Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused various activities to be shifted online, one of which is learning activities at school. Because they don't have their own e-learning information system, online learning activities at SMA Tunas Bangsa Palembang utilize various media such as Classrooms to create classes, Google Forms to fill absences, and YouTube to deliver material. Lots of media and there are still perceived shortcomings related to the features of the media used cause the implementation of learning activities become less effective and efficient. Thus, to provide comfort and convenience in these learning activities, an e-learning information system user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design is required. This study uses design thinking as a method that has 5 stages, starting with problem exploration (empathize) to testing the solution design prototype (test). Prototype testing is carried out using the usability testing method, using task scenarios and the System Usability Scale (SUS) and User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) questionnaires. The results of usability testing using SUS task scenarios and questionnaires include aspects of learnability and efficiency of teacher and student user groups, namely 100% and 0.04 goals/sec, for teacher user satisfaction aspects is 93 with grade scale "A" and for student users is 85 with a grade scale of “B”, the UEQ assessment scores for the two user groups were above 2.0 in all rating categories namely “Attractives”, “Perspicuity”, “Efficiency”, “Dependability”, “Stimulation”, “Novelty”. So, it can be concluded that the e-learning prototype design has had a good user experience.

Abstract

The Academic Information System (SIMAK) at Sriwijaya University plays a crucial role in facilitating student academic activities; however, it faces several technical issues that affect user satisfaction, including server outages and challenges in data access. This dissatisfaction serves as a vital metric for evaluating the system's effectiveness. This study aims to analyze student sentiment regarding SIMAK utilizing the Naïve Bayes method. A total of 92 tweets were gathered from Twitter through web scraping, which were then categorized into manually labeled training and test datasets for model validation. The data underwent processing that included text cleaning and the application of Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) to assess the significance of words within a collection of documents. The evaluation results indicated that the model achieved an accuracy of 65%, with a precision of 63% for negative sentiment and a recall of 100%. In contrast, positive sentiment exhibited a low precision of 12.5% and an F1-score of 22.2%, highlighting difficulties in identifying positive sentiment due to data imbalance. The model demonstrated greater effectiveness in identifying user grievances, particularly concerning server disruptions, data delays, and challenges in completing Study Plan Cards and accessing grades. These findings provide valuable insights for SIMAK maintainers to enhance system reliability and user experience. Future research should aim to broaden data coverage and explore alternative analytical methods to yield more representative outcomes.

Abstract

Rewards are carried out by the faculty as an effort to motivate lecturer performance. The obstacle is that the system has not accommodated all lecturer performance on the required indicators, the supporting files are also a problem, and the final results of many performance scores are the same, potentially due to subjective decision-making. There is no scientific formulation, no common standard, and no direct file collection system as the cause. The research method used is identifying problems and collecting data, analyzing data, designing decision support systems, and making prototypes. The research objective is to apply the analytical hierarchical process method to the application of a decision support system for determining lecturer rewards.  The contribution of research on performance-based criteria instruments applied to dynamic applications in determining indicators, so that they can be adjusted to the performance report indicators of higher education institutions. The results are in the form of lecturer performance criteria weights based on key performance. The highest lecturer performance ranking is 0.0880, the second is 0.067, and the third is 0.0663, with detailed lecturer performance scores for each criterion. These digital files can be used at any time, helping management make objective and transparent decisions.

Abstract

Indonesia’s rapid e-commerce growth has produced a vast volume of user reviews, yet their use for insight extraction remains limited—particularly for the Bukalapak platform. This study compares the performance of Naïve Bayes and Support Vector Machine for sentiment classification on 10,000 Bukalapak reviews. The workflow includes text preprocessing (cleaning, case folding, tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming) and feature extraction using Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF; max_features = 10,000). Evaluation employs 10-fold cross-validation with accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, complemented by a paired t-test for significance. Results show SVM outperforming NB (accuracy 84.48% vs. 83.96%; F1 0.8253 vs. 0.8205) with better consistency (standard deviation ±1.08% vs. ±1.24%). The t-test confirms a significant difference (p = 0.019), with SVM’s advantage most evident for the negative class (precision 0.80 vs. 0.78). Both models underperform on the neutral class due to severe class imbalance. These findings provide empirical evidence for algorithm selection in Indonesian e-commerce sentiment analysis and open avenues for future research using deep learning and class-imbalance handling techniques.

Abstract

The issue of waste dumping persists a significant challenge in Indonesia, particularly in the context of South Sumatra Province. In 2022, the quantity of unmanaged waste in South Sumatra Province was documented at 521,075 tons per year. In the course of 2024, South Sumatra was subjected to a total of 58 floods. This illustrates that flooding remains a significant challenge that necessitates the development of innovative solutions, as it can impede the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those pertaining to SDG 11, namely the maintenance of sustainable cities and communities. The act of discarding refuse into air ducts represents a significant contributing factor to the occurrence of flood disasters. Accordingly, this research was undertaken with the objective of designing an interface for the Jagoan Sungai application, which is intended to prevent waste dumping. The application was designed with the specific purpose of facilitating the reporting of instances of littering in river environments by individual communities. The application was designed using the Goal Directed Design method and subsequently evaluated using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) method and the Think Aloud method. The UEQ test results indicate that the scores for the six scales exceed 0.8, indicating a high level of user satisfaction. The Think Aloud test results demonstrate that while no significant improvements are necessary, additional information should be incorporated into the application to enhance the user experience further.
