Abstract

Mangrove forest is one of the ecosystems in the coastal area that plays an important role as a habitat for iktiofauna, one of which is the gelodok fish community. The purpose of this study was to compare the community structure of mudskippers at Bahak Indah Coast, Tongas, Probolinggo with or without mangrove vegetation. The study was conducted in January–February 2022. The determination of the observation station was carried out purposively, which was determined based on the presence or absence of mangrove vegetation. Observation of the mudskipper community used a systematic sampling method with the help of transects and plots. The analyzed mudskipper community structure data included diversity index, uniformity index and dominance index. The results found 4 species from 2 genera of mudskipper namely Boleophthalmus pectinirostris, Boleophthalmus boddarti, Periophthalmus chrysospilos and Periophthalmodon schlosseri. Mudskipper diversity index at both stations was in the medium category, and was higher at the stations with mangrove vegetation. The uniformity index was included in the high category, and was higher at the stations with mangrove vegetation, and the dominance index was in the low category, and lower at the stations with mangrove vegetation. The results of this study indicate that the coastal waters area with mangrove vegetation contributes to the high diversity and uniformity of the mudskipper community compared to areas without mangrove vegetation.

Abstract

Bonylip barb (Osteochilus vittatus) is one of Indonesia's local fish which is starting to bloom in cultivation. One of the important needs in the development of fish farming is feed, to increase feed efficiency by providing probiotics which play a role in increasing growth, survival rates, digestibility, feed efficiency, the immune system and the composition of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract of fish. This study aims to compare the concentration of different probiotics in commercial feed on the growth and survival of barley nilem (Osteochilus vittatus). The research was conducted at Pandaan Aquaculture Installation (IPB), Pasuruan Regency, East Java. Experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. Statistical analysis to compare growth performance (length and weight) and survival of nilem fish used analysis of variance (ANOVA) test. The results showed that there were differences in the growth of weight, length, and survival of barley nilem (Osteochilus vittatus) on commercial feed with different concentrations of probiotics. Where there is a tendency that the higher the concentration of probiotics in commercial feed, the higher the growth in length and weight and survival of nilem fish (O. vittatus).

Abstract

Udang Vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) dinilai sebagai varietas unggul, meskipun demikian mengetahui paramater kualitas air sangat dibutuhkan, sehingga peran air yang sangat penting patut dijaga sesuai kebutuhan udang vaname. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasai nilai parameter kualitas air udang vaname meliputi suhu, pH, salinitas, oksigen terlarut, nitrit, amonia, warna air, kecerahan air di UPT. BAPL (Budidaya Air Payau dan Laut) Bangil. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode survey partisipatoris dan wawancara. Hasil pengukuran parameter kualitas air pada udang vaname yang sesuai pada Day Of Culture 5 – 12 hari yaitu suhu, pH, oksigen terlarut, salinitas, nitrit, warna air dan parameter kualitas air yang tidak sesuai yaitu amonia. Sedangkan pada Day Of Culture 85 – 93 hari yang sesuai yaitu suhu, pH, oksigen terlarut, salinitas, warna air dan parameter kualitas air yang tidak sesuai yaitu kecerahan air. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran kecerahan dan amonia tidak memenuhi batas optimal diduga karena tingginya padat tebar dan ekskresi dari udang. Pengukuran parameter kualitas air secara berkala dapat memungkinkan mengatisipasi dampak terhadap udang vaname berakibat terhadap tingkat produktivitas. Dalam mengatasi fluktuasi parameter lingkungan perlu dilakukan, pergantian air, penyiponan, dan pemberian probiotik secara berkala.

Abstract

Ikaln Nilem (Osteochilus vittatus) merupalkaln salah saltu jenis ikan konsumsi yang dalam beberapa tahun terakhir ini dikategorikan sebagai jenis ikan budidaya karena diharapkan menjadi komoditas untuk program ketahanan pangaln nasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara parameter kulaitas air dengan sintasan dan pertumbuhaln Ikan Nilem pada media dengan pemberian pakan yang berbeda. Metode yalng digunalkaln adalah metode eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara parameter lingkungan dengan sintasan dan pertumbuhan Ikan Nilem, dimana kuallitals air masih dalam kisaran optimum baik pH, suhu dan DO sehingga mampu menunjang sintasan dan pertumbuhan ikan dengan baik. pH memiliki hubungan negatif yang sangat kuat dengan sintasan, pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot benih Ikan Nilem, sedangkan nilai suhu memilki hubungan negatif lemah terhadap sintasan, pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot. Sebaliknya nilai oksigen terlarut memiliki hubungan positif kuat dengan sintasan, dan sangat kuat dengan pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot Ikan Nilem.

