Abstract

Muhammad Sabki City Forest Park (THKMS) is generally used as an educational tourism area. Organisms that have not been identified in the THKMS area include longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae). Longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae) are a type of insect that in its larval phase lives on rotting wood that will dry out. Longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae) are spread across several primary and secondary forests, to degraded forests, so that Cerambycidae can be used as environmental bioindicators. Collection of longhorn beetle samples (Cerambycidae) was carried out using purposive random sampling. Sampling was carried out in two utilization zones in the THKMS area, namely the moderate utilization zone and the low utilization zone. Longhorn beetle samples (Cerambycidae) were taken using the jackfruit branch trap method (Artocarpus trap) with 10 Artocarpus traps installed in each zone, and the determination of the trap location was carried out randomly. The result shows there are several species of longhorn beetles that are only found at certain stations. There are 8 species of longhorn beetles that can be found at both stations. The species that are only found at station 1 (low utilization zone) are 1 (Sybra sp.) and the species that are only found at station 2 (moderate utilization zone) are 3 species (Acalolepta rusticatrix, Acalolepta sp. and Pterolophia sp.3). Each genus has its own characteristics of morphology so that it can be distinguished based on morphological characters.

Abstract

Waste management has become a central issue due to the growing population and the increasing amount of unmanaged waste. This management should be implemented across all aspects of life, from small to large scales. At the smaller scale, waste management is introduced starting from schools, where values are instilled in students that they will carry into adulthood. The habit of managing waste from an early age is expected to become a positive practice in the future. State Senior High School (SMA N) 3 Muaro Jambi is a well-regarded Senior High School in Jambi Province, holding an A accreditation. Currently, SMA N 3 Muaro Jambi does not have an effective waste management system, particularly for organic waste. Additionally, the school is planning to implement the Adiwiyata program, which includes waste management as one of its key points. This community service activity is carried out in three stages: a survey and analysis of the waste problems, socialization of organic waste management into liquid organic fertilizer as an environmentally friendly solution, and practical training in organic waste management. It is hoped that this activity will provide students with knowledge that can lead to business development, serve as a benchmark for other schools in Jambi Province, and help fulfill the requirements for the Adiwiyata program.

Jumlah spesies setiap stasiun 1 (8 spesies), Stasiun 2 (16 spesies), (29 spesies), stasiun 4( 18 spesies).

Abstract

Abstract

In community life, cultural elements play a crucial role as guidelines for social order. The culture applied in society extends beyond objects to behavior, attitudes, attitudes toward nature, and even the management of nature itself. One of Jambi Province's abundant natural resources is its fish biodiversity. The Batanghari River has a significant impact on both fish diversity and culture. This cultural connection to fish remains deeply embedded in the community to this day. Furthermore, fish folklore is also found, which is beneficial for fish conservation. Ethnoscience is not merely a cultural knowledge; it is also an intangible heritage of Jambi Province. Therefore, ethnoscience and fish biodiversity are interconnected. Ethnoscience and fish biodiversity are now integrated into a single information system, the Jambi Fish Biodiversity Information System (BERIKAN JAMBI) https://ikanjambi.unja.ac.id/. This integrated information system contains information about the fish found in the Batanghari River. The socialization and application workshop given to the Guci Emas awareness group in Muaro Pijoan Village aims to provide knowledge and understanding regarding the Berikan Jambi information system in supporting ethnoscience studies of the community in the area and as a conservation step through the fostered group, so that it can make it easier for the community to obtain information about local folklore regarding certain fish.

Abstract

Lakes are among the most complex aquatic ecosystems, as they support a wide variety of organisms. One of the organisms commonly found in lake ecosystems is the dragonfly (Order Odonata). Ecologically, dragonflies play important roles, including acting as predators in the food chain that help regulate insect populations and serving as bioindicators of water quality. The presence and diversity of dragonflies are closely related to environmental conditions, particularly water quality and surrounding vegetation. This study aims to examine the species diversity of dragonflies in the Tun Telanai Lake area at Jambi University. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, involving direct observation and identification of dragonfly species found in the study area. The results of the identification revealed the presence of three dragonfly families comprising a total of ten species. The family Libellulidae was the most dominant, represented by seven species, followed by the family Gomphidae with two species, and the family Coenagrionidae with one species. The calculation of the Shannon–Wiener diversity index (H’) yielded a value of 1.29, which falls within the moderate diversity category. This result indicates that the habitat conditions and aquatic ecosystem of Tun Telanai Lake are relatively stable and capable of supporting dragonfly populations.
