Abstract

Permasalahan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM)  ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan calon guru Ilmu Pengetahuan alam (IPA) program studi pendidikan IPA FMIPA Universitas Negeri Makassar membuat software program simulasi komputer berbasis praktikum laboratorium virtual untuk memahami materi IPA yang bersifat abstrak dan alat-alat laboratoriumnya tidak tersedia. Tujuan Kegiatan ini  untuk: 1) meningkatkan kemampuan calon guru IPA membuat software  program simulasi komputer berbasis  praktikum laboratorium virtual;  2) meningkatkan keterampilan menerapkan software program simulasi komputer berbasis praktikum laboratorium virtual; 3) mengatasi ketidaktersediaan alat-alat laboratorium gelombang dan optik; 4) mengetahui respon para calon guru IPA terhadap pelaksanaan PKM. Solusi/metode pelaksanaan ini terdiri dari 1) persiapan pelaksaanaan; 2) pelaksanaan dan observasi; 3) refleksi; 4) dan monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil dan dampak pelaksanaan PKM: 1) terjadi peningkatan kemampuan peserta PKM membuat software program simulasi komputer berbasis praktikum laboratorium virtual sebesar  99.96%; 2) meningkatkan keterampilan menerapkan software program simulasi komputer berbasis praktikum laboratorium virtual 100%; 3) skor rata-rata pemahaman materi difraksi Fraunhofer dan Fresnell yang abstrak 0.99; 4) 100% produk PKM dapat mengatasi ketidaktersediaan alat-alat difraksi Frounhofer dan Fresnell; 5) respon peserta sangat positif terhadap pelaksanaan PKM, yakni yang menyatakan: sangat bermanfaat 100%; banyak memberi keterampilan 100%; sangat membantu memahami materi difraksi Fraunhofer dan Fresnell yang abstrak 100%. Luaran kegiatan menghasilkan produk program simulasi komputer berbasis praktikum laboratorium virtual yang berkualitas. Kesimpulan: 1) Peserta PKM sudah sangat terampil dalam hal: mengidentifikasi; mendisain; membuat dan menerapkan software  produk program simulasi komputer berbasis praktikum laboratorium virtual; 2) meningkatkan pemahaman materi difraksi Fraunhofer dan Fresnell; 3) software  program simulasi komputer berbasis praktikum laboratorium virtual  dapat mengatasi ketidaktersediaan alat-alat praktikum difraksi Fraunhofer dan Fresnell di laboratorium IPA program studi pendidikan IPA FMIPA Universitas Negeri Makassar; 4) sangat positif respon calon guru IPA pada pelaksanaan PKM.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of sugarcane farmers around Camming Sugar Factory, Bone Regency, in managing agricultural waste into value-added organic compost. The main problems identified were the farmers’ habitual practice of burning sugarcane residues, which negatively impacts the environment, and their limited technical ability to convert waste into useful products. The training was conducted using a participatory training approach that actively involved the community in all stages, including theoretical instruction, hands-on composting practice, and mentoring in the use of appropriate technology such as a sugarcane leaf chopping machine. The program’s effectiveness was evaluated through pre- and post-tests using a Likert-scale questionnaire to assess improvements in participants’ knowledge, technical skills, and attitudes. The results indicated a significant increase in average scores from the “fair” category (3.0) to “excellent” (4.5), with the highest improvement observed in technical composting skills. This program also contributed to reducing open-burning practices, improving soil fertility, and stimulating the development of micro-enterprises in agricultural waste management. Overall, the activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by promoting circular, environmentally friendly, and sustainable agricultural systems.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan guru IPA membuat asesmen yang mampu mengases semua kompetensi yang dimiliki siswa. Tujuan Kegiatan ini untuk: 1) meningkatkan kemampuan guru IPA membuat asesmen kinerja praktikum IPA berbasis higher-order thinking skill (HOTs) di SMP Terbuka di Makassar; 2) respon para guru IPA terhadap pelaksanaan PKM. Solusi/metode pelaksanaan ini terdiri dari 1) persiapan pelaksaanaan; 2) pelaksanaan dan observasi; 3) refleksi; 4) dan monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil dan dampak pelaksanaan PKM: 1) Sangat banyak bahan tersedia; 2) 100% peserta menyatakan sangat bermanfaat; 3) 100% banyak memberi keterampilan; 4) 100% sangat banyak tersedia bahan asesmen kinerja berbasis HOTs, 5) 70% sangat mengatasi kekurangan asesmen kinerja praktikum IPA berbasis HOTs, 20% kurang mengatasi dan 10% banyak mengatasi; 6) 14 % sangat membantu proses belajar mengajar IPA, dan 86% dapat membantu. Luaran kegiatan menghasilkan produk asesmen kinerja berbasis HOTs yang berkualitas. Kesimpulan: Peserta PKM sudah sangat terampil dalam hal:1) mengidentifikasi; mendisain; membuat asesmen kinerja praktikum IPA berbasis HOTs; 2). menggunakan asesmen kinerja praktikum IPA berbasis HOTs; 3) asesmen kinerja praktikum IPA berbasis HOTs dapat mengatasi ketersedian di sekolah dan dapat membantu guru dalam proses asesmen kompetensi efektif dalam meningkatkan proses dan produk asesmen praktikum IPA HOTs siswa sebesar 95% termasuk kategori tinggi.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terlaksana atas kerjasama dengan instansi terkait kepala Desa Gunung Silanu, ketua kelompok Capir, dan LSM lembaga Agro Mandiri Perhutanan Indonesia (Lampion), di Kecamatan Bangkala Kabupaten jeneponto dengan Direktorat Jenderal Perguruan Tinggi, Penelitian dan Pengandian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Negeri Masyarakat .  Jumlah peserta kegiatan  20 orang anggota kelompok Capir dengan tingkat pendidikan Lulusan SD 10%, SMP 36%, dan SMA 54%. Topik  kegiatannya pelatihan pembuatan pupuk kompos. Bentuk kegiatanini, i.e:1) Kerjasama dengan instansi terkait; 2) Observasi lapangan; 3) memberikan penjelasan secara umum maksud dan tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat; 4) mendemonstrasikan cara membuat pupuk kompos dari bahan lingkungan; 5) bimbingan dan pelatihan mengidentifikasi bahan dari lingkungan yang dapat dibuat menjadi pupuk kompos; 6) melatih peserta membuat pupuk kompos; 7) memberikan bimbingan dan pelatihan mengaplikasikan pupuk kompos; 8) melaksanakan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan:1) jumlah rata-rata bahan dari lingkungan yang dibuat menjadi pupuk komopos 500 kg; dan jumlah pupuk kompos dibuat 400kg ( 40 sak); 2) 18 orang (90%) sangat bermanfaat, 2 orang (10%) bermanfaat; 3) 19 orang (95%) sangat terampil; 4) 1 orang (5%) terampil; 5) 100% bahan baku pupuk kompos  tersedia;6) Persentase kandungan unsure hara, yakni nitrogen (0.83-0.95%), posfor (0.35-0.52%, kalium (1.00-1.20%), dan C/N sebesar 32.98%, memenuhi syarat kualitas produk pupuk kompos. Kesimpulan: anggota kelompok capir sudah sangat terampil membuat dan menggunakan pupuk kompos sebagai pupuk organic, sangat bermanfaat, bahan bakunya banyak tersedia di lingkungan, dan produksi pupuk kompos memenuhi syarat kualitas pupuk kompos.

