Abstract

This study aims to measure the effect of implementing digital flashcards on the mastery of lessons in english education language of 11th grade students at SMAN 1 Singaraja. This study is part of a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test experimental design and a control group. The population of this study was 395 eleventh grade students at SMAN 1 Singaraja and by simple random sampling, 78 students were selected from two classes that were declared normal and homogeneous as samples. The results showed that the use of digital flashcards significantly improved students' mastery of lessons compared to conventional methods. Pre-test and post-test data were analyzed using a t-test, and it was found that the average post-test score of the experimental group (82.46) was higher than that of the control group (72.19). The significance value obtained (p <0.05) indicated a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. In addition, students in the experimental group showed higher learning motivation and active involvement during learning. This study makes an important contribution to understanding the effectiveness of technology in language learning and provides practical recommendations for educators to improve teaching methods through interactive media.

Abstract

Elementary school students have not been able to master basic vocabulary, so many have difficulty learning English. Students have difficulty in translating, understanding, and pronouncing words, as well as spelling and remembering vocabulary, so their interest in learning English decreases. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Quizlet in the English vocabulary achievement of 5th-grade elementary school students. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a post-test-only control group design. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The entire population of 5th-grade students consists of two parallel classes. The data collection method uses tests. The data collection instrument uses test questions. The data analysis technique uses inferential statistical analysis (t-test). The results of this study show that the mean post-test value of the experimental group is higher than the control group. The results of the t-test show significant values between the two groups. The calculation of the effect size also supports this by showing Cohen's large standard. It is concluded that the use of Quizlet is efficacious in improving students' English vocabulary achievement. This study implies that the application of Quizlet in vocabulary achievement in English learning helps increase students' interest in learning.

Abstract

The low level of reading comprehension of 8th-grade students in English subjects is indicated by their lack of inability to capture information from reading texts. In addition, conventional learning methods that are less interactive are suspected to be one of the causes of students' lack of motivation and engagement in the reading learning process. This study aims to investigate the effect of implementing Liveworksheet learning media on the English reading comprehension of 8th-grade students in junior high school. This study used a post-test only design. The population of this study was all 8th-grade students of the junior high school. The sample of this study was 34 students. Data analysis showed a significant difference in post-test scores, with the experimental group exceeding the control group. The t-test results also showed a statistically significant difference (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000). In addition, Cohen's d analysis showed a significant effect size. The results showed that Liveworksheet significantly influenced students' English reading comprehension, demonstrating its effectiveness as a digital learning medium. In conclusion, the implementation of Liveworksheet in 8th-grade students has been proven to have a positive effect on improving English reading comprehension. This study implies that the application of Liveworksheet can be an effective learning strategy to improve the English reading comprehension of 8th-grade students.
