Abstract

UD Fafa Mutiara is a business entity that produces petis as its main product. Products that are considered defective or cannot be repaired and recycled again, will be detrimental to business actors. It is estimated that in each product there are an average of 70 plastic products that are damaged, defective, or even fail, out of 5,000 plastics every month. In a day, Mrs. Ulfa can produce around 175 plastic cases which must be marketed the next day. The purpose of this research is to find out strategies that can improve the quality of UD Fafa Mutiara's petis. One way to find several problems in failure during the petition manufacturing process is known as the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis method, which is abbreviated as FMEA. This method is used to identify potential failures that may occur in the design, production process, or production results. AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) has a meaning as a functional hierarchy with the main input being human presumption, which has many advantages in explaining the decision-making process. The research results obtained were that the highest level of risk in the paste production process was when washing raw materials using dirty water with an RPN value of 448. The strategy of using AHP resulted in suggestions for improvements with the highest value, namely checking water with a value of 0.366. So the recommendation that can be given to UD Fafa Mutiara is to maintain the quality of the water used for washing raw materials. Highlight : Identification of potential failures: FMEA method helps identify possible failures in design and production processes. Decision-making process: AHP involves human input to explain decision-making processes effectively. Risk mitigation strategy: Maintaining water quality during raw material washing is crucial for improving product quality. Keywords - Petis; production defects; Failure Mode And Effect Analysis (FMEA); Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

Abstract

Health plasters are one of a pharmaceutical company's excellent items. There are still defective products in the manufacturing process, including torn paper, joint 1, not cut, perforated edges, joint 2, tucked, long-short, and asymmetrical. Research conducted between June and December 2021 reveals that 192.960 Kg of substandard items were discovered. The contribution of this research is to identify the underlying reasons of the problem and decrease the number of product faults. By using the QCDSME (Quality-Cost-Delivery-Safety-Morale) method analysis in the cost stage, this company is known to experience losses due to defective products of IDR 18,047,232 / year. The results of the analysis using the six sigma method at the analyze stage using the fishbone diagram tool are known that defective products are caused by the absence of size standards in the repair of plate and pressure roll positions, differences in operator responses, the absence of written procedures for handling product defects, and the existence of product roll rolls that are too loose or tight. The improvement proposal made next is to make a size standard for the plate position with a value of 12.5 ± 1 cm and a pressure roll with a value of 22 ± 1 mm with additional tools in the form of a ruler. After taking corrective steps and quality control on product defects, the results showed that the value of product defects decreased from the previous average of 1,119 pcs/day to 205 pcs/day, so that the company's loss value was reduced to IDR 3,306,240/year.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to map the circular economy potential based on by-products from the livestock and agricultural sectors in Gendro Village, Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency. The method used is a participatory approach (Participatory Rural Appraisal / PRA) through field observations, interviews, and focus group discussions with local farmers and ranchers. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively to identify waste potential, its economic value, and opportunities for integration between sectors. The mapping results showed that out of 17 dairy farmers with a total of 117 cows, the average milk production reached ±2,800 liters per day, while cow manure waste reached 3.5 tons per day. About 60% of farmers have utilized this waste into organic fertilizer or biogas, while the rest is still disposed of into waterways. On the other hand, from 12 farmers with a total land area of 6.6 hectares, the harvest yield was around 90 tons per planting season, with agricultural waste reaching 80 tons. The ratio of waste to crop yield reaches 89%, indicating high potential for processing into value-added products such as compost, liquid fertilizer, and fermented feed. The integration of these two sectors demonstrates a natural closed-loop system at the village level, where agricultural waste can be used as feed, and livestock manure becomes organic fertilizer for agricultural land. The implementation of this circular economy model has the potential to generate additional economic value of IDR 45–60 million per year, reduce production costs by 20–30%, and reduce environmental pollution. Thus, Gendro Village has a great opportunity to be developed as a pilot village for a circular economy based on an integrated agroecosystem that supports food security and environmental sustainability
