Abstract

Penggunaan insektisida dalam pengendalian hama telah menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif terutama terjadinya kerusakan ekosistem pertanaman. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi penggunaan insektisida kimia sintetis adalah dengan memanfaatkan bahan tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai pestisida nabati. Tumbuhan bunga mentega (Nerium oleander Linn.) memiliki potensi sebagai insektisida nabati karena mengandung zat oleandrin yang dapat bekerja sebagai racun perut dan penghambat daya makan larva. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak daun bunga mentega N. oleander pada pertanaman bawang merah verietas Lembah Palu Allium cepa var. aggregatum terhadap padat populasi dan intensitas serangan hama ulat bawang Spodoptera exigua dan hasil produksi bawang merah di lahan kering. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2018 sampai bulan Februari 2019. di Desa Sidera, Kecamatan Sigi Biromaru Kabupaten Sigi, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 perlakuan yaitu K0: tanpa ekstrak, K1: ekstrak N. oleander 2,69 g/L, K2: ekstrak N. oleander 5,38 g/L, K3: ekstrak N. oleander 10,75 g/L, K4: ekstrak N. oleander 21,5 g/L, dan K5: ekstrak N. oleander 43,0 g/L. Variabel pengamatan meliputi padat populasi dan intensitas serangan ulat bawang S. exigua dan produksi bawang merah. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varians yang dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 43,0 g/L menekan populasi dan intensitas serangan larva S. exigua masing-masing sebesar 1,58 ekor menjadi 0,71 ekor dan 2,79% menjadi 0,71%. Produksi yang dicapai meningkat pada perlakuan K5 yakni dari 4,97 t/ha menjadi 8,67 t/ha.

Abstract

Zero waste agriculture is an agricultural concept oriented around the decomposition cycle of organic materials which integrates agricultural and livestock systems to reprocess waste material. Agricultural waste is used as animal feed while livestock waste/excrement is reprocessed into organic fertilizers. The Regional Partnership Service Program (PKW) aims to assist farmers in developing integrated farming businesses based around zero waste agriculture. PKW was held between May and July 2021 in Tindaki Village, South Parigi District, Parigi Moutong Regency. The implementation of this regional partnership program was carried out through a Participatory Action Programs approach, where partners are directly involved in the adoption and application of the various skills that had been developed. The procedure for activity implementation was carried out through several stages, namely: (a) counseling on zero waste agriculture, (b) training in and application of zero waste agriculture technology in the form of demonstration plots for the application of technological products, (c) coaching and mentoring, and (d) the utilization stage of technology product. The findings from the implementation concluded that the agricultural development training based on zero waste agriculture was a success, and the technology had been adopted by the community, marked by the ability to make and develop compost and liquid organic bio-urine fertilizers. Both types of organic fertilizers had been applied in the demonstration plots to assess their effectiveness in reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers. Rice production is equivalent to 5.6 tons/ha and 6 tons/ha in conventional land. These results show potential benefits for farmers, particularly regarding lower production costs compared to the usage of conventional land. Zero waste agriculture is a method of farming and livestock raising that utilizes their waste products for energy production.

Abstract

In the development of vegetable farming by the community, there are fundamental problems which are generally carried out conventionally with the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides to determine the success of their farming. With the farming system, the community suffers a lot of losses because the inputs used are relatively expensive and on the other hand the products become cheap because the quality is not guaranteed. The solution to this problem is to develop bio-culture organic fertilizers and bio-urine whose raw materials are available in the region. The partner village development program aims to conduct training on the making and development of liquid organic fertilizer bio-culture and biourine to support the cultivation of organic vegetables. The method of approach applied is technology transfer (TT) and entrepreneurship capacity building (ECB) which is carried out with the Participatory Rural Approach (PRA) approach ) which in its implementation uses the method of lecture/discussion, training, making demo plotting, and assistance. The results achieved in the implementation of this program were that participants were able to make and develop liquid organic bioculture fertilizers and biourin and apply it to their farms as an alternative to chemical fertilizers

