Abstract

Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a freshwater fishery commodity that has commercial value. Very fast growth and has a distinctive meat taste make tilapia so popular with people both in Indonesia and abroad. However, a decrease in water quality can affect growth, including the hatchability of tilapia eggs. This study aims to determine the effect of water quality given papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya) with different doses on the hatchability of nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) eggs. The method used is the experimental method. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the effect of water quality on the hatchability of Nile tilapia eggs. The research results obtained were temperatures ranging from 25.1 to 27.50C, for pH ranging from 6.1 to 8.53, and for DO ranging from 5.16 to 6.70 and still within optimal limits for the hatching and growth of Nile tilapia eggs (Oreochromis niloticus). The research results found that temperature and pH had a small effect on the hatchability of Nile tilapia eggs, respectively 16.79% and 16.44%, while dissolved oxygen had a large effect on the hatchability of fish eggs, a value of 86.21. %.

Abstract

Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the economically important fish to be cultivated. Although tilapia is able to adapt to changes in environmental conditions, tilapia is a fish that is sensitive to pollutant exposure. Exposure to various types of pollutants has been reported to have caused death and physiological disturbances in tilapia. This study aims to analyze the effect of several water quality parameters (temperature, pH, DO, and turbidity) fed facultative pond waste water with different processing stages on the hatchability of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) eggs. The method used was the experimental method using RAL (completely randomized design) with 4 treatments. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications with treatment A (facultative pond water 1 with high turbidity level), treatment B (1 liter facultative pond water 4). with medium turbidity level), C treatment (1L of facultative 6 pool water with low turbidity level) and D treatment (1L of water from Ngsong Village). Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to determine the effect of water quality on hatchability of tilapia eggs and their correlation. The results of water quality obtained during observations on temperature parameters ranged from 21-27ºC with a pH ranging from 4.91-7.91, DO ranging from 3.52-5.65 and turbidity ranging from 1.9-0.5. Water quality parameters including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen have different effects on the hatchability of tilapia (Orecohromis niloticus) eggs. Temperature has a significant influence on egg hatchability of 53% with a strong positive relationship. pH and DO have a small weak effect on the hatchability of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) eggs of 0.15 and 0.25 respectively with a weak positive relationship. Meanwhile, turbidity has a large effect, namely 73% on egg hatching, with a strong negative relationship. This means that increasing temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen tend to increase egg hatchability, while increasing turbidity will reduce the hatchability of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) eggs.

Abstract

Delays in hatching of fish eggs are influenced by several factors such as water quality instability during rearing, including; temperature, DO, pH. Papaya leaf is one of the plants that can be used to accelerate the hatchability of fish eggs. Papaya itself can be used as a component to boost the immune system because it contains the enzyme papain. The purpose of this study was to compare the hatchability of nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) eggs in the treatment of papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya) with different doses. This research was conducted at the Punten Cultivation Fisheries Installation, Batu City in December 2022. Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) where there were 4 treatments, namely: A) papaya leaf extract 4 mL/L, B) papaya leaf extract 6 mL/L, C ) papaya leaf extract 10 mL/L, and D) control without treatment. In each treatment there were 3 repetitions. The ANOVA test was used to compare the effect of papaya leaf extract on hatchability of tilapia eggs, and was followed up with the BNT test if there were significant differences in the treatments. The results showed that there were significant differences in the treatment with the addition of papaya leaf extract on the hatchability of tilapia eggs, with 4 mL/L treatment) being the best treatment in increasing the hatchability percentage of tilapia eggs by 88.33%. There is a tendency that the higher the papaya leaf extract, the egg hatchability decreases.