Abstract

Creative thinking can be applied by students in all learning to hone their skills. Initial observations conducted at Sriti Christian Junior High School showed that students still experience limitations in creative thinking, so that students have difficulty in understanding the learning provided through a conventional learning system as mentioned by the 8th grade science teacher. The amount of creative thinking ability is measured through the average creative thinking ability in class VIII A and VIII B based on several indocators at Seriti Christian Junior High School, so that from this research, it can facilitate the school in designing learning strategies and can provide more effective facilities to support the creative thinking ability of students through a quantitative descriptive survey method. Through 5 items of essay indicator questions, the results of the creative thinking skills of students in class VIII of Seriti Christian Junior High School were 12.05 with a percentage of 43.13% in the moderately creative category, the average score of the analysis of creative thinking skills in class VIII A was 43.23% in the moderately creative category, the average score of the analysis of creative thinking skills in class VIII B was 43.04% which was in the moderately creative category, while the average score of students' creative thinking skills on the KBK (1) indicator was 30.68% as less creative, KBK (2) was 70.91 in the creative category, and KBK (3) was 27.80% so it was categorized as less creative.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe how high the level of science process skills of grade VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar, (2) Describe how high the level of science literacy ability of grade VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar, (3) Describe the significant relationship between science process skills and science literacy ability of grade VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar. This study is descriptive correlative with the population of all grade VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar which amounted to 296 while the sample amounted to 171. The instruments used are science process skills tests and science literacy ability tests on light matter and optical instruments in the form of multiple choice. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the study obtained the science process skills of grade VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar were in the low category with an average score of 8.80, the science literacy ability of grade VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar is in the low category with an average score of 7.11 and there is a significant relationship between science process skills and science literacy ability of grade VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar with pearson correlation of 0.458 which is included in the medium category.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of Bulukumba Science MGMP participants in developing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning media, in line with the Merdeka curriculum which focuses on personalized and independent learning. The scope of activities includes basic understanding of AI concepts, introduction to educational AI platforms (such as ChatGPT and Gemini), exploration of AI features for learning, and development and testing of AI-based interactive teaching media. The methods used include interactive lectures, platform demonstrations, exploratory practices, collaborative workshops, and discussions and evaluations. The initial stage of the activity began by providing an understanding of the history and concepts of AI to the exploration of the platform. Then, participants were invited to work in groups to develop and test learning media in accordance with the curriculum. The results showed an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in using AI for learning, with an average increase in competence of 51%. Evaluative discussions also identified potential improvements, particularly in the preparation of adaptive questions and visualization of science concepts. The conclusion of this activity is that this training is effective in equipping teachers with practical skills in using AI to produce engaging and personalized learning media, which can be implemented in the classroom to support students' individual needs.