Abstract

Palu Valley shallot production is still very low namely 5.31 tonnes/ha when compared to national production which reaches 9.7 tonnes/ha, this is due to the attack of the base stem rot disease caused by Fusarium oxsyporum f.sp. cepae. This study aims to determine the effect of various types of organic fertilizer decomposed by Trichoderma virens on the incidence of stem rot disease and shallot yields. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Pests and Plant Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, and shallot planting in Oloboju Village, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province and lasted from March 2018 to August 2018. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments consisting of, without organic fertilizer (B0), cow manure 10 tons/ha + Trichoderma virens 100g/L (B1), chicken manure 10 tons/ha + T. virens 100g/L (B2), goat manure 10 tons/ha + T. virens 100g/L (B3), and petrogenic 5 tons/ha+ T. virens 100g/L (B4). The results showed that the use of 10 tons/ha cow manure decomposed by T. virens (B1) can reduce the intensity of stem rot disease on the Palu Valley shallot which is 5.61% to be 1.88% (3rd week) and 2.89% to be 0.98% (7th week), and increase shallot yield from 4.09 tons/ha to be 7.48 tons/ ha.

Abstract

The potential of agricultural and livestock resources in Pombewe Village is quite available but not yet optimally utilized by the community. Agricultural land is still largely abandoned and livestock are still left to graze themselves. The problem faced by the community is the lack of skills on how to improve agricultural products. This community empowerment program aims to assist the community in applying the integration of zero waste agriculture techniques. The method applied is community development with activities in the form of counseling, training, demonstration plots and mentoring with output targets is to increase the community's insight, knowledge and skills. The results achieved were an increase in community knowledge and skills characterized by the ability of the community to use agricultural and livestock waste to be economically valuable by making liquid organic fertilizer, compost, and can cultivate forage grass as animal feed

Abstract

The cultivation of rare and or wild medicinal plants is one of the strategies to make it easier when needed and also to produce quality simplicia. The partner village program aims to assist the community in carrying out medicinal plant cultivation. The community service activities were carried out in the conservation area of ​​medicinal plants and in the residents' yards in Pakuli Village and lasted for 4 months, from March 2020 to July 2020. The method applied was counseling and technical guidance. The results of the activities showed that the training and technology demonstration were well implemented and were accepted by the community. Counseling activities increase knowledge that is characterized by increased skills when practicing medicinal plants. Species that are cultivated in conservation areas are those that grow wild and rare, while in people's yards it is the species most widely used as medicine and which is of economic value.

Abstract

Desa Sidera termasuk salah satu daerah penghasil tanaman sayuran di Kabupaten Sigi yang turut mensuplai kebutuhan masyarakat perkotaan di Palu. Desa Sidera yang sebelumnya dikenal dengan Unit Permukiman Transmigrasi Sidera memiliki lahan 250 ha sebagai areal penanaman sayuran. Kendala yang dihadapi oleh petani di desa tersebut adalah adanya serangan hama dan penyakit sehingga produksi sering mengalami kegagalan. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut program pengabdian desiminasi hasil penelitian menawarkan paket teknologi budidaya yang berorientasi pada peningkatan produktivitas antara lain dengan mengusahakan sarana dan prasarana produksi berbasis kearifan lokal. Program pengabdian diseminasi hasil penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan desiminasi, pembinaan dan pemberdayaan kepada masyarakat dalam mengembangkan ekstrak daun tumbuhan Nerium oleander sebagai pestisida botani/nabati. Target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah meningkatkan kemampuan dan ketrampilan masyarakat dalam menyiapkan sarana pertanian melalui pembuatan dan pengembangan pestisida botani berbasis kearifan lokal. Metode yang diterapkan adalah: pelatihan, demonstrasi dan demplot teknologi, pendampingan serta pembinaan yang dilakukan secara partisipatif. Hasil pelaksanaan program menunjukkan bahwa peserta kegiatan dapat menerima teknologi tersebut dan mengembangkan di lahan usaha taninya