Abstract

Instalasi Pengolahan Limbah Tinja (IPLT) Supit Urang adalah instalasi pengolahan lumpur tinja yang dirancang untuk mengolah lumpur inja dengan menurunkan kandungan senyawa organik agar sesuai kadar baku mutu. Limbah yang tidak diolah dengan benar dapat mencemari lingkungan. Berdasarkan parameter kualitas air yang baik adalah yang mengandung cukup kadar oksigen terlarutnya. Pengambilan sampel air limbah untuk pengmatan dilakukan secara purposive pada kolam wetland. Oksigen terlarut diukur menggunakan DO meter, dan untuk Nitrat dan nitrit menggunaka reagen (water test kit). Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dalam bentuk table dan grafik. Hasil pengamatan mendapatkan oksigen terlarut dan nitrat sesuai dengan sstandar baku mutu air, sedangkan nitrit melebihi standar baku mutu air.

Abstract

Kualitas air menjadi salah satu persoalan dalam budidaya ikan skala massal, termasuk budidaya ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus), karena penurunan kualitas air akan berdampak pada terganggunya pertumbuhan ikan, dan ikan akan mudah terserang penyakit yang pada akhirnya berpotensi mengalami gagal panen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kualitas air terhadap laju pertumbuhan ikan nila. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode eksperimental. Parameter yang diamati adalah laju pertumbuhan harian ikan nila dan kualitas air yang meliputi suhu, pH dan DO. Data hasil pengukuran dianalisis secara deskriptif dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis regresi untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualitas air terhadap laju pertumbuhan ikan nila. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju pertumbuhan ikan Nila dipengaruhi oleh parameter kualitas air media pemeliharaan. Dari hasil pengamatan kualitas air selama penelitian, parameter kualitas air yang sangat mempengaruhi laju pertumbuhan ikan nila adalah suhu. Pada suhu yang rendah tingkat pertumbuhan, nafsu makan dan tingkat metabolisme akan menurun, pakan yang dikonsumsi ikan nila tidak optimal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi ikan, namun pakan yang dikonsumsi digunakan untuk mempertahankan hidupnya, sehingga secara tidak langsung mengganggu pertumbuhan ikan nila.

Highlight Research The biodiversity, distribution and capture of eels on Sumbawa Island are traced through local community knowledge There are four types of eels in Sumbawa, namely marmorata, A. celebensis, A. interioris, A. bicolor Eels are found in rivers, dams, estuaries and rice fields Eel is not the main catch Eel fishing by the community is carried out because the hobby of fishing is not for livelihood In general, people do not know about eel conservation in Indonesia   Abstract Eels are an important fishery resource in Indonesia, but information regarding distribution, fishing patterns and utilization has not been well documented in order for it to assist in the management of eel fisheries. One of the areas in Indonesia that uses eels is the Sumbawa Island community. The local community knowledge approach is an important for fisheries management, because it is an inherent component of fishery resources. This is preliminary study of eels in Sumbawa Island. This study aimed to examine the distribution, pattern of fishing, and utilization of eels from knowledge of local communities. Data were taken through in-depth interviews with 166 respondents. The study was conducted from November to December 2021. Interviews were conducted to obtain information and knowledge from local communities about eels (locations where they were eels found, fishing gear used, time, season and, utilization of eel, and community knowledge regarding its protection status). The results showed that the eels are found in dams, rivers, and estuaries. Most eels were caught from November to December in rainy season. Most people catch eels out of a hobby. Fishing rods and stuns are the two main fishing tools used to catch eels. There are three types of eel utilization, namely (1) consumed, (2) distributed to family and neighbors, and (3) marketed. Respondents (83.64%) did not know about the limited protection for several species of eels.

