Abstract

Organization is a form of implementing the role of students in the campus world, which is used as a means of self-development for students to improve reasoning and knowledge. Students who organize use various ways to overcome their problems, and are usually good at managing stress. But not all students can overcome the stress experienced while participating in organizations and lectures. Students who tend to experience stress are caused by several factors, namely conflict between roles which causes them to be unable to divide their time between lectures, assignments, and organizations that affect academic grades. The purpose of this research is to find out the perceptions of PPNS students regarding the influence of organizational participation on the lecturing activity of semester 4 PPNS students. The design of this research is a qualitative research using a questionnaire as research material. The sampling technique uses a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling. From our research analysis, it was concluded that the majority of PPNS students joined the organization very well without disturbing their activeness in carrying out lectures on campus, and by participating in PPNS student organizations they had a positive impact in supporting life. However, the majority of PPNS students feel that they are behind in class due to organizational activities that finish at night after class, so students do not have time to study further material. Beside that, the majority of students feel sleep deprived, which is caused by many lecture assignments and organizational activities that finish late at night. Keywords: students, organizations, lecture activity, mental health, stress

Abstract

High cholesterol levels or commonly known as hypercholesterolemia in the blood is one of the triggers for hypertension. This happens with the presence of high cholesterol which is the cause of blockages in the peripheral blood vessels which will reduce the blood supply to a person's heart. Hypercholesterolemia itself is a condition in which the concentration of cholesterol in the blood increases which exceeds or exceeds the normal value that should be. it turns out that orange peel in small quantities contains 30% pectin on a dry basis, pectin itself is a natural substance found in parts of food plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of orange peel as pectin in people with high cholesterol. The method in this research is to use a type of qualitative research method. The research design used was a literature review design. The results of this study indicate that the pectin producer comes from orange peels, pectin itself is a natural ingredient found in most food plants, besides that it is also a structural element in the growth of tissues and the main component of the middle lamella. plant. Abstract

Education positions humans as social beings who interact with one another and makes it the most comfortable place for them (students) to grow and develop to the best of their ability to live in society. Education is basically a process of humanization. This research was conducted to determine the output of humanism values in Indonesian language learning at SMAN 1 Wongsorejo. Humanism education in learning Indonesian can be reflected in various aspects. Data collection in this study used limited questionnaires which were distributed to grade 2 students who received Indonesian language learning. The results of this study are that the value of humanism obtained by each student differs depending on the understanding and influence of oneself and the surrounding environment. The expected value of humanism as the output of learning Indonesian expected by researchers is based on students' perceptions that they have applied humanist values after participating in learning so that Indonesian influences students' views of the values that exist in humanism.  Keywords: Education, Indonesian Language Learning, Humanism

Abstract

Oxygen has the ability to oxidize with contaminants such as organic components so that these contaminants are not harmful. Oxygen is also needed by microorganisms, both aerobic and anaerobic in metabolic processes. This type of research is the observation of the results of the Liquid TAPL practicum which aims to determine the analysis of DO levels in water at the Surabaya State Shipping Polytechnic. In the practicum that has been carried out, namely the analysis of Dissolved Oxygen (DO) which has the aim of determining the level of dissolved oxygen in water. In determining dissolved oxygen levels, it is necessary to pay attention to the method of sampling so that the measured oxygen content is in accordance with that contained in the waste. The Winkler bottle is put into the waste water to fill the bottle and when closing the bottle make sure the bottle is still in the waste water, so that there is no contact between the sample and the air which can cause diffusion of oxygen from the air into the sample. Based on government regulation No. 80 of 2001 it can be seen that the sample water used is classified as safe from the DO content present in the water, which is 72 mgO2/L. The water is classified as safe to use. Keywords: DO, Dissolved Oxygen, Water