Abstract

Potensi keanekaragaman tumbuhan liar yang bermanfaat sebagai obat-obatan masih banyak diabaikan oleh masyarakat. Permasalahan ini terjadi antara lain karena pengetahuan yang dimiliki masyarakat masih tergolong rendah. Program pengembangan desa mitra bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pertisipasi masyarakat dalam mendukung tercapainya pusat konservasi tumbuhan obat (TO) di Sulawesi Tengah. Metode yang diterapkan adalah community development atau pengembangan masyarakat dengan langkah-langkah operasional adalah pembentukan kebun konservasi dan klinik tumbuhan obat dengan sasaran mengusahakan sebanyak mungkin tumbuhan yang berpotensi sebagai tumbuhan obat tradisional sebagai sumber plasma nutfa agar tidak punah dan menjadi sumber informasi. Hasil pelaksanaan pelatihan teknik konservasi tumbuhan obat untuk mendukung progam penyediaan obat herbal di Sulawesi Tengah kepada masyarakat di Desa Pakuli Kecamatan Gumbasa berlangsung dengan baik dan dapat diadopsi oleh masyarakat yang diindikasikan dengan kegiatan penanaman tumbuhan obat oleh masyarakat di halaman pekarangan rumah masing-masing. Pelaksanaan penyuluhan yang diikuti sebanyak 35 orang peserta dari 2 kelompok mitra dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya ketrampilan pada saat praktek budidaya tumbuhan obat, baik yang dilaksanakan di areal konservasi maupun di lahan pekarangan. Dengan konservasi tumbuhan obat terutama yang tergolong langka, maka masyarakat dapat mendekatkan diri dengan tumbuhan obat langka tersebut untuk kepentingan penyediaan obat herbal bagi anggota keluarganya

Abstract

Shallot growth is strongly influenced by climatic factors and available soil nutrients. By doing appropriate fertilization, the plants will get the nutrients needed. This study aimed to determine the effect of cow urine bioculture (liquid organic fertilizer) rates on shallot growth and yield. The research was conducted in Oloboju village, Sigi Biromaru sub district, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province from March to June 2017. The study used a randomized completely design which consisted of with no application of bioculture liquid fertilizer (B0), 250 L ha-1bioculture liquid (B1), 500 L ha-1bioculture liquid (B2) and 750 Lha-1bioculture liquid (B3). Each treatment was replicated four times, so there were 16 experimental units. Each unit of experiment consisted of 260 plants so that a total of 4160 plants were grown. The results showed that the bioculture liquid fertilizer applied at the rate of 750 L ha-1 resulted in significantly higher plant height, bulb diameter, bulb water content, number of tillers per hill, fresh weight of bulb,  bulb bulk weight, dry weight of plant and bulb yield per hectare compared to the other treatments. Adding the bioculture liquid fertilizer at the rate of  750 L ha-1  produced  shallot bulb of  9.27 ton ha-1.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to evaluate bioactive compound contents of the ”Sidondo” plant (Vitex negundo L.) especially those compound that are potentially used as botanical pesticide and to test the plant extract influence on tested Spodoptera exigua and Plutella xylostella larvae mortality and toxicity. This study was conducted in Plant Protection and Biotecnology Laboratories, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University from March to October 2008. Results of the study indicated that     crude extract of the V. negundo could kill both S. exigua and P. xylostella larvae. The highest mortality rate for S. exigua (32%) was found when the plant was extracted with ethanol and for P. xylostella (27%) was seen with methanol extraction. The effective extract concentration was 0.3% for S. exigua and 0.2% for                               P. xylostella.  The extract sub-lethal concentration (LC50) was 0.49% for S. exigua and 0.42% for P. xylostella.  The extract of V.  negundo contained Saponin which could be used as a botanical insecticide active ingredient