Abstract

Sungai Patrean merupakan salah satu sungai di Sumunep yang aliran sungainya mengaliri Kecamatan Manding, Batuputih, Dasuk, Kecamatan Gapura, dan Kecamatan Kota. Dalam pemanfaatannya, sungai Patrean sering kali digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai aktivitas pertanian, mencuci atau mandi, drainase, dan pembuangan sampah baik organik maupun anorganik. Adanya berbagai aktivitas antropogenik tersebut dapat memberikan beban pencemaran terhadap lingkungan hidup salah satunya yaitu menurunnya kualitas air sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas air pada perairan sungai Patrean Kabupaten Sumenep. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel air dilakukan pada tiga titik yang berpotensi mengalami pencemaran. Analisa data dilakukan secara deskriptif dalam bentuk tabel dengan membandingkan dengan baku mutu kualitas air berdasarkan PP Nomor 22 tahun 2021 tentang Penyelenggaraan Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup. Kondisi kualitas air sungai Patrean Kabupaten Sumenep dilihat dari hasil pengukurannya nilai DO dan COD pada stasiun 1 yaitu 2,74 mg/l dan 51,2 mg/l, nilai COD pada stasiun 3 yaitu 48 mg/l tidak memenuhi baku mutu kaulitas air yang telah ditetapkan. Sementara untuk nilai parameter lainnya masih memenuhi baku mutu. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari hulu ke hilir kualitas air sungai Patrean mengalami peningkatan pada parameter kualitas airnya.

Abstract

Sungai Jilu merupakan salah satu sungai di Kabupaten Malang – Jawa Timur yang melewati Desa Sekarpuro, Desa Cemorokandang, Desa Madyopuro, Desa Sawojajar, Desa Lesanpuro, dan Desa Kedungkandang. Sungai Jilu mempunyai aliran yang mengalir sepanjang tahun, dimana potensinya dimanfaatkan oleh warga sekitar untuk mandi, mencuci, mengairi sawah dan membuang limbah cair pabrik. Berbagai kegiatan tersebut dapat merusak lingkungan sehingga menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan, salah satunya adalah penurunan kualitas air sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kualitas air sungai Jilu saat ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode purposive sampling yang dilakukan pada 5 stasiun dengan aktivitas antropogenik yang berbeda. Analisis data fisikokimia dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan membandingkannya dengan baku mutu air berdasarkan PP No. 22 Tahun 2021 tentang Penyelenggaraan Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup. kondisi kualitas air sungai Jilu berdasarkan parameter fisikokimia masih memenuhi baku mutu yang ditetapkan PP No. 22 Tahun 2021. Nilai TDS, pH, DO, dan BOD sehingga masih aman dan sesuai untuk berbagai kebutuhan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the results between the addition of TOGA combination in feed as an immunomodulator in male chickens. The research method used Factorial Design with 2 treatments namely: P1 treatment (basal feed) and P2 treatment (basal feed mixed with TOGA flour combination). The test animals used 40 roosters with an average weight of 50 g. Each treatment consisted of 20 chickens divided into two groups of 10 chickens each and performed for 30 days. Data analysis using Variety Imprint Test and Least Real Difference Test (BNT). Daily growth (DG) results P1 12.1%> P2 11%. Absolute growth (W) P1 363 g> P2 330 g. Feed consumption (FI) P1 6713.1 g> P2 6636.8 g. Mortality (D) P1 0.15 %> P2 0.0 %. Conclusions from the research results of basal feed can accelerate the growth of chickens, while the combination of TOGA is able to maintain 0 % survival compared to basal feed by 0.15 %. The benefits of giving a combination of TOGA mixed with feed are thought to be a natural immunomodulator for roosters

Abstract

This research was conducted in Banyuurip Mangrove Center (BMC), Ujung Pangkah-Gresik during July-August 2020. Determination of the observation station purposively based on physical differences in mangrove habitat. Estimation of mangrove and gastrode density by systematic sampling method using belt transects. There were 12 mangrove species with the highest number of species in the coastal mangrove habitat, with the highest species composition and density of Avicennia marina. The highest mangrove density was found in coastal mangrove habitats for all criteria. The number of gastropods found were 2,171 specimens belonging to 15 species, 5 families and 5 orders. The highest number of species, families and orders in coastal mangrove habitat were 1,191 specimens, 11 species from 5 families and 5 orders, the lowest was in estuarine mangrove habitat as many as 980 specimens from 9 species, 2 families and 2 orders. Densities of gastropods differ between mangrove habitats, with the highest density in coastal mangrove habitats and the lowest in estuarine mangrove habitats. The composition and density of the highest gastropods species in the estuary mangrove habitat is Cassidula aurisfelis and in the coastal mangrove habitat is Pirenella cingulata.