Abstract

Banana trees are included in the Musaceae family, which are herbaceous plants that bear fruit in the tropics. Banana stems are divided into two types, namely true stems and pseudo stems. Most of this banana tree fiber waste is wasted without any initiative from the community to be reprocessed. Natural fiber reinforced composites have the following advantages: light weight, corrosion resistance, water resistance and attractive performance. The aim is to use natural fibers as an alternative material to replace fiber composite materials with banana tree fibers which are more environmentally friendly. Processing of banana tree fiber is washing with water, drying with the help of sunlight for 7 days, and taking fiber manually by cutting it into smaller sizes. Banana trees have a water content composition of 10-15%. Dried banana tree fiber was chemically treated with 10%, 20%, 30% NaOH and ethanol solutions with variations in soaking time of 2, 4, 6 hours, and drying at room temperature. The single fiber test specimen refers to ASTM D 3379 standard. Keywords: Banana tree fiber, composite, fiber tensile strength, specimen

Abstract

The PPNS (Surabaya State Shipbuilding Polytechnic) Test Pool is a pool used to test the feasibility of various kinds of works that have been made by PPNS students. Due to the increase in human activities that occur, it can cause various kinds of problems, one of which is water pollution. Heavy metals are declared as very dangerous pollutants because of their non-degradable nature (Damaianto & Masduqi, 2014). Heavy metals in the waters are actually also needed by aquatic biota in the metabolic process but in small doses, one of which is heavy metal copper (Cu) which will pollute if the levels are excessive in the waters. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyse the content of heavy metal copper (Cu) as a benchmark and parameter and compare the concentration of Cu with the maximum level in the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021. Analysis of copper (Cu) heavy metal content was carried out by uv-vis spectrophotometric method using 25% ammonia additives and 1% Na - diethyldithiocarbomate. The standard solution and samples that have received the treatment are continued with absorbance and concentration measurements using a spectrophotometer. Based on the results of the study, the average level of heavy metal copper (Cu) contained in the PPNS Test Pool sample water is 1.70 mg/l. Where Cu heavy metal pollution is very high and does not meet the quality standards in Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021 with the maximum level of copper heavy metal (Cu) is 0.02 mg/l. Abstract

Every activity carried out will produce waste, this results in high generation in Indonesia. The amount of waste generated needs to be processed in order to reduce the number of pollutions to the environment. Waste treatment basically uses the 3R principle, namely reduce, reuse, and recycle. One way of processing organic waste is by recycling it into compost. The composting process can occur naturally in the open, but the composting process will decompose more quickly if microorganisms are added to it. In this study, the composting process used black fly larvae or commonly called black soldier fly (BSF) larvae to simplify and speed up the process of decomposing organic waste into compost. The purpose of this study is to determine the quality of organic waste fertilizer produced from composting using BSF larvae. Composting organic waste using BSF was carried out for 15 days in a reactor box. A total of 5000 grams of composted organic waste produces 550 grams of compost with a reduced percentage of 11%. The resulting compost has a characteristic blackish brown color, smell and texture resembling soil, temperature 29°C, pH 5.5, water content contained in the compost is 11% and C content in the compost is 55.21%. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the characteristics of compost produced from composting using BSF larvae for pH and C content parameters do not meet the quality standards for compost from organic waste in SNI 19-7030-2004 concerning Specifications for compost from domestic organic waste. Keywords: BSF, organic waste, compost.

Abstract

The PPNS (Surabaya State Shipping Polytechnic) electrical engineering laboratory is a laboratory used by practitioners or students to carry out college learning activities that are closely related to electricity. Activities carried out by practitioners will of course expend energy which can later result in fatigue and even dehydration, so it is necessary to conduct an analysis of exposure to the work climate in the practicum area. The definition of work climate according to Davis (2002:21) says that work climate is defined as the human environment in which workers or organizations do work and its existence is something that cannot be touched or seen but is there. Therefore, this research was conducted to create comfortable conditions or atmosphere for practitioners to carry out learning activities in the PPNS electrical machine laboratory. A comfortable work environment can increase productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of work and reduce occupational diseases (NAB).

Abstract

The increase in population in Indonesia is directly proportional to existing economic activities. The main need that every human needs is food, so many food industries continue to develop. One of these industries is the tofu making industry. Many of these industries result in several problems such as unpleasant odors from waste and damage to the water ecosystem in rivers. On the other hand, the use of water hyacinth is still lacking, even though if used optimally it can be used as an ecosystem controller in water. Therefore, researchers made an innovation by using water hyacinth as a pH neutralizer and odor remover in tofu dregs liquid waste. This research method is an experiment using data from journals and the internet. Data processing is descriptive in the form of data results that are compared with materials used every day.