Abstract

Salah satu aspek yang memengaruhi keberhasilan kegiatan pembenihan adalah pengendalian hama dan penyakit ikan, baik penyakit menular atau infeksi maupun penyakit non infeksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui spesies jamur pathogen pada Ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Pengamatan pada sampel ikan secara makroskopik dan mikroskopik. Sampel ikan yang digunakan berukuran 3-5 cm. Hasil penelitian jenis jamur yang menyerang Ikan Nila adalah Saprolegnia sp. dengan ciri-ciri makroskopis adanya selaput putih mirip kapas pada sirip dan permukaan kulit. dan ciri mikroskopik terlihat bahwa hifa memiliki kantung spora berbentuk bulat dan sebagian agak lonjong. Saprolegnia sp. menyerang bagian sirip punggung dan operculum ikan nila. Untuk meminimalisir kemungkinan jamur menginfeksi ikan, maka perlu dilakukan pemantauan parameter kualitas air secara berkala.

Abstract

The utilization of organic waste in Indonesia has not been fully optimized, but one technique that can be used is bioconversion, which involves the use of organisms such as the maggot black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) to convert the waste. Organic waste sources, such as molasses and tofu dregs, can be used for this purpose. The aim of this study was to investigate the growth of BSF maggots using molasses and tofu dregs media. A completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and six replications was used, including a control treatment using fruit and vegetable waste (P0), 100% molasses (P1), 50% molasses and 50% tofu dregs (P2), and 100% tofu dregs (P3). The data were analyzed using the SPSS program, and the results indicated that the P0 treatment produced the highest weight and length of 0.13 grams and 17 millimeters, respectively. Further analysis using DMRT showed that P0 was the best medium for maggot growth. The treatment with the highest maggot nutritional content was P0, with 9.57% protein and 5.99% fat. The treatment with the highest carbohydrate content was P2, at 22.04%. Future research can investigate other media and ratios to further optimize the growth of the maggot black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens).Keywords: growth, fruit and vegetable waste, maggot, molasses, tofu dregs

Abstract

Glodok fish (mudskipper) is a member of the amphibian fish group that uses its tail fin as a tool for movement, both in water and on land. The aim of this study was to compare the skeleton structure and the number of tail fin bones of Boleophthalmus boddarti and Periophthalmus chrysospilos. The sampling location is in Banyuurip Mangrove Center (BMC), Ujungpangkah District, Gresik Regency. The research was carried out in December 2020-January 2021 at the Unisma FMIPA Laboratory. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with purposive sampling and Alizarin red staining. The results showed that there was no difference in the tail fin skeleton structure of the two species. The modification of the caudal fins of the two species was shown by widening in the second and third spine hemalis and neural spine. The number of caudal fin bones of B. boddarti is the preural centrum os, two epural bones, the parhypural os, five hypural os, and lepidotrichia with two types of fin radius, namely 3 un-segmented and unbranched fin radii and 17 radii segmented and branched. In P. chrysospilos, there are eight cenrum preural os, two epural os, parhypural os, five hypural os, and lepidotrichia with two types of caudal fin radius, namely 3 un-segmented and unbranched fingers and 14 segmented and branched fingers. Abstract

Tanaman sayur kangkung darat (Ipomoea reptans Poir) dan pakcoy (Brassica rapa Linnaeus) merupakan komoditas sayuran yang banyak digemari oleh masyarakat untuk dikonsumsi. Bagi masyarakat perkotaan dapat memanfaatkan lahan sempit untuk dapat membudidayakan sayur mayur seperti kangkung dan pakcoy menggunakan sistem akuaponik yang dapat diintegrasikan dengan budidaya ikan skala rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan kangkung dan pakcoy pada sistem budidaya akuaponik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dengan 2 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan yaitu A(kangkung) dan B (pakcoy). Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dalam bentuk histogram dari hasil pengamatan kondisi fisik tanaman kangkung (Ipomoea raptans) dan pakcoy (Brassica rapa) yang meliputi; tinggi tanaman, banyak daun, dan panjang daun serta grafik dari hasil pengamatan kondisi kualitas air pemeliharaan yang meliputi; suhu, pH, dan amonia. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan kangkung pada variabel tinggi tanaman, banyak daun, dan panjang daun pada sistem akuaponik menunjukkan hasil yang lebih optimal dibanding pakcoy.
