has an acetyl content of 11.70 ± 0.40% with a yield of 121.16 ± 0.98%. The production of bioplastics uses a composition of cellulose acetate and chitosan at 50%:50% (w/w) successively. The resulting bioplastic has a thickness of 0.345 ± 0.024 mm, a density of 0.83 ± 0.03 g/cm3, a moisture content of 13.13%, a biodegradation value of 95.19%, a water resistance of 205.57%, and is transparent. The mechanical properties of bioplastics include a tensile strength of 22.3 N/m, an elongation of 21.11%, and a modulus of elasticity of 0.307 Mpa.