Abstract

Keterampilan observasi merupakan salah satu keterampilan proses sains yang penting dikuasai peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPA, khususnya pada materi tekanan zat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis skor rata-rata keterampilan observasi peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 13 Makassar secara keseluruhan, pada setiap kelas, dan pada setiap indikator. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 13 Makassar yang berjumlah 434 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 78 peserta didik yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin dan teknik proportional random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda keterampilan observasi sebanyak 20 soal yang telah dinyatakan valid dengan koefisien konsistensi internal Gregory (Vc) sebesar 1,00. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan Microsoft Excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor rata-rata keterampilan observasi peserta didik secara keseluruhan sebesar 14,26 dengan kategori sedang. Pada tingkat kelas, skor rata-rata bervariasi antara 12,14 hingga 15,57; sebagian besar kelas berada pada kategori sedang, dua kelas (VIII.3 dan VIII.9) berkategori tinggi, dan satu kelas (VIII.4) berkategori rendah. Pada tingkat indikator, skor tertinggi diperoleh pada indikator mengidentifikasi data dan kejadian nyata (4,39, kategori tinggi), diikuti mengidentifikasi detail objek (3,96, sedang) dan mengidentifikasi perbedaan objek (3,88, sedang), sedangkan skor terendah diperoleh pada indikator mengurutkan objek atau peristiwa secara teratur (2,02, kategori rendah). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, keterampilan observasi peserta didik masih perlu ditingkatkan, terutama pada indikator mengurutkan objek atau peristiwa secara sistematis.

Abstract

This research aims: 1) To analyze the increase in learning outcomes of students who are taught using visual Flash Card media. 2) To analyze the increase in learning outcomes of students who are taught without using conventional media. 3) To test the learning outcomes of students who are taught to use higher Visual Flash Card Media than those taught without using Visual Flash Card Media. This research was a quasi-experimental research with a population of all grade VII students of SMPN 6 Dua Pitue consisting of 2 classes. The results showed that 1) Increased learning outcomes by using Visual Flash Card media for class VII students of SMPN 6 Dua Pitue belong to the high category with N-gain values of 0,59. 2) Increasing learning outcomes without using Visual Flash Card media for class VII students of SMPN 6 Dua Pitue in the medium category with N-gain values of 0,44. 3) Learning outcomes of students in class VII SMPN 6 Dua Pitue taught using Visual Flash Card media higher than students' learning outcomes taught without using Visual Flash Card media by thitung = 30,39 ttabel = 2,00247 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that Visual Flash Card media can use to improve students learning outcomes in abstract material such as the classification of living things.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how high the level of scientific literacy ability in the competency aspect of class VIII students at SMPN 21 Makassar. This research is a descriptive survey research using a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMPN 21 Makassar as many as 207 students spread over 8 classes. Sampling used the Random Sampling technique and determined the number of samples using the slovin formula, namely 136 students. The research instrument was in the form of 20 multiple choice questions. Based on the results of data analysis it is known that the scientific literacy ability level in the competency aspect of class VIII students at SMPN 21 Makassar is 54.66% which is included in the low category.
