Abstract

Biomass is a potential energy source and can be developed as an alternative energy source as a substitute for fossil fuels. Biomass can be converted into briquettes or charcoal which can be used as an energy source, such as for the drying process in processing crumb rubber and smoked sit. Biomass charcoal briquettes or biobriquettes are made from biomass charcoal, either in the form of parts that are intentionally used as raw material for briquettes or leftovers or waste from agro-industrial production/processing processes. For example, wood, coconut shells, palm shell charcoal, bamboo waste, corn cobs, rice husks and tobacco stem waste can be raw materials for biobriquettes. Apart from that, waste from the crumb rubber industry in the form of chips can also be used as biobriquettes. Biobriquette manufacturing technology is widely available. Making biobriquettes requires supporting materials such as clay, starch glue, water and other mixing materials. The composition of these materials really depends on the type of raw material for making biobriquettes. Before making biobriquettes, biomass must first be converted into charcoal, then the charcoal is crushed, mixed and molded into various briquette shapes such as cylinders, cubes and eggs. From several research results, in general the calorific value produced from biobriquettes is not significantly different compared to coal briquettes. Therefore, biobriquettes can be used as fuel for the natural rubber drying process.

Abstract

The increasing need for electricity for the community and the cost constraints for using fossil energy, require innovation in creating electricity sources using hydropower (PLTA). To increase the efficiency and stability of the output wave, a converter is installed in this circuit which can produce an output voltage that is lower or higher than the input voltage by using a PWM switch duty cycle. By installing a converter in a hydropower generating circuit, of course it cannot accommodate very large amounts of voltage due to the limited specifications of the components used. The Buck-Boost circuit used must use accurate mathematical calculations and must be simulated first to prevent and minimize the occurrence of errors and undesirable things.

Abstract

Solar energy is an alternative energy source that is increasingly popular in various places because it never runs out and is environmentally friendly. The application of solar energy that is commonly used today is solar panels. However, solar panels only produce electrical energy at a relatively low voltage. Therefore, a tool is needed that can increase the electrical voltage produced by solar panels so that they can be used optimally. In this case, Buck-Boost Converter and CUK Converter are two types of converters that can be used. Buck-Boost Converter is a type of converter that can change the input DC voltage into an output DC voltage with a value that is higher or lower than the input voltage. Buck-Boost Converters are suitable for use on solar panels that produce fluctuating voltage. Meanwhile, the CUK Converter is a type of converter that can also change the input DC voltage to an output DC voltage, the same as Buck-Boost but with a simpler design. However, the weakness of the CUK Converter is that its performance is worse when the electrical load changes. When used on solar panels, both types of converters can be used depending on the needs and conditions of the solar panels used. If the solar panel produces a fluctuating voltage, then a Buck-Boost Converter can be used to produce a stable output voltage. However, if the solar panel produces a stable voltage, then the CUK Converter can be used as a simpler alternative

Abstract

Physical workings and physiological data of the work operator on the work of human at work. Therefore, it is necessary to design the working environment for operator comfort and work time determinant. The research process by measuring the physical work environment, the operator's physiological data, the determination of time and work break time. The transmitter and the frais are too dark, the temperature is too hot and humid, it is necessary to increase the number of lamps and air ventilation around the lathe and frais operators. Frais machine operators generated CVL of 26.7% which is still below 30% then operators of frais machines can not be exposed to work. Lathe operators of CVL results are 31.34%, because the results are in the range of 30% - 60% then the lathe operators experience work that result to operator performance. Lathe operators require a break time of 20.85 minutes and the engine operator frais 18.85 minutes.

Abstract

The increase in population in Indonesia is directly proportional to existing economic activities. The main need that every human needs is food, so many food industries continue to develop. One of these industries is the tofu making industry. Many of these industries result in several problems such as unpleasant odors from waste and damage to the water ecosystem in rivers. On the other hand, the use of microalgae is still often considered inadequate, so innovation needs to be carried out to optimize the usefulness of microalgae. Therefore, researchers made an innovation by using microalgae to remove COD and eliminate bad odors in tofu dregs liquid waste. This research method is an experiment using data from journals and the internet. Data processing is descriptive in the form of data results that are compared with materials used every day

Abstract

Ships are a means of transportation that connects islands inside and outside the country's territory. Maritime workers are seafarers who are employed from various places and make various journeys to and from their homes. Since its founding, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has attempted to reduce ship accidents by setting minimum safety standards for ships and their crews (Wahyuni ​​et al., 2021). As a result, accidents caused by technical or mechanical problems within the ship's structure are currently very low. However, human error is one of the most important sources of problems for the global maritime community. For example, Rothblum (2012) shows that human error accounts for more than 75% to 96% of marine accidents. Barsan, Surugiu, and Dragomir also show that more than 80% of maritime accidents are caused by human error (TRANSNAV, 2012). In carrying out this action, it is necessary to investigate the problem from which information can be drawn. So the method that will be used in this research is the HFACS method. Abstract

The use of innovative technology, the need for effectiveness and efficiency is prioritized in various fields. Smart door lock is a new technology for using doors automatically. From this, a new innovation was created with technological developments where the microcontroller was made more complex by using cards according to scheduling. The method used in this research is the experimental method and prototype method. After assembling each component and programming the system so that the RFID system is realized, it is necessary to test the series of components that are ready. The way this prototype system works is included in a closed system because it provides feedback on the output produced. The work of this system starts from the RFID sensor which will identify the card by taking data from the RFID number on the card. The card used will be registered in the programming system so that only registered cards can be processed by the system. When the card is attached to the RFID sensor, the RFID sensor will process the card as input and then control it using the Arduino Uno microcontroller. Then the output from this system is movement on the servo which can be applied to the door lock.

Abstract

The increasing number of Indonesia's population is certainly in line with the increasing number of housing demand. The need for housing makes the innovation of building materials grow. One of the building materials that is often used is plywood. The use of wood base material as a building material certainly needs to be considered. The number of fires that reached 382 in DKI Jakarta Province in 2022 is one of the factors that make the use of plywood necessary to be considered. Therefore, researchers make innovations by utilizing borax or sodium tetraborate as a fire retardant material to coat plywood. The research method used is in the form of experiments using data from journals and the internet. Data processing in the form of descriptive data results compared to materials used daily.

Abstract

In Indonesia, almost every place has a tempe factory with various types of preparations. The large number of tempe industries in Indonesia causes an abundance of tempe processing industrial waste. The by-product of the tempeh-making process is soybean husk wasteh e. As is well known, soybean bran waste has low economic value so it needs to be innovated and further research carried out in order to produce a new product in the form of biscuits, easy to manufacture and liked by the wider community, namely limquade biscuits. Processing of biscuits made from waste soybean husk waste was carried out experimentally, namely drying the soybean epidermis which was still wet, smoothing the dry soybean epidermis, then mixing the butter with sugar and adding wheat flour, eggs, vanilla, and soybean epidermis flour so that it became dough. After that the dough is printed and in the oven for 10 minutes to produce sweet soy sauce. The soybean husk waste biscuits formed from the experimental results were carried out, then analyzed to test the benefits and feasibility. The benefits derived from biscuits from soybean husk waste are very beneficial for lowering blood pressure, out of 25 people suffering from hypertension, 20 people managed to reduce or stabilize blood pressure. Based on the feasibility test of waste soybean husk waste biscuits which were reviewed from the taste and aroma of 25 people suffering from hypertension, more than 50% of people stated that they were feasible to produce. hypertension
